  1. That´s the deal, to make it easier, just send the guys 12m/15m and tell them to not accept any of that until they need cash, then accept 1x 3m pack and use it immediatly. Way back then when Grämlins was young and we had to deal wich occasionally rogues on our backcollectioning nations it was a primary rule to not accept the aid until you spend it.
  2. I went a little north, wrong way and i guess you need a lower resolution for better results, if you want the 100%. 1000 Miles resolution 100 Miles resolution
  3. This is the first topic for a very long time that entertainted me a bit. From what i got this guy knows his stuff and i´m amazed that not more rogues/terrorists exploited that yet. However happy hunting and i must admit that guy has some devilish style.
  4. Interesting peek into your thinking world. The funny part is we thought the other way around, touching FARK or MK and thus Superfriends and C&G would had been our greenlight to unleash doomsday . After Grämlins left Q, we were quite sure no one would aggressively attack us because of our own strength and because of our allies. Sure we heard this and that and the whispering of the rumor mill, at some time we even joked about that if we don´t get more than 3 pm´s per week about our destruction, it´s nothing more than a usual week and nothing to worry. We kinda expected all hell break loose but were still laid back. In our opinion attacking us would had been the best case scenario as it would had triggered not only Citadel/MHA/FOK and apart from FARK and MK but most likely the complete Superfriends and C&G blocs too.
  5. Yes but you need only 3 resources at best, at worst you could live with Iron alone and temp trading Uran to reload. So you would need only 1 trade partner and i doubt in wartimes it would be hard to get them as color doens´t matter to pay bills. A trade embargo would be very effective to nations with a very small warchest as they have to collect taxes and of course don´t trade Uran with your enemy for obvious reasons . Aside from that Iron, Lumber, Alu, pigs denying would hurt too.
  6. I guess you should ask around for some IRC logs of #collective, read them and you would instantly know that Karma wasn´t prepared at all. Note: #collective was a hell of a leak and i won´t wonder if your gov has enough logs. You can thank Liquid Mercury and enderland for your military defeat as the two were the main coordinators but don´t forget LM got into that position, if memory serves right, right after NPO declared. There was clearly no detailed plan prior to the war, just the usual guessing and tossing around what could happen, who would be with whom and who could fight who. Ask around, Grämlins had less or no contact to VE or any other C&G and superfriends alliance except for FARK and MK. There was no masterplan, it´s a myth or you were feed propaganda.
  7. Not really the biggest Infra upkeep reducer are labor camps, add Iron and Lumber and you are fine. Trades are important in tax collections not in reducing upkeep. Exception is only Uran to reload nukes. So in essence you need only Iron, Lumber and Uran + big WC + MP and have fun Conventional warfare is different as you need Alu, Pigs maybe add Oil and Coal.
  8. As i said that is the crazy, weird aspect in CN. There is so much ruthless powerplay going on, betrayal, foolplay on so many scales and what not and compared to that a trade embargo is still seen as immoral by many. Why? Why is a trade embargo different to a nuclear war. Both are to damage the enemy, both are complete legal strategies. Again here the somewhat crazy concept of sharing a color sphere with your enemy and in contrast to that knowing trades are very important plays a very big role. Still we haven´t seen any bigger war emerged from that kind of powerplay although we all seem to know that trades are essential.
  9. Sure you can state your disagreement, i was just trying to say that Senators or sanctions even for the worst reasons are no biggie, most times they are an opportunity at least either as bad PR for you or bad PR for the others. Depending on which Senator went nuts That was my whole point the weird and crazy coexisting on a color with your enemy or unfriendly neighbour or whatever you would call it, with pure logic that does not make sense at all. If it´s war you want to win that war where is the difference in firing a nuke or canceling trades, there is none both damage your enemy and i thought war is all about damage. That does not mean you can´t stay classy in a war and after the war ends you reoffer the trades. That´s the crazy thing about CN some things even minor ones seem to be more political incorrect/morally wrong than the "real" worse things.
  10. Can´t agree with part 2 and 3. Well, i was there and i can assure you the drama llama were high and loaded on the Karma side. A deal was hammered out between all the parties on the Karma side and OV was most reasonable and agreed to that. Yes that deal were OV was agreeing to let Seth ZI in exchange for Mhawk or the one who orginal spied on OV to be Zi´ed too. As is was very clear that TPF or X with TPF knowing X for sure could only get that infos about Seth by syping themselves. Your part 2 sounds like OV/Karma set this trap up. Come on Hal you don´t really believe that. No one could have known before how things fall into pieces, no mastermind. About part 3 Wooh, that´s just crazy, if NPO had already made up their mind and the orders were unstopable anyway why in hell they should have gone back to negotiations. I really don´t know why NPO still declared war but in the aftermath i guess this whole spy accusing would have blown into TPF/NPO/TORN´s face anyway as it was very clear that to get hold on the infos about OV they must have spied themselves or at least did the same they accused Seth did. So to say pure hypocrisis on their side.
  11. Here we go, "a senator got careless with his power", yes and so what. If a Senator isn´t doing what you like, go tell him, tell the alliance he is in that their Senator is a lousy one. Use diplomacy, use public, use politics, use threats, use force, whatever you think is going to work. Now the second part, have it ever come to your mind that trading can be a weapon? A very powerful one if used right? If i were i at war and i have to deal out as much damage as possible i would be prepared that would include to cancel trades on my enemies and don´t tell me naah it would hurt myself, i doubt you would ever hesitate to nuke your enemies and are well aware what you get in return. Now before all that drama with "enemy trades" you should already considered not to trade with possible future enemies but on the other hand i know you can´t always avoid that and here the color politics kick in. There is a whole thread about color politics here: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=65336 This whole thing is kinda crazy, on the on hand no one has any problem at all to deal out as much damage as possible in a war but is buffled if sanctioning and canceling trades are used as weapons too.... But the most crazy thing is we all create the basics for that by our antic vision of color politics.
