  1. I do indeed. But sometimes I mix you up with someone else, whose name eludes me. Where you KGB?
  2. Bacon Sambo everytime. We had an understanding that Tool would be disbanded. That they would all swivel on some side projects. APC, Puscifer et al... But apparently im hearing of a reunion? A new album? Its brought a lot of tension to TOOL. Much like \m/ brought to CN. Trouble is brewing with them.
  3. Define "take", please. Hand in marriage type take... Or take take?
  4. You my friend flatter me so. Needless to say, I like you. We nuked him. He nuked us back 25 times and than quit. It was a nasty affair, thought everyone noticed? The Dark One is on the rise, my brother. On the rise. The Ways are flooded and the darkfriends many. We try our best and hold the path. Its all we can do.
  5. Huh? You went somewhere? *Shrugs* Plans are afoot to develop new found technology to not only make the awesomeness more fluid and adaptiable but to also make it transferable to those in need. http://www.greendiary.com/entry/plastic-made-from-clay-and-water-eliminates-use-of-oil/ I dont know about you, but strife is the spice of life. Negative influences are always met with a greater and greater positive response. I dont begrudge anyone being difficult because of it.
  6. Uhm, Yes and No. I started TOOL on the 22nd Jan 2007. But only opened it to the public on the 23rd. So if we want to get technical. I just dont fancy celebrating the day I spent 12 hours learning InvisionFree. I would rather celebrate the birth of the commmunity, when other people joined me. Only as old as the kid you are pummelling. CN is the fountain of youth.
  7. Find someone or some group to trust and do that. Trust them with portions or tasks. Yes, be active in formulating a game plan but trust them in the job. They will learn in time, even if they have a bad start. And if it doesnt work then its a lesson learned. But the key to being a successful alliance unhooked from limits and restrictions (Mainly on the leader's own ability). The more people pulling the better things work out in the end.
  8. No, I havent been fully active over the entire time. At leats not in terms of being 100% eyes on the ball. I have had spells, in retrospect, minor spells where my focus slipped. And responsibilities shifted more towards those in charge of the different sections. Back in the days when I attempted to micro-manage everything minor absences has bigger impacts but that is no longer the case. I can take weekends away now with the knowledge that Dodo personally has my back... That Creeky will nurture the New Bloow. That PlanckBorn will churn the numbers and DM will find me some Tech. Willem will be operating the rope at the front door and Mia will be Mia. For all intensive purposes the reason im able to be active for long periods now without burning out is because TOOL has an amazing team operating now. Which makes it easy to stay focused. I think Olympus are an alliance certainly that on personal grounds I would like more formal ties with. You still sex my cake. I answer this question differently everytime im asked. But really I would like to see more ties outside of specific spheres. TOOL has for a long time been White centric. Lately, been trying to branch out and sample some flavours. Whats purple taste like? I dont think any one change will make Bob better. It is what it is. Just because formal rules exist never means people follow them. I just people treated each other with more respect. I find it lacking at present and its disappointing. I think too many people know others too personally after years of interaction for rules to ever be followed or agreed on. I was pleasantly surprised. Its definitely not Jordan. Doesnt have his fluid style of writing, and there was less adulation piled upon the main characters. No longer loved and fawned over by all. Gave it a darker tint. Especially with Rand. I love that change! But overall im pleased. Finally the Book didnt just allude to momentum and stuff actually started to happen. Mesana story had to be finished.. that had been dragging on for 4 Books or something. So yes, some loose ends tied up. A definite picture is being drawn to how things will line up. You can see that the book has been formulated, whether by Jordan himself in notes or by Brandon but the books is moving in much more structure. 3 Chapters with Rand. 3 with Mat. 3 with Perrin. And so on. Jordan got in a habit of jumping through too many characters in a book. That has been cut out. Better? I dont know. Just different.
  9. Where did you last see it? We can retrace your steps together. Sanction is a double edged sword. Im not a fan of the increased Ghosts it brings. But I do like having the pip and flag for purely superficial reasons. I dont begrudge anyone taking our seat. But we will move to retake it. If we lost it through inactivity, stagnation or mishap then I would regret it more. But 2/3 nations leaving is no cause to cry. If the past reactions are anything to go by we wont be out of Sanction forever. I dont really know, depends what context you put it into. From TOOL's point of view TPF has been the biggest contributing White Alliance for us. As our protector, then close allies for a substantial period. But they arent the only great White Alliance by far. And depending on how I change the definition of best I can easily name STA, FEAR, NEW just as quickly.
