Someone who is allowed for some other reason to be there could do the recruiting or alternatively citizens could be recruited on their holidays elsewhere and when they return .... Some measures will make spying on your secret projects harder like only recruiting loyal members of the ruling elite as your staff for these projects, but this will seriously limit the pool of potential talent you have to choose from and make for slower progress on projects. You sacrifice speed for security on a project in this case. Your immigration control law is also a good idea and would reduce the chances of success of any potential spy ring setting up but it would only make it harder for one to establish itself, it still could be done by someone with a reasonably good plan. But I agree nobody is totally immune from spys and there will always be a way for someone to get a "man on the inside" of a project and all anyone can do is make it hard (but not impossible) for them to do so. But I personally choose not to perform spy ops in CNRP since this would give away a stat that is best kept hidden for various reasons.

There is a way around the whole infiltrating a spy into an ethnically homogeneous society, You bring in a spymaster into the country and recruit some disaffected locals or bribe some greedy local in the area you want to check out to do all the actual legwork. Then the spymaster sits back in the embassy as a cultural attaché or some such thing and coordinates his local spys. That is how it is actually done in RL a lot of the time. So nobody is totally immune to spys unless you want to be totally isolationist with no embassies and closed borders.

I took a devastating loss of stats when I started CNRP again after I rejoined and I am taking another devastating loss since I have to reroll due to the war. BUT I have not found this to be an impediment to my RP at all, In fact it opened up new storylines for me than I had before. I was stagnating with my original nation and I was rapidly running out of ideas then by getting devastated I got given a million and one potential new stories I could explore as I regrow. Perhaps people ought to take their lumps in CNRP and accept that they are smaller and have more potential stories as the payoff. RP a few disasters and such and have some fun, your nation will have a more interesting history as a result.

I RPed the destruction of my nation from the current IG war as a killer plague that decimated my population in CNRP since I could not get in in time to save my stats so I had to RP a series of disasters to explain the death of 98% of my people. And I had great fun doing it and I will have just as much fun explaining the recovery of my nation as I rebuild in CNRP. A hellish run of bad luck will be balanced with a period of charmed good fortune. I like to RP and I can find story potential in any situation be it good or bad.

I have no great desire to be someone else's puppet. I will take the little bit of white land I can and be free to play however I please rather than having to ask permission to do anything.

My new nation shall be a continuation of my current storyline and it will develop in what seems to me to be a logical unfolding of events. There will be changes, A nation that has lost 98% of its population and has to repopulate with immigrants will experience change but this change will reflect the changing events across CNRP. Novus Niciae is my old nation and is one and the same as Neo Olympia and the Olympic Corporation. But considering the results of this poll I will probably return to using Novus Niciae as my nation name. And I will return to using Prime Minister Johns as my ruler name since General Markov is dead and it makes no sense to keep using that name. And besides my IRC name on CN channels has always been Prime Minister Johns[insert Alliance Acronym Here] and I want to make my IRC name and IG names match up again.

We need Mpol to crack some more funnies in public channels for our collective amusement. And I did not know about Steampoweredhitler at all until now so he needs to get out more as well.

I wish to state here for the record that my upcoming reroll will be a continuation of my existing storyline and in accordance with the OP's guidelines I am inheriting all of its stuff.

Press release from the Olympic Corporation The Olympic Corporation has sent some agents out to a small island just off shore of the middle east to assess its potential as a site for the people of Neo Olympia to settle and retain their culture. Initial reports are promising with only a few friendly local inhabitants on this sparsely inhabited island and they seem to welcome the idea of their island being developed as a national capital and a world centre for commerce. Agents are also investigating various undeveloped sites in east Africa for their potential as sites for the new capital.

It also makes finding some scrap of land that is unclaimed for me to enter the game and not be a puppet state a challenging experience.

In case you have not noticed white space on the map is a rare commodity. Soon CNRP will be full of a few players with globe spanning mega-empires. There should be a upper limit on the amount of land you can claim or CNRP will stagnate and die as it is reduced to a few big players. And then with no RP, everyone loses and nobody wins. The options for a new player now are these. 1: Become a puppet of some other player and have them dictate the way you RP in exchange for land. 2: Claim some undesirable corner of the map like Antarctica or some area that is a radioactive wasteland from a previous war and have difficulties with the extreme climates of these areas. 3: Play a "non-canon" RP and have people refuse to recognise it. We need to have more open land on the map so a stricter system of SoI would encourage a greater player base for CNRP and a much more interesting game for everyone.

