  1. Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver, the other gold. Although uranium is actually much more valuable... Glad to be allied to you guys, LA!
  2. Hey, why is your flag so much bigger than ours? That wasn't part of the deal! Heh.
  3. Let the naysayers naysay what they will, no one can ever naysay that NPO doesn't have style! Invicta sends congratulations to Mary the Fantabulous.
  4. Lord almighty. Gilly's brother, Robert (who is currently sitting Gilly's account) has been a trusted member of both our alliance and our government. It saddens me to see that that trust was misplaced. This is not the kind of behavior I expected from him. I hate being put in the position of denying such a thing, because the denial by its very existence lends credence to the lie. But I cannot let this simply stand. Invicta is not "conspiring" to do anything. I stand by the decisions I have made. We entered the war for what I felt were good reasons, and we exited the war for what I felt were good reasons. There are no "secret plans" to re-enter the war. Besides, if I did have a Secret Plan it would probably involve bombing Cambodia to destroy the Viet Cong bases there...
  5. First of all, let me say right off that tensions are running high on all sides. If some of my staff, and my members, have made statements in this thread that are somewhat less than charitable, well, I think it's fair to say that they are not alone. In an ideal world, we could keep personal feelings out of alliance politics, but I think if there's anything that both Karma and Hegemony can agree on it's the World of Bob is far from perfect. I don't hold grudges for things said in the heat of the moment, and I hope others feel the same. I won't saber-rattle. I don't think there is anyone here who doesn't see the difficulty of Invicta's position. As I have said before, we knew that going in. We made a conscious decision to honor our promise to an ally come what may. So I can hardly criticize other alliances if they feel that they must do the same! To be honest, part of me sort of sees it as a compliment. What are we up to now? Six alliances versus Invicta? Seven? And two sanctioned? Do people really think we're that badass? And if so, does anyone have a black leather jacket with studs and chains I could borrow until the war is over? B) Seriously, though, we're all doing what we feel we have to do. For myself, I can say that I am prepared to sacrifice every last point of infrastructure that my battered little (a lot littler now!) nation possesses if it means that I can say that I kept my word. To my tremendous pride, my alliance has followed me. Now, a lot of people have praised us for that stance, and I deeply appreciate the kind words. A few people have called us foolhardy, and looking at my NS numbers I guess I'm hardly in a position to argue! But the truth is that I really just wanted to do what I thought was right. I like to think that is what we are all doing. (And, yes, this is exactly the same statement I made in the TSO thread. I try to recycle!)

  7. Boxey, you're not allowed to talk in public anymore!
  8. Hey, what's an "Invictian?" All us INVICTANS wanna know!   But seriously, all the good feelings here have warmed my heart. Or maybe it's just radiation sickness...
  9. I'LL TELL YOU WHEN I HAVE A PROBLEM! Oh, sorry. Just a reflex!
  10. Who ever said it was a smart decision? Heh. Look, NPO isn't perfect. No one is. And I'm not here to defend their each and every action on each and every thing they've ever done. But they are our allies. Think of it this way: You're out drinking with a buddy. He's had a few too many, and directs a few ill-chosen words at some big, mean-looking biker dude. Or maybe he hits on the dude's girlfriend. Whatever. The point is, no matter HOW it started, you have to have your buddy's back when the big mean biker dude comes at him. What kind of a friend would you be if you didn't? And, not to nitpick, but I've seen the numbers. This doesn't look like a fair fight to me!
  11. I realize that this particular slogan has irked some people. For what it's worth, I have always seen our use of the term "undefeated" as meaning in spirit. Don't forget, in the end, Rocky was beaten. But he was NOT defeated.
  12. When I made Invicta's DoW a few days ago in defense of NPO, I said that there would be no propaganda. And I meant it. All of us in the World of Bob have made our choices. We do what we have to do. I happened to feel that honoring our commitment to a friend superseded any other commitment. But that's an opinion, and others are free to make different judgments based on their particular circumstances and situations. If you ask me, none of us are in a position to judge the choices of others. Tonight, just after 11:00pm, the Order of the Paradox declared war on Invicta and her allies. Now, I may be a fool, but I'm not a DAMNED fool. Heh. I know that even on our best day, when we are not fighting wars on multiple fronts, Invicta is no match militarily for TOP. So, yeah, it looks bad for us. We are now at war with five alliances. But let's face it, this isn't exactly a surprise. Invicta knew how this movie ended when we bought the ticket. Could we have made other choices? Sure. If victory in war was what we wanted, then we could have bailed on our commitments and joined Karma. If safety was our primary goal, we could have stayed neutral. We could have done those things, but we did not. We chose to stand behind our friend. Invicta keeps her promises. No compromises. No gray area. We do what we say we are going to do. If that means we have to march straight into the gates of Hell, then so be it. When this war is over I believe there will be a whole new World of Bob. And I want everyone in that world, no matter what their position in the current war, to know that Invicta is an alliance of honor. An alliance they can trust. An alliance that fights for its friends. I want them to remember that we did not give up, even in the face of overwhelming odds. And if, when the subject comes up, some people say, "Invicta? Yeah, they got beat. But you know, it took FIVE alliances to take them down," then I'd be OK with that too! Invicta has great respect for all of our opponents in this war. We regret that circumstances have brought us to this. Please be aware that we will do our utmost not to make this easy on TOP, or any of our opponents. That includes the use of nuclear weapons. So on to the gates of Hell. Somebody give me the keys!
