But I think TOP decapitating their top end really crippled their ability (or maybe just their leaders' will) to bring their numbers to bear. We got stretched but never overwhelmed. Our (FAN's) primary targets fought well, but I suspect the bulk of their grunts were not really into the program. (For all the Legion-bashing over the years, they had a core of mid-level fighters who were very good. If Legion consisted of just those 200/300-ish nations, they would have been a damn tough AA. There are a bunch of folks I fought then who put many of the other alliances troops to shame.) ETA - nice. way to hit 'reply' instead of 'edit'. I know the Tech nerf was mentioned recently (which took place around November 2007), and there was an adjustment after that to military in general (around April 2008), but I could have sworn there was at least one other fairly major nerf to NS before the Tech one. I want to say it was an adjustment to how Infra counts towards NS, but the Wiki tells me Infra's always been calculated the same way, and that I am apparently going crazy. I'd try and check old posts of mine to see if I could track it down, but I don't have access to my old alliance forums anymore. I know of two occasions where the NS calculation was tweaked. The most recent was the tech one; but back in or around GW2 there was another that fixed up how Airforces played into the calcs (it raised the NS credit for airforce, if I recall). If you look at one of my old post GW2 charts, you'll see a point where all major alliances take a dip of varying sizes at the same time -- that's when it happened.