  10. I have had very little contact or knowledge of CSN. So im afraid my thoughts and opinion on them are limited. Apologies, I am a very reserved and interior focused person. My personal plans are to make in rows into DM13's Infra lead on me. For TOOL it is to continue how we go. Hit 2k Nukes and from there set a new goal. TOOL allows Tech Raiding of unaligned inactives. And only should the inactive be thus through attempts to contact prior to attacks. MADPs to myself are a little reckless. Should policies be THAT synced perhaps being two alliances merging would be a better option. I dont think I would ever be comfortable lining up ducks that far regardless of trust levels. Lord Brendan - as the one and only Diplomat I know. You win by default. =) Also, thank you.
  11. I will assume questions without the question marks; 1 - I dont really have a strong view either way on the reasons for the war. I think both sides could of done things differently. But then again both sides could be doing things a lot worse. Im not a great fan of Tech Raiding, and attacking alliances for such thrills isnt high on my list. Which can be argued that is exactly what this war is and also the reason for the war. So its odd. Regardless, if the trend continues TOOL will be there for its allies. 2 - NPO, NpO, NSO and NsO - I think the orders should be united and under a single Emperor. I can volunteer if one cant be decided. 3 - I would like to know more about TOP and MHA personally. Even though neither has ever held very strong ties or relations with TOOL they have been up in CN for a long time now. So knowing such people would be a like of mine. Surely after the first time, the "breaks" were mere cracks of the main broken-age-ness?
  12. My hand is already promised to the Red Sox, sorry.
  13. Greetings from over at TOOL. This may be slightly delayed, but I had it all prepared to go and poof the forums got all Houdini. So late is better than never. On the 23rd January 2010, The Order of Light as the community and alliance you know has turned 3 Years Old. On this day I personally opened the doors and since then have been through the thick and thin of building and maintaining this community. Im proud to share with all of you this joyous event as as TOOL heads into its 4th year - onwards and upwards is all that can be hoped for. Im not sure that I am familiar with any Alliance in CN having a constant "Leader" being in place for such a long time. And from a personal perspective, I can certainly understand why that is the case. Its not a job to always be envied, and at the best of times the responsibilities of being the head of a community is something that is foremost on my mind. So I want to give a big shout out to all those who have shouldered some weight in TOOL over the last three years. Without that help and that contribution TOOL's continued presence would not have been possible. A lot of those names still reside but many are wide and afar in CN from OMFG to NpO to PC (Can only hope they are being reunited in these times on the field). So to all of you, and you should know who you all are. Thank you. And you will always be a TOOL member to me. To our allies, friends and well-wishers; thank you all - if you need anything; just come find me. --- TOOL are stronger and more secure within itself then ever before. Showing highest levels of everything at present then ever; except for our member count which is a record that will never be touched. And as long as the community spirit is there, there is very few limits on what can be expected from TOOL. --- The CN community as a whole plays a massive part in creating the environment for micro communities like TOOL to survive. Without allies, without enemies, without war and debate; TOOL would not exist much like most of CN. So for the most part I a pleased you all exist. Its been a great 3 years. And to many more. --- With all that said, I would like to open our 4th year and 2010 with a General Q&A. I will personally answer ANY question you have TOOL related or not; CN related or not. I am an open book this one time only. =P TOOL would like to invite everyone over to #tool for some shakes. Ikaru's shakes bring all the boys to the yard. Most dont stay, but do drop by. o/ TOOL grahamkeatley Lord Captain Commander The Order of Light
  14. TOOL were NOT in any talks. We were aware that some talks existed, but waited until we heard from multiple direct sources that talks were ended. But we were NOT in talks. There was no peace for TPF, and as a result we declared. As far as I am concerned; White Peace was hinted at 2 days ago from TPF. But Athens and RoK were demanding more. What changed in 2 days for such a change in heart? If they really wanted Peace they would have been more proactive a couple days ago with it.