  13. So they finally called out the big guns, eh? We'll try not to hurt you guys too bad, TOP. I mean,I can't promise, but we'll at least try! B)
  14. Welcome to the party, NX. Throw your coats on the bed, and help yourself to a beer. We're playing naked Twister later!
  15. /o UPN /o Poseidon /o Purple War is never a good choice, but sometimes it is the right choice. May this end quickly and well for all involved.
  16. Let Slip The Dogs of War Friends, alliances, and citizens of the World of Bob, lend me your eyes. I have no illusions about how Invicta is viewed by many of you. I have heard the comments. Lapdogs. Puppets. Willing meatshields. I won't pretend it doesn't bother me. It does. It bothers me because I love Invicta, and I believe that we have always tried to do the right thing. Have we always succeeded? No. Of course not. But you show me one alliance that has. NPO has been a friend and ally to Invicta. FRIEND and ALLY. What does that mean? It means we like them and we believe they like us. It does not mean that we answer to them. And it does not mean we think they are infallible. But a good friend stands behind you in bad times as well as good. Have any of us not known people who have made mistakes? Not had friends who have behaved questionably? I know I have. Last night our friend and ally NPO was attacked by a coalition of alliances that has come to be called Karma. I will not question their motives, nor will I question the motives of the allies of NPO who have decided not to intervene. I choose to believe that each nation and each alliance in the World of Bob strives to act in a manner that is in keeping with their principles. We are all, as Mark Antony said, honorable men (and women). But Invicta cannot simply stand by and see a friend assaulted. We may not be one of the biggest or strongest alliances around – hell, some people see us as nothing more than a paper tiger. But sometimes even a paper tiger can roar. Therefore, I must announce that a state of war now exists between Invicta and Orion. I regret that conditions in the World of Bob have brought us to this. There will be no propaganda, no braggadocio. Invicta will not not use nuclear weapons unless we ourselves are nuked. We take this action in defense of a friend and in honor of a treaty and a promise to defend NPO. Not a conditional promise. Not a promise to defend them unless they did something we did not approve of. A promise. Invicta honors her promises, and we honor our treaties. I hope that our opponents understand our motives, and that these hostilities can come to a conclusion as soon as possible. May Admin have mercy on our souls.
  17. Invicta is glad to see an end to hostilities. Strength tempered with wisdom is strength doubled.
  18. Invicta would prefer to see war avoided whenever possible. We consider both NPO and MHA to be our friends, and we would be saddened to see enmity between these two great alliances. I strongly believe that no one is a badguy here. We all want a good resolution to the current situation. May cool heads prevail.
  19. Cry havoc, my friends. Invicta regrets that the situation has come to this. We would always prefer to see a peaceful resolution to conflicts. We hope that the dogs of war will not be loosed upon all of us. But we will be ready to meet them if they are.
  20. Sorry to see allies part ways. I wish there could have been a more constructive resolution to this situation.
  21. Invicta always supports peace when it is a viable option. Therefore I hereby declare an end to any and all hostilities between Invicta and Jarheads. May we move forward together in peace.
  22. Wait... Pinnacle of Truth... P-O-T... Pot... And a 420 reference... You guys PLAYED us! Heh. No but really, congratulations to you guys. And pass that over.
  23. I will expose myself as an IRC ignoramus when I say that I didn't even know about this feature until today when Haflinger referred me to this thread. However, after using it to make fun of Haf in multiple channels simultaneously, I will say that i agree that this is a weapon that should be kept out of most people's hands! Consider me signed on!
  24. That difference in flag size is in NO way indicative of any other relative differences in size! Invicta is very pleased to welcome ACF to the world of big grownup independent treaty-making alliances. And yes, it was good for us. B) /o ACF!
