THE IMPERIUM

WISHES YOU A

MERRY CHRISTMAS,

AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Established in 2014, the Imperium of Supernova X has thus far celebrated three Christmas holidays. Since the July Revolution, when our alliance established our spirit of selfless giving and sacrifice, we have made a tradition of officially celebrating Christmas, a tradition which is sadly rare in Planet Bob today. But not every Christmas was a joyful one for us.

CHRISTMAS 2014

During our first Christmas in 2014, the Imperium found ourselves facing our first war of extermination. At the time, a massive coalition had formed and struck at Supernova X as part of an escalation attempt against our allies. To the majority of the alliance, which had then been in the hands of a corrupt and ineffective democratic establishment, the war was a major shock, and the survival of this alliance was in question.

In the weeks prior to that war, the SHADOWS unit had been dismantled. As senator and commander of the SHADOWS, I was placed on trial by a kangaroo court intent on removing all threats to the Plutocracy. It was a grave blow to our military security; the SHADOWS consisted of two dozen of the most active and militarily prepared members of the alliance; with our organization removed, the Triumvirate replaced it with a woefully inexperienced naval chain of command lead by political appointees.

Despite the destruction wrought by that war, it did not slake the thirst of those who desired to wipe us from this world. Our enemies constantly plotted against us, culminating in the heroic struggle of the July Revolution. These names shall forever reverberate through history, the testament of a people unbowed by tyranny and oppression:

Christmas 2015

Christmas 2015 was a better one for us. The first 5 Month Plan had been a major success, and we had fought our first clear Victory during the November Third Operation against a misguided rebel faction. For the first time in our history, our people felt safe and secure, and discovered a new-found confidence. It was a confidence of those who had weathered the worst persecution the world had seen in many years. It was a confidence of a people who suddenly discovered we have a purpose in this universe.

The Imperium was founded in the death-throes of Civlization itself. Moralism had fallen, and our people suffered the worst from the Fall. But from our suffering we learned to love each other as family, for few had fought together as we had. We all came from different backgrounds... revolutionaries, escaped tech slaves, deserters, reformed brigands. None of us can claim a stainless background, for all have fallen short.

But perhaps it is our backgrounds, our experiences at the bottom, that has given us the resolve to be a force for good in this world. We have sought to be magnanimous in victory, and gracious in defeat. We hope to be not merely victorious, not just prosperous, but a beacon of moral order... a memory, however small, of what once was. Freedom is a lamp that wavers in the blizzard, and it takes a just and moral people to defend it.

This year we faced five wars of aggression, and rebuilt from them all. But despite the massive hordes that sought to bring us down, at no point did things seem as desperate as times past. There was no panic as we stood our ground against numbers beyond counting. I believe our certainty came from faith; a simple, cherished faith that good actually can triumph against evil. And it is a faith borne in the courage of our members, some of whom had martyred themselves to ensure the survival of the rest.

What an amazing year we have faced together! Hope has been kindled in the hearts of men, and though we no doubt face many more trials in the year to come... so long as we remain true in our our spirit and determination, what can we not accomplish together?

I think our proudest moment this past year was not our military performance, nor our economic wonders. It was showing forgiveness to those who have wronged us. We have broken the cycle of hatred and revenge that had so often dominated wars in the past, and I am very proud of how our membership has been willing to put old squabbles aside to help our new friends in the Libertarian Party of Cybernations. Having been EZI'd myself, the last thing I ever want to inflict on other nations is needless oppression.

I hope the world at large takes note of this. The only way we can rebuild the wonder and glory of the past is to discard old grudges, and work together to create a new era of peace and prosperity for all who would share in it.

With an abundance of joy, the Imperium wishes all nations peace and good will in the year to come!
