1. Congrats UCN. Glad to see you back on your feet.
 2.
Is that so? It seems it was mostly NATO calling it extortion:
Oh boy; edited logs that only show one-line excerpts of a conversation involving multiple people.
 3. This is hawt. Congrats you two! o/ NADC o/ CCC
 4.
It's not extortion.
Except that your government told us during peace talks that it was extortion.
 5. Well congrats on the new constitution. You forgot some spoilers, though.
 6.
Anu could have kept reparations coming in, 6 slots, every 10 days to GOONS, but that's not what Anu did. 5/15 - $9 mill 5/9 - $3 mill 5/5 - $3 mill 5/4 - $6 mill 4/21 - $9 mill Total - $30 mill So is it a NATO problem, an Anu problem, or is GOONS being particularly silly?
Some of those expired ones have been deleted. He's sent a bit more than that. We've also had other nations helping out with aids during our aid falls, but I don't have the logs to post that atm. We'll pass those along to the GOONS when our Minister of Commerce comes around. EDIT: To clarify, Anu was sending a bulk of the payments since April 11th, but we'd already sent a fourth of reps at that point, and other nations besides Anu have been sending other slots as well when assigned by our MoC.
 7.
11m has pushed Bob rep meter further towards draconian! NATO...look what you've done! On a serious note, Both sides should just settle up, NATO sends 11m in the next cycle to GOONS, shake hands, and both go there merry way.
We're perfectly content with that arrangement. It's what we planned on doing anyway. WELL GOONS...can we send you $11 mil next week or not?
 8.
We did. How many times do I have to say this? Have you read any part of the thread or even just the OP? WE CONTACTED NATO AND THEY SENT THE REPS EVEN SLOWER. Is that clear enough? Also that's a nice OOC attack.
Actually, on average, we sped it up. We had done an initial surge of payments after the war, but when you contacted us our reps payment had trickled down to almost nothing, as we had just had elections and hadn't quite communicated over the reps details to incoming government (which we readily admit was through lack of caring). You contacted us, we set a schedule which your copilot apparently didn't communicate back to you (and for that I'm sorry; I wasn't aware he wasn't our contact for reps payments. But in our defense, he was the one who kept contacting us about it...but you know what they say about people who assume, I guess). The only time we told you guys to fly a kite was when you asked for tech instead of money.
 9.
What percent of the reparations were paid?
I'm going to have to check with my MoC for reps logs, so please do not hold me for accuracy as I could be overestimating, but at most we had $11 mil left to pay.
 10.
See whatever patterns you want. The fact of the matter is NATO was intentionally dragging their heels and paying reps extremely slowly (one nation!), even after we told them to speed it up.
Again, when you told us to "speed it up" was when we set the schedule with you. If you wanted more all you had to do was ask. EDIT: Okay, then that is an internal issue with you guys, then. Because we set the schedule with your copilot. If your copilot did not communicate that back to you, then that's not our problem, is it?
 11.
Reps were coming in, albeit slowly, when we first contacted you. We contacted you specifically BECAUSE reps were coming in so slowly. Apparently you slowed it down even more after we told you to speed it up. You even told us there was no time limit, and that we shouldn't be asking for reps to come in any quicker. Why should we have even contacted you again after that kind of reception? By the time we realized reps were coming in so pathetically slowly after contacting you it was already so far past when the war ended we decided we had enough of NATO screwing around with us.
Before you came to us, we had no schedule. We were sending money around internally, because yes, we had no timetable, and that perhaps was our fault for not thinking things through. You came to us, we set a schedule. We were keeping that schedule; in fact the last cycle was yesterday. We had one cycle left. If you had wanted that sooner, all you had to do was ask. But you did not. The last communication we had with you, you asked us to change reps targets. You did not indicate any displeasure or make any other requests. Which leads me to believe you were waiting until there was one cycle left either way.
 12.
Wait, seriously. You let someone try to pay all the debt off just because they wanted to go beyond what they had to? You're a real pal.
You obviously have not had the pleasure of talking Anu Drake out of something when he really wants to do it.
 13.
For one thing, our copilot contacted you guys about the slow reps payments, and was only insulted. In that chat NATO even pointed out that there was no timetable. It's also good to know that you've been taking advantage of the unlimited time allotted by having ONE NATION SEND OUT REPS. Such efficiency.