  15. The Order of Light wishes to keep this as short as possible, there is never pleasure in writing one of these. But sometimes time makes demands that must be obliged by. Our allies in The Phoenix Federation have been struck by a calculated and malicious attack based on nothing more then an age old pasting of what they deem to be intent to do harm on them. I find it quite amusing that the choice to drop the buck at TPF's doormat while the accused culprits cackle away in the corners. It is my personal hope those who have skewed the views and opinions of many eventually get their just deserts. I find it just a little disturbing that the alleged spies (ZH) are being allowed to dictate World events. With that said, TOOL will defend its allies and to that end; The Order of Light declares war on Athens, GOD and \m/ for their attacks on TPF that activated the Mutual Defense clauses within 'The Penicillin Pact'. I would like to also relay a public, if not apology, but decline of the head towards TPF for the length of time it took for us to join your side during this war. It was my hope that the folly of the actions, the prematurity of the attacks would be seen and that perhaps White Peace could of been found. Its my impression had the opponents not wished this war to escalate an offer of White Peace would of been accepted. With allies themselves being accused of similar perhaps enlightenment would of befallen them and an offer made. This was not the case and so TOOL enters the fray. -- Before anyone jumps in - we are aware there is an espionage article in our treaty with TPF that might have been used to negate this course of action but the reason for not doing so are as follows. Firstly, no evidence was presented that showed that TPF carried out spying or any action that would deem espionage to have been carried out. Also, the proof that has been pressed on TOOL to try and have this clause enacted showed discussion during wartime of a means that an alliance could keep fighting and causing enemies harm while facing perpetual ZI and perpetual war. While I would disagree with such a tactic on principle and what it entails; it also must be mentioned that when faced with a situation such as TPF was facing all tactics and options must be discussed at length. To be honest, I dont expect there was much else to do but discuss such. Lastly, while discussions were shown - there was no evidence to suggest that what was discussed actually came into being. This ties into the first reason, more or less; in which Alliances have now attacked our allies for alleged intentions and nothing more. The alliances that attack our allies in TPF now; are made of alliances that defended an ally for very much the same transgressions. They defended an ally that was accused of spying and intent to harm. I think it foolish to request a treaty be voided for espionage, when no evidence of information gathered is shown, when it so happens those involved did no such thing when they were in a circumstance when actual spying had been provided in evidence. --- With that said, I hope for a good war, a good fight which echoes into the future as being one fought well by all sides. I welcome any questions to be directed to me in person on IRC as I will not be responding frequently here within. ...and to all a good night. Happy New Year, grahamkeatley Lord Captain Commander of The Order of Light. This action has been signed by; Lord Captain Commander, grahamkeatley Hand of Foreign Affairs, Mia Hand of War, Willem Hand of Education, Creekynoise Hand of Executive Affairs, Dodoei123 Hand of Internal Affairs, King William I Hand of Commerce, Dealmaster13 Hand of Finance, PlanckBorn Inquisitors, Jarkko, Captain_Mudfoot The Council of Light
  16. Looking forward to progressing along these lines with STA. Onwards and upwards for White.
  17. We have never treated or seen STA as an outcast on White. STA are an alliance, when it comes to issues on White, that I make a point of going to almost as a first port of call. I realise that our political links have resulted in TOOL not being ultra close with STA. But when it comes to White - I dont believe that anyone should be left out and TOOL has always pursued that in its policy on White.
  18. Londo, I think you have it wrong in terms of the "gap" which you see. I think you may have a skewed view of TOOL and its reflected in your approach. But all the best to you. I wish I had of heard something in response that didnt just validate my impression of Athens.
  19. Point and case, really. I have nothing personal against Athens. But all I know is whenever TOOL gets mentioned or comes up, there is a member of Athens making some derogatory remark this way or that. I never said you had it in for us, or anything of the like. That tone from Athens was first pointed out to me a while ago from someone, and maybe its tilted my head a little now when I go to read a thread or discussion. I would love to disprove the notion, but alas it keeps reoccurring. This actually has no reference to the incident between us before. That was regrettable and handled badly on both sides. Im glad it didnt go !@#$ up completely. But its not what im referencing at all. You can see us as boring all you like, but when attempts are made to get more involved and all that is returned is antagonising and flippant remarks. Its not exactly an incentive to be involved. I guess I just find it more enjoyable to stay clear of just this sort of response.
