  1. May 1st: Today, after many debates and conferences, it has been decided that the people of the Balkans not under direct Athenian control will make an effort towards independence. A letter was sent to the Greece to inform the Athenian Federation of the peoples unanimous intent. The powers decided that the key to international acceptance and recognition was a democratic election to decide the form of government in and leadership the people wanted. May 30th: The major parties have been selected and the elections have begun. An overwhelming majority seems to be in favor of the republican party, followed by the Monarchs. At this point the unofficial polls are pointing towards a landslide victory for the Republican party. June 3rd: A scandal within the Republican party involving bribing of voters has just been revealed by unnamed sources. This shift in public opinion comes very close to the election and may be a deciding factor in the poll. June 10th: Unofficial polls and absentee ballots are in and it looks like the once thought landslide in favor of the Republican party has shifted due to the scandals. At this point, just a week before the election, it looks like the Monarchs will win the roll of leadership within the Balkans. June 16th: Election day has come and the votes are in, the Monarchs have won the ballot and the people have decided. The Balkans will be an absolute monarchy under the rule of King Nicola Petrovic of Croatia. The people of the Balkans have shown their appreciation for the new king in what will be called the Kings Day Parade. Private: The private police and basic defense forces would begin the process of securing and stabilizing the areas that were still without law. The King has decreed a general draft, to begin on the 20th, to select able bodied men and women of the Balkans to form the initial defense force in the land.

  9. This targeting of civilian structures was a shock to the population. Most public broadcasting centers and television stations became inoperable. Radio stations and television stations reporting evacuation routs and safe zones for civilians were cut off and the people were left stranded without instruction. A total of 400 civilian casualties were reported before the blasts, the reports of the deaths in the blasts was estimated to be in the thousands. All communication with air traffic control was suddenly cut off from commercial airliners. The air over Zulia became a chaos of planes crashing into each other trying to land in the same runway and planes in bad weather conditions clashing in the air. Hundreds would die simply because of human error and lack of communication with the ground and with other planes. The civilian factor was devastating, the military factor was indeed a tragedy for the air force as well. Passive RADAR depending on stronger Zulian frequencies would have to use frequencies coming in from other countries. The military would compensate for the incident by going into regional command centers, not depending on command from the HQ in Zulia. Civilians however would have more trouble coping for the loss of life which is estimated to be in the thousands. The people of Zulia ran in terror and the military was ordered to disband at the sight of all of the unwarranted death.
  10. Mah plaens r invinceebul and u cant c dem!
  11. The Republic of Zulia formally recognizes Livonia and hopes that its contribution to the world is a peaceful one.
  12. I'm sorry, but is there not a rule about making posts unreadable? Its unfair when not everybody has spent their life reading military magazines or studying it in college.
  13. The president thought the Peruvians a bit blunt if anything, but he continued "Mr President, I am honored that you can do me the pleasure of inviting me to yo-" the presidents guard tapped on his shoulder and whispered in his ear. The presidents face went from a smile to a pale grimace "I have to go Mr. President, something urgent has come up that needs my attention. It seems that not even the most peaceful nations are immune to attack from the imperialists." he got up and ran out of the room with his guards. The convoy was loaded up and the presidents radio was turned on for real time updates as he headed towards the border. Among the radio chatter, Alexis Ruiz broke in and told the president something that he did not want to hear "Mr. President, I am sorry to say this, but the Peruvians have announced that they will be closing their borders. We can only guess that this means their borders have been closed to everyone within their borders." she paused because she couldn't believe what she was about to say "Mr. President, we have reason to believe that you will not be allowed to leave the country based on their wording." Ramirez was infuriated "THOSE BASTARDS!" he paused to catch his composure. "Ramirez, declare a state of national emergency, you are in command of Zulia until I can get back. This action by the Peruvian government, if it is what it seems, will not be forgotten. Send a message to the Peruvian capital inquiring on their intentions." his security advisors informed him that they planned to head to an undeveloped area in Peru. Somewhere in the jungles that have been abandoned since the civil war broke out. His final words to Zulia before they went into radio silence were "Zulia, my countrymen, millions upon millions of men, women, and children have died in the name of imperialism. I pray you do not fold in the face of this unwarranted aggression from Athens and Tianxia. I ask you, as your president, and as your brother, to fight for those of our nation that have already been killed. Fight for those of the world that have stared down the barrel of a Tianxian, or Athenian gun in the name of land or ideology. Fight....For freedom!" this message was played over the remaining radio waves and television signals from Zulia.