When fw contacted us, we set the schedule. If you guys wanted more per cycle, all you had to do was ask. But you waited until we had one cycle left, so that you could do this drama on the OWF. But that's a GOONS move, so I'm not exactly upset over that, it's what I'm used to [ooc]in the years and years I've interacted with GOONS across many games[/ooc] and I don't mean that in a negative way. I love talking to fw. He needs to query me more. I don't have nearly enough people to BS with and he scurried out of our channel after posting the announcement.
 14. Oh goodness gracious. We had a reps schedule, we had been keeping to it, in the agreement we made with GOONS. The GOONS at no time told us to increase the cyclical amount more than what we were paying. We also had only one cycle left on this schedule. In fact, we just talked to them a couple days ago in which they asked us to adjust reps targets, which we did. The GOONS set no timeframe on us, and openly admitted to us in reps talks that the only reason they were enforcing reps at all on us was to extort us. Anu Drake wanted to pay the reps all by himself, so we'd been letting him. But, otherwise, yes, good show GOONS, I do approve of this. The ERA hem hawing on the OWF was getting tiresome, and Iron Curtain wasn't getting nearly enough drama as it should have been. OWF's been so damn slow lately.
 15.
There is no "thinly veiled" about it. If the opportunity ever arises I WILL advocate in the strongest of manner the mashing of NATO.
OK, but as long as you promise to use the treaty chain to bring Umbrella along. That way at least we'll get to have some fun.
 16.
FEAR, NATO, Hydra, and NSO didn't seem to have much to do with each other before, so the fact that you'd treaty is, well, interesting. Edit: Obligatory lol at NATO being in the Iron Curtain.
That would be where you are sadly misinformed, DK. And yes, I do love the name quite a bit. Though some people in this thread don't seem to actually know what the Iron Curtain was, so not quite sure what to make of that.
 17.
The reds, they have such wonderful women.
We are very close to LSF...any surprise, here? This bloc was a while coming for us, and it's good to see it finally come together. I'm proud to have my name on it. o/ NATO o/ FEAR o/ NSO o/ Hydra
 18. Oh this makes me so happy. Hurrah for TFD and GUN! o/ Blues Brothers
 19. It's sad to see two allies go different ways. Indeed, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Mostly Harmless Alliance have held a Mutual Defense Pact for one month shy of three years. And though we were once extremely close, time has pulled us away from each other as we have both grown and changed over the years. Yet still, a common history and the great relationship we once held still bond our alliances in friendship. Today, I announce we have mutually dissolved the North Aqua Mostly Harmless Agreement, and instead, a new Treaty of Amity shall be signed in its stead.
The Mostly Harmless North Atlantic Amity Agreement In January 2007, as the Mostly Harmless Alliance and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization signed their first official treaty, a great friendship was born. Over the years, both alliances have fought side by side in battles, maintained an efficient cooperation in peace times and it has always been the common goal of the two alliances to ensure the prosperity of their membership and of planet Bob as a whole. While the two alliances recognize and respect that each has chosen to walk on different paths, they believe that History should never be forgotten. Today, the Mostly Harmless Alliance and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization wish to formalize through this Treaty of Amity that, notwithstanding any political context, their friendship is constitutive of their individual identity. Article 1 In recognition of their shared history, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Mostly Harmless Alliance do hereby agree to refrain from committing any acts of aggression against each other, including, but not limited to, the actions of espionage, spying, and aiding an alliance that the other signatory is engaged in direct conflict with. Article 2 In recognition of their friendship, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Mostly Harmless Alliance do hereby agree to maintain a state of amiable relations. If issues or conflicts do arise and demonstrate the potential to interfere with the pursuance of this honorable goal, then they are to be settled through private discussions conducted in a timely and civil manner. Article 3 In recognition of those times in which they fought together against a common enemy, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Mostly Harmless Alliance do hereby agree that either party may request financial, diplomatic, or military support from the other. Neither party is required or obligated to provide such aid, if it is requested, but both alliances are encouraged to lend what support they are able to their friends who are in need. Article 4 Should either party, or both parties, come to feel that their differences hold more weight than their shared history, then they may withdraw from this treaty after providing seventy-two hours advance notice of their intent to withdraw. After they have withdrawn from the treaty, neither signatory may then initiate aggressive action, as defined in Article 1, for another period of seventy-two hours. Signed for MHA, Jadoo1989, Triumvir Pudge1975, Triumvir Majorddf, Triumvir Signed for NATO, AtheistRepublican, High Councillor Potentia Iskander, High Councillor Externus Lenny N Karl, High Councillor Augmentum Soronis, Minister of Foreign Affairs