  20. Because I like qualifying things, im going to outline a rating system before I start to try and provide some consistency for myself if nothing else. I know my opinion matters little but would be interesting to look back on to see how opinions change over time. 10 - Will be going to my own alliance. Biased or what have you. Wouldnt put the time in if I didnt benefit from it. 9 - The Peridot in my book. Those who command both my respect, counsel and trust in CN and outside. 6-8 - Good score; Im not overly out-reaching as a person in this game. Very introverted. So any step into this rating is done so with admiration. 5 - For those I know, and either dont know what to make of them or have specifically chosen the fence to watch from afar. 4 - Not favourable; Done something that I have consciously ticked off with a black mark. 3 - will be my Unknown rating. I dont think its right to list those who im neutral/indifferent towards equally as those I have never consciously conversed or observed. 2 - These would be my unlikes; for actions carried out negatively in my opinion and likewise for an attitude which I find to be ranging from cringe-worthy to distaste. 0/1 - For those I want gone from CN. --- TOP - 6; Almost on the fence, but my limited interactions have been good. On some level I can respect those who play the game in a constructive way. MHA - 4; An issue a long time ago with Argent for ever tainted my impression of MHA. Justified or not, its been my only small contact with them. Sparta - 5; There is good and bad in here. I felt a little disrespected early on in the Karma conflict, but it came good by the end. Trinite doing much for his alliance's impression on me. NpO - 8; I really like NpO. And always have. William Blake being there is just one of many reason at present. IRON - 9; Thoroughly enjoyed hanging with IRON. Right from our first DoW. Sage advice has been received and cherished. Looking forward to some good Q&A sessions in the next week. ODN - 4 FARK - 4 GPA - 4 NPO - 5; Good and bad again. It had been rated higher prior to our relations breaking down not too long ago. I just wish I knew more of you. FOK - 5; Wish things hadnt have gone the way they did between TOOL and FOK. At one stage a MDoAP seemed a certainty; what happened? MK - 7; I didnt expect to rate MK as high. Assumed I would want to lash out, and make snarky comments to combat MK's own. But when it comes down to it. You guys are solid, consistent if not a little annoying. But what it mainly comes down to for me is the sense of humour is one I have with friends in those great moments when things fly into tangents and obscure corners. For me; that mood and atmosphere needs to be worked to and then my involvement would be full on. Without the foreplay it can be just grating. And yes, a minor pinch of jealousy that so many of you have the ability to be that care-free and crass in unity. But outside of that swirl of energy and chaos which seems to get away into hostility and group bullying all too often - I actually think you show the group camaraderie, activity, support and ability that most alliances do envy, even if they dont say it. WTF - 3 TOOL - 10 TDO - 4 VE - 4 Legion - 3 RoK - 4; Used to get on really well with RoK and co... Dont know what happened, cant help but feel like the kind words turned into half smiles and spoken through gritted teeth by some from you. It soured it all a little. GATO - 3 CSN - 3 Athens - 2; Reason or not, justified or not. The feel of constant attacks on anything TOOL related is impossible to ignore and take somewhat personally. Carried out with less taste then others. Gremlins - MCXA - 6; One of the first alliances I ever held relations with back in the early days of TOOL. They offered some great advice and provided much needed encouragement in the early weeks. Fishing for a protectorate? Heh, maybe. But I appreciated it all the same. Come by and say hello again. UPN - 3 RIA - 4 STA - 8; Massive fan of this alliance. And I know political differences get cited here as if a disclaimer all too often (Hi Tyga) - I wish there was some way passed that because I have nothing but extreme support for these guys. Especially for their help on White. Invicta - 3 RnR - 4 MASH - 3 NADC - 3 WAPA - 7; Great bunch. I tend to have good conversations when I bother myself on IRC. Need to be doing it more! NV - 5; Strong group. Have heard good things from ex-members and have heard good reports. Lack of personal contact with them myself is when keeps them low. NSO - 5; No real contact. Funny to observe though, cant help but feel some there are too defensive. Heft - Big fan! NEW - 8; GREAT Alliance. Love these guys. Suryanto Tan is one of my favourite ever Alliance mates. I know he doesnt know it, but he had a big impact here. MA - 3 Umbrella - 5; I remember having a discussion about Umbrella some time ago. It changed some things for me in a good way. For some reason I had negative feelings before. But they are gone and I hope to get to know you guys better. FAN - 5; Kudos. Keep it up. LoSS - 3 TSO - 3 NATO - 4; Missing something, I feel. Get the impression sometimes that all is not right here. Nordreich - 3 GR - 3 Vanguard - 3 GOD - 2; I find the hostility in GOD to be something that will forever be a block for me in being able to see eye-to-eye. I think when grudges and hatred get in the way so much - logic can never be obtained. And I just feel its not their aim either. FoB - 3 PC - 2; My little contact with PC has been one of contempt towards myself. Probably because of a view that we are a TPF extension for member to take a swipe at. Which is a pity. Banslam is a saving grace. Well, not saving. Valhalla - 3; Would like to know more of you guys, simply because im shocked that I dont know much about you. Even though you have one of my favourite alliance names. GGA - 2; Not an alliance I am very fond of. Stories, Gossip, Drama, Unstable, Begrudging - I try and avoid with great haste. TPF - 9; TPF as a long time protector to being our longest and staunchest ally. Its not surprising I have friends and contacts within your alliance. I think you may even have an ex-TOOL co-leader in your ranks. =P I do hope in time you can settle to being a little less militaristic but over time im glad to see TOOL having some calming effect on you, white and hopefully across all our allies.
  21. FEAR!! Awesome to have your flag in-game now! Woot! GK
  22. Congrats guys and gals! Look forward to working with and getting to know you clowns well going forward. All the best. GK
  23. Great work TOOL. While this huge leap is due to a large old timer returning. Our growth has been steady over the last 6 weeks. And in conjunction with this and the topic of Ghostbusting; TOOL have 12 Ghosts all under 1k NS. Great work Jarkko!