  14. Classified movements Defensive Ground forces: Zulian defensive fighter The emergency alert systems in Zulia were activated a few hours before war was declared on Tianxian aggressors. This gave the population time to flee to emergency bunkers and collect food. The Zulian Defense Force was set to DEFCON 1, and the reservists activated. The positioning of the tunnel systems in the mountains and forests of Zulia and Merida made an air raid almost completely ineffective, but Zulia did not take chances. All anti air stations were readied, but not activated to avoid HARM missiles and heat detectors. The defenses were set to avoid making it easy for Tianxian forces to detect them. They were ordered to activate as soon as enemy squadrons were found and to fill the air with as much flak and missiles as logistically possible. With the tunnel system completed in both Merida and Zulia, hiding the forces would not prove much of a challenge. The men in the Defense Forcew did not want to lose their home land, this became their reason for fighting the imperialistic Asian forces. Defensive measures were put into action and passive RADAR tuned in to detect bombing raids. The men were ordered to be extremely defensive of their positions to avoid enemy capture of a region. Hewey cavalry was readied to skirmish with the enemy and never let them feel safe in Zulian territory. Air Force: Most assets of the Air Force were maintained within Zulian borders, the command was more than prepared to contain its self against a powerful adversary. Dying for Zulia was the best case scenario in their minds. Four squadrons were ordered to patrol at all times for early warning. The only public knowledge of the Zulian Air Force was that it was still in development. This lack of knowledge on total assets in the area was to be used to the advantage of local commanders as long as possible. All other craft would be hidden as most of them were on either dirt or small/cheap air strips. Concealing the air force would be top priority, and rather easy logistically. They would launch as soon as enemy craft were detected by passive RADAR and then destroy as many as them as possible. Offensive Ground Forces: Zulian guerrilla fighter with no markings of nationality The Zulian Defense Force could not afford too much in the area of offensive warfare within Bolivarian territory. All offensive assets would be used wisely and conservatively. The men in the region of Zulia on the border with Bolivarian Venezuela were ordered to go over the border and split from groups of 100 to as small as 5 to harass enemy platoons and patrols as well as destroy tanks and RADAR encampments as soon as they were found to have a weak spot. These men did not expect to come back and they fought tooth and nail to the last man and bullet. The bulk of the harassment would be as the enemy settled into encampments while they were working, or just after battle as they were resting. The men were commanded to be ferocious at night. Teams of 5 specifically meant to perform mortar attacks on encampments at night time would sleep in caves or under brush during the day. Every Zulian since the start of the Zulian defense force was trained on the ins and outs of guerrilla warfare, these men were regulars. If a larger group was found they would use skirmish tactics on the enemy, always moving. The men were not given markings to increase the psychological affect of being attacked by an unknown enemy. Tactics were interchanged with every engagement to avoid allowing the enemy to learn. Citizens: The man was heard saying "Fuck your war, I'm getting my groceries." The population of Zulia has been encouraged to protest all foreign aggressors upon a city or town being taken. In this way they will reach glory in the name of Zulia. They are also encouraged to refuse hospitality and aid to wounded enemy soldiers so as to not help the enemy in its fight against the revolution. OOC: First war post :D
  15. The president would prepare himself and begin his flight to Peru guided by a squadron of F-15s, though it was hardly necessary he thought, the defense department saw it differently. As soon as he was within a mile of their destination he asked for a clear landing into the Peruvian capital. When the Zulian convoy reached the palace of President Morales a team of body guards would exit the SUVs guiding the presidential limo. As soon as his cars security was given the clear president Ramirez would exit from the back seat in a clean fitted black suit with a smile on his face anxious to meet Morales.