  12. Oil and Gems, i would go for FJ+Ap+Steel in a trade circle, who said you can´t temp trade while you are in a trade circle.
  13. The size doesn´t matter, if you are smart enough you need only 3 coordinate sets with a different efficiency than 50%. Then you can use triangulation, that kind of stuff was first used in WWII to locate submarines, today GPS is using it.
  14. I´m stunned, what the heck is gonig on in CN. You seriously think that Senator and sanctioning is something powerful to be discussed. I wouldn´t mind if a Senator is absuing his powers and sanctioning even for silly reasons like I don´t like you as such actions would have consequences. In wartimes... you know all is fair in love and war. The argument that with a sanction you punish innocent is utterly flawed, you lost a trade, yeah big deal get a new one. I know on smaller colors it can be difficult to find a new trade but if you just pm all nations across CN, offering to join your trade circle on a specific color in 90% you will get a new trade rather quick of course only if you aren´t offering !@#$%* trade circles. Everybody knows how to circumvent sanctions and it´s no big deal (just make secret trades or move to grey), if you don´t do the approbiate steps, well your bad luck. In my opinion Senators and sanctions are completly overrated as you can easily circumvent them even on an alliance scale.
  15. Oh man, TPF guys come one, stop that hidden whining, the we were wronged by XXX attitude. I hail all those TPF members who didn´t fall for that kind of attitude, the others i despise. Lets see, even IF , bolded and underlined, there was a vicious plot to bring down you and NPO and all the other "hegemony" alliances get over it. YOU LOST. And that counts even more for the special "propaganda" brigade in NPO, guys i know you have to write that stuff but i assume most of you are smart and intelligent so i really hope you guys believe not one letter you wrote yourself. Little hint, if not things like that could lead to schizophrenia. However who am i to judge about you guys, so i rest my case and let you live in your little dream world.
  16. A friendly and huge color sphere = economic advantage, leads to military advantage. Trades are economic wise the most important aspect in this game for any nation regardless their size. The option to find the perfect trade set for your nation is a huge advantage, it´s just that simple on a huge sphere you have more possible partners, easier finding trades. With the optimal trade set a young nation grows faster and an old one earns millions more cash per day. Protecting the wealth of the sphere your alliance resides in is the best legit reason to go to war ever and it´s weird that this aspect of CN is so less used. I can´t remember any bigger war that emerged from that kind of situation. From a pure logical point of view, alliances that are very close or in a bloc should be per definition on the same color as it makes the most sense. The reality is quite different because of the hegemonial aspect which influences the political and emotional one a lot in addtion people are lazy, selfish and creatures of habit like "Nah, i don´t want to move color because then i need to find new trades that´s annoying" Although the hegemony over a color is by far overrated many alliances still think that way, it´s really weird that hegemony over a color and senator seats are so important to many. I guess it´s a projection of power they like to have. On the other hand colors are mini CN universes and i guess "ruling" your own little universe if you aren´t a power in the big one is somewhat satisfying.
  17. Read those blogs: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?a...blogid=125& http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?a...;blogid=33& They explain most stuff to run your nation efficiently.
  18. Grämlins neither In retrospective NPO was kinda schizophrenic about their polar relations. I never really understood the relations between the two of them, on the on hand Q was a counterpart to BLEU on the other NPO shielded polar at several occasions. If i would be malicous, i would say NPO tried to play "both" sides, if i would be nice i would say NPO tried to balance things. I guess it was something in between. About the UJP war, prior to it there was a small chance TOP and Grämlins would have entered on the UJP side, if Grämlins relations to GOONS weren´t that bad prior we may had put more effort in joining it. Funny thing the FOK incident with GATO could have caused the same again but ES dodged that bullet.
  19. You hit the nail, it´s the big question . I guess we have to do some data collection to get the answer but maybe a Mod or Admin will tell us.
  20. It depends on several things, your trade set and if you like to invest into 2 and a half year in advanced. There are clearly better Moon routes than Mars ones independent of the lifespan. And you are right it´s not all about the ROI. Who said i couldn´t and CN is alll about maximizing effects so your nation is better preped for any opponent.
  21. Do the math for your nation as i did for mine, it says: Mars route Total wonder costs 2,248,800,000 Days to pay off at average ~290 Moon route Total wonder costs 1,124,400,000 Days to pay off at average ~160
  22. Mars wonders in general pays off after ~290days Moon wonders in general pays off after ~150 to ~170days
  23. Doing the math, Potassium even without scholar is actually the best what you can get, but it´s not that overpowered. The difference between Mars Potassium route having FJ and AP compared to Moon with Sillicon or Calcium including 4 earth resources is absolutly marginal. The difference between Mars Potassium route having FJ and AP compared to Mars with Sodium or Basalt is marginal too. So no big deal and nothing to complain.
  24. Without posting any detailed calc: In general: Moon with 4 earth resources = best way Moon with 3 earth resources = most times better than Mars, depends on your trade set. Moon with 2 earth resources = you may think about a Mars route depending on your trade set
  25. A very precise description. I thought the Sith like the challenge, you guys shozuld make up your mind either you strive for power and adore it or you aren´t. And if you really strive for power you shouldn´t bail out at the first sign of verbal resistance.