As you are no doubt aware I am rerolling my nation (again, semi-forced this time) and I want to get some ideas for future RP developments to keep my RP interesting for the comming months and hopefully years. (I do not intend to reroll again, ever, once this nation is gone I am gone) I have made a short list of the names I am considering for my reroll. it is by no means a exhaustive list and if you have other suggestions I am open to them provided that you explain your suggestion and how it can improve my story. These are the names I am considering. Neo Olympia (My current nations name) Novus Niciae (My original nations name) The Olympic Corporation (The form my nation is currently in as a holding pattern while I wait to delete and reroll) If you can think of a better name and a reason why I should take it then there shall be cake for you.

Join the GPA, it is the logical choice. They are one of the few alliances that are completely untouched by the KARMA war and will have the funding to provide economic growth programs for their members without having to spend money on rebuilding.

I was a neutral for some time, but the events leading up to the war on peace made me reconsider my position and I moved before the war. I had a wonderful time in the GPA and I view them as easily being one of the best alliances in terms of economic mastery of the game.

Pyrrhic victory: Karma won, but it cost them more to destroy me than I lost. But now I am dead and moving on.

Let me begin by saying that this is not a plea for sympathy or anything like that, it is merely a statement of facts as I see them. From the start I have been a loyal member of the NPO and have assisted them in every way that I can. And I have sworn an oath to use my nation to the point of its destruction to attempt to obtain peace by fighting wars in the name of the order and assisting the larger nations to grow as a tech trader (My preferred role since I am not a warrior by nature). But there comes a time when one must recognise the inevitable and accept it. My nations have assisted the NPO in times of peace and times of war but now I have no choice but to delete since I am now in bill lock and I have no wish to ask a bank to assist my nation to get back to square one when rerolling will actually improve my position in the game since I have only debts left and no wonders or improvements to try and save. So I am choosing to die in this incarnation as I have lived as a member of the NPO. I have had discussions with my friends about several options for what happens next and after several hours of hard thinking I decided upon the only reasonable course left to me. I am going to reroll and join another alliance. I considered the option of rerolling and staying NPO but this seems to me to be a waste of time since the KARMA will never give the NPO peace and it is my opinion that the offering of the escalating peace terms is calculated to be something the NPO will never accept based on the fact that many KARMA members are ex-NPO and they know the thinking of the order all too well about matters such as this, and it is only a pretext to provide a CB for an eternal war. This is not a propaganda statement but merely my analysis of the situation based on over two years of playing this game in various incarnations and based on my experience of how the various players in this drama act. I will always be a friend of the NPO and I will assist their rebuilding with my new nation in the extremely unlikely event that they ever obtain peace. But for the moment it would be a lost cause for me to assist them by doing suicide runs into their lower ranks as a hostile reroll. and they would be better served by me leaving and rebuilding and assisting them after the war to reconstruct. I also wish to know if KARMA will pursue me when I do reroll as Prime Minister Johns again. I have no wish to continue in this war after this nation dies but if the war comes a knocking I will answer and fight back as I did before. But until I die I shall remain as I have and fight for the order according to my oath to fight until death. This might get me demasked on the NPO forums and labelled as a traitor. But I see it as a final act of loyalty since I served the order to the point where I can no longer do anything productive, and now it is time to admit that I am no longer useful and move on, respawn and start again. We are a nation because we fulfil all the functions of a nation. 1: We maintain a defence force that will protect our assets, this is the equivalent of an army though it is purely defensive. 2: Our assets sit on land that is an enclave of the corporation. We have land the same as any other nation just widely dispersed throughout the world in friendly nations. 3: We maintain a government in the form of an board of directors. 4: We have citizens with a distinct culture. But I would like to stress that the main purpose of the Olympic Corporation is to provide an honest livelyhood for the citizens of Neo Olympia after the effects of the last several wars that utterly devastated us. And to provide us with a means to rebuild again as has had to be done before when Novus Niciae collapsed. The last re-founding was difficult and this company will provide our people with the means to make a third and hopefully final founding with greater ease. So in essence, this company a transitional phase and we will one day become a more traditional nation again but until that day comes we are still a nation that will continue to function. And we shall as we always have maintain close ties with the dragon bloc.

Our security forces are just that security forces. But we have decided that our security service will be available for hire by nations that allow us to establish. Our military consultation company is geared towards providing assistance to our clients in the form of logistical support and training services as well as military fortification construction. We have enough veteran soldiers to provide these services but not enough to wage a long term campaign, and anyhow it would be counter-productive for us and our future profitably to make a bad name for ourselves. If a nation feels uncomfortable that we have chosen to give our veteran soldiers gainful private sector employment as security guards then they are free not to allow us to do business in their nation, but they will be missing out on the opportunity for the great economic benefits that hosting a mega-corporation will bring.