  16. The president saw that the diplomat was not interested in the scotch he offered Jesus, is everyone in South America afraid of liquor other than Zulia? he chucked and continued. "I'm glad that our differences have been put aside, this was indeed time well spent for the both of us. I would like to offer one more thing while you are here. While we will maintain our border gates for the purpose of defending our national territory, we would like to open some spots up and begin a trade agreement with you. This would not only improve relations but it will also greatly improve the economies of both of our nations." he was tense at first but he settled a bit and leaned back to hear the diplomats reply.
  17. As soon as the delegate arrived at the capital building in Zulia he would be greeted by President Ramirez and a group of his bodyguards in traditional military uniforms. Initially the SoIA was assigned to this meeting but President Ramirez changed his mind and decided to go himself. After all he was announcing a brand new policy change to his neighbors, a rather shocking one at that. As soon as the convoy pulled up he would walk up to car and extend a handshake to the approaching diplomat from Bolivarian Venezuela. "Good evening Mr. Ambassador, if you could follow me we can begin the meeting." They walked throught the large impressive halls of the brand new building to the same room the two met last time. The same brand of scotch sitting on the table welcoming the delegate. President Ramirez showed the Bolivarian to his seat "I am glad you decided to come to this meeting, I assure you I will not waste your time." Pouring two glasses of scotch he sat down in his chair and leaned in confidently thinking of the proper words to say. "Mr. Ambassador, our government has decided...Well that we have made an error in our most recent moves for Falcon. While we still hold the position that the area was in the process of becoming part of Zulia, we did not consider how you were treating your citizens." he paused and took a swig of the scotch "So I am here to tell you sir, that we have officially redacted our claim over Falcon. In the hopes that our relations improve we have moved the troops that were stationed on the border to an indisclosed base in Merida. We would also like to offer, for now, an embassy in our capital to further relations hoping that you will return the kindness." He paused, sure that he had surprised the diplomat at this sudden move. "This move of course is not out of fear for the recent naval movements in the area, but in hopes that as long as you do not commit human rights violations in Falcon we can maintain a civil relation. The fact is that we can not afford to be at each others throats being in such close proximity."
  18. Gonzalez was surprised at the development of Paras raw material mining, though it would make sense being the oldest surviving nation in South America at the time. He didn't let his surprise show as he began speaking "Well you certainly have a lot to offer in raw materials, our nation has a large wealth of oil rights within the Zulian bay, we also have a large industrial force. We would be willing to open a trade agreement for some of your raw materials in exchange for oil at a discounted rate. We can refine the oil as well but I am sure you are quite able to do that your selves." he began pulling out documents from companies within Zulia offering their services. "We can also lower trade tariffs for now so as to encourage profitable trade between our nations."
  19. "The Republic of Zulia will be sending in military units to help in stabilizing the region in support of our friends in the Peoples Republic." -Isaac Ramirez [Classified] Total forces sent pending location of an airfield and Bolivarian permission to cross airspace: -1,000 Zulian Defense Force units -4 pallets of food and medical supplies for encampment -5 F-16 Fighting Falcon -5 A-10 Thunderbolt II -10 UH-1 Iroquois Troops standing orders: Find a safe airstrip, secure airstrip and defend until further orders are given. Do not fire until fire upon.
  20. New transport craft introduced The Republic of Zulia has announced its introduction of the Lockheed C-130 into the Zulian Army and Air Force. This craft will be used largely for support and transport of military units and material at a rapid rate. Initially 12 C-130 have been officially been put to service and 25 more are scheduled to be finished by the end of the year. The secondary transport craft of Zulia will be the Huey helicopter.
  21. I've herd that, besides the rule of having to have spy odds from in game, you also have to provide sufficient RP for the spy roles. I am new so I may be completely off, but that is what I was told.
  22. President Ramirez thought to himself "Are they protesting Thatcher after so many governments have come to be since the old English Monarchy? What a strange country." shrugging it off he finished up his tea, watching the latest season of Orphan Black.
