Imperial Decree from the New Pacific Order
Mihail the Just replied to Letum's topic in Alliance Announcements (IC)
I know the OP was overly wordy, and rife with self-contradictions, but it was pretty explicitly stated that there was no moral reason or obligation for this declaration. That was some refreshing honesty... Let me help out: I trust there is no lingering distaste of your own alliance's actions behind your attempt to back-peddle your own Emperor's words? :psyduck: -

I understand politics, don't you worry. I was making an observation of surprise rather than an accusation of any sort of hypocriticality - I had thought NPO's realignment was the outcome of self-serving pragmatics, but it turns out the underlying philosophy of at least some of their members goes way beyond that - making the realignment that much more valid. I might have to run that by Tywin for verification though... And don't get me wrong, I have no problem with it - and am pleased that we have evolving spheres and hostilities - the game would get pretty dry without them! [ooc]don't presume to know about my history in this game based only upon my current nation... ;)[ooc] -

My my how things have changed - the rhetoric on this page show just how clearly NPO is aligning it's philosophy with the Doomists... -

That might be true, in some sense, at a long tried and tested strategic level, but I'm afraid that you've actually left our pool of mud and climbed into something much fouler by aligning with the Doomsphere. Let's hope, for your sake, that your long term interests are not forsaken as you wallow around with your friends, because when the dust has settled (mixed metaphor, i know), it is very likely that you will have only made their position stronger, not your own. This will be fine if you are happy to be the puppets, but out the window will go the last shreds of Pacifica's once proud heritage. But I like war - so I'm not complaining at all... o/ the good guys - whoever they are! -

DS: too timid for their own style. (Oh wait, I've used that line already this week :ehm: ) Have fun everyone - good to see the action spreading! -
The interestingness is strong in this one, and in these times. Congratulations to all involved.

Enough of the love-fest. Isn't it time someone complained about peace mode? ;) -

I was making a funny, but I'll just shut up now... I can understand that the lack of autonomous identity DS seems to have in this thread could be upsetting for you, and would rather spare your hurt further. -

Yes, it's simple - even if one were nothing but the scrawny little lapdog of the other, they would still be separate alliances... technically speaking. The lapdog is absolutely free to choose to bite the hand that strokes it, but probably won't... . [Metaphor selected for rhetorical purposes only. Any resemblance to actual alliances, living or dead, is purely coincidental] -
Taster's report. The recipe is complex but has one basic principal – more Pacifica, more Fark, more everything!! This beer’s high alcohol content (warning, this ale may cause headaches for some), does not detract from a palate that is rich and full and a lingering finish without a hint of bitter aggressiveness. An excellent accompaniment for a soldier's lunch. It took some time to get these notes together... Oh, and congratulations!

I'll rephrase... No DECLARED CB , that's cool, but why even bother with a declaration? Why not just do the attacks Anyway? Too tentative in your own style... -

Exactly - so why do you spend so long blathering about events long passed, which belong to a different world to the one that we face now? I look forward to your insight on the current state of Planet Bob, insight which might be put to good use in refashioning a better world as you see it. That will give us something useful and interesting to discuss, rather than constantly re-living your version of the 'glory days', and the ensuing arguments from other perspectives (I thought we gave up on the idea of 'objective truths' some time ago anyway!?). Whatevs. I am of course, being entirely unfair, and I withdraw and apologise. This thread, as a history piece is fine fwiw, but I have to admit that my ire is raised from reading other threads where this 'stuff' inevitably creeps in at the expense of worthwhile discussion of the material facts of the present. So, just ignore me - for now :) As you were...

Wait, what? I thought the problem was we were puffing our chests out at you before reassurance (as well as after) - we have great chests you know. You can touch if you like :awesome:
