4. It seems I missed my anniversary... The following is poorly typed, probably a few small mistakes, but the history from my point of view. <insert epic title here> 3 years ago, I was a kid playing !@#$%*, with a "region" called San Francisco Bay Area. I didn't realize it at first, but they were a bunch of neo-liberal/communist hippies (they all had pictures of them holding toy AK-47's in a fake russian uniform standing in front of the Soviet flag). Somehow I got along with all of them, which is surprising because I was the Anarchist in comparison. Perhaps they thought they could win me over due to my youth. Anyway they convinced me to try out this new game they found, Cybernations. Boy was that a big mistake. Not only did I like the game, I've delightfully wasted 3 years and 12 days of my life on it like some 35 year old level 10 troll on World of Warcraft. I've gone from spending entire days on IRC without a minute of idling, to pulling an all-nighter just to make sure my alliance got all of its hits in in a war. Now a long bit of history. When I joined the game back in 2007, I got the usual recruitment messages. One of the funniest I thought, was from GOONS 1.0, asking me to join them in their peacemode war against the world or something like that. Now when I joined, I declined the offer from my SFBA comrades of joining ODN, because I wanted to try something else first, I chose the team color Black, and I've been here ever since. The recruitment message that stood out the most for me was from a player who I'm sure those who remember him either love him or hate him, Bobbery, for the alliance, the Armed Coalition of Disturbed Countries. What made it stand out the most was the name, followed by the incredible amount of aid given to new recruits, $1,000,000. At that time there were 3 nations in ACDC who were big enough to make over 1mil, and only one who could make 3mil. Time went on, I spent most of my days in the spam section, either arguing with a kid who went by the name of GM Kevin 1993 ("Tebow starts with a T."), being told I am a Chauvinist Pig by a delightful commie by the name of E.O.N (Empire of Nicholas), aimlessly flirting with the only girl in the alliance, trying to keep up with the ever changing and extending forum signature of Bobbery, being scarred for life by the images in improperly labeled threads by Bon or Stercus, or defending myself when Wynter picked fights. Yeah... Those were the days... The course of my CN career continued, however one incident would change things forever. Crappygate. Some of you might remember this. The incident, Capt Crappy, our beloved leader, and a few other guys decided to pull a prank on some serious guys. one of our members posed as Bilrow and Capt Crappy played along pretending like some serious !@#$ was about to go down. Lesson learned? Don't mix alcohol and IRC. Capt Crappy was forced to resign from the leadership position, the alliance, and eventually the game. A power struggle ensued. Less than a month later there was a coup. Being the spam-master I was, I just went along with whatever the program was, and was told that CyborgBelial, Tim Tebow, and Wynter attempted to coup the alliance. Wynter abused his admin powers and screwed up the forums which really sealed their fate. I ended up finding out nearly a year later that in fact they were coup'd by the powerful duo of Zzzptm and C4talyst. Despite it being a coup, it was actually good for the alliance. Without Crappy the alliance was in a downward spiral, the coup was an attempt to fix things. It did fail, and that I blame on a poor government post-coup. Another reason for the failure, I personally blame on someone who I'm sure most of everyone has heard of. Ramirus Maximus. After the coup, there was a Triumvirate established. C4talyst got the chief spot, but delegated his responsibilities to Zzzptm who really ran the show. Maximus was supposed to have an advisory role, "to get him leadership experience" I believe was the actual job description. But from my point of view, along with the point of view of most of the alliance, he ended up working against the government of the alliance. That was the end of ACDC, but it didn't end without the future of the members being secured. That security was the foundation of the Black Defense Council. The next chapter in my career was the foundation of the Black Defense Council. After the fall of ACDC I was given two offers. To join C4talyst, Zzzptm, and most of ACDC in a new alliance the Black Defense Council, which was the product of a merge between ACDC and the Black Peace Society. Or join HM4A1 in forming an alliance. I chose the former. I played a minuscule role in BDC before the Bubblegum war. Oh the Bubblegum war. One of the single most brilliant engineered wars of the entire history of the game. The skill and planning it took to get that war to look legitimate rivaled that of Umbrae Noctem. However it was not to find an excuse to attack an enemy, but to save a friend. For clarity, Zzzptm was the only person in BDC that knew the war was fake, and only Schattenman and a few guys in Browncoats new too. BDC was entirely in the dark, but Z managed to pull it off. The brilliance of the maneuver, and the fact it was completed without the slightest hitch, until someone leaked is just magnificent. That brilliance outweighs any wrongdoing Z committed against BDC. After the shenanigans were exposed, Z was forced to resign from the alliance to Peace Mode Island. Schatt's nation was systematically obliterated, and BDC was left without its key leader. Angryraccoon, BDC's numero dos, worked with NpO to secure protection and a voluntary viceroy, Myworld, and worked with Pmac627 on a new charter that allowed for an actual government. The third chapter in my career began, the post-bubblegum era of BDC. Everything went well for a good stretch of time. Then we get a former government member of NPO, Blackdagger. Due to his superior FA experience compared to the members of BDC, he was quickly appointed SoFA. I believe less than a week later, we get a knock on the door from such a pleasant person, Umbrae Noctem. It appears for weeks Blackdagger has been idling in secret NPO channels despite no longer being a member. Umbrae demands that he be expelled from the alliance and is sentenced to one weeks of attacks. That's fine. Then AR let's him back in, less than 2 days later the entire alliance get's blitzed by NPO for "spying". NPO still to this day has never provided substantial evidence to support their claims. Working round the clock for a few days we discovered evidence that cannot be used due to a breach of the ToS, but support our theories that the whole war was a setup. BDC, as obscure as we were, was a powerful link for NpO to major players on Black. We publicly stood up for NpO on numerous occasions during the whole NPO/NpO issues preceding the noCB war. BDC had the ability to bring in players with major leverage and power against NPO and their allies. Players that would make life very difficult for NPO who at the time was trying to eliminate their own sister alliance. One of the unfortunate victims of this war was our viceroy, Myworld. I don't even know how, but somehow Umbrae came up with the fact that Myworld was in on the 'spying' that Umbrae set up himself. Thus Myworld was removed from NpO and attacked by NPO, I believe. BDC ended up surrendering due to brilliant negotiations by a drunk Angryraccoon with Dilber, the only NPO government member at the time with any sense of respect. AR, TyPhyter and myself were appointed to the Triumvirate of BDC, however we had no real freedom, and felt the need to put the alliance out of its misery. Thus I contacted Joey67500 and we started the talks of what would eventually be the regretful Dark Evolution. DE, simply, was a complete waste of time. Coolgreen44 screwed the alliance as soon as he staged a takeover. End of story. I left DE in March of 2009. I didn't know where to go. I was torn between Umbrella and The Dark Templar. I spoke to a few friends in 'ella, and to Supa_Troop3r of DT, which also was the home of the man who got screwed over by his own former government, Myworld. After a few hours of deliberation I decided DT would be my new home. No offense to 'ella but I don't really like the idea of being a part of a big alliance. I had no idea what it would be like, but I did come to very much like DT. The 2nd greatest alliance in my book, next to ACDC. DT was a still steadily growing alliance. I committed myself to retirement, and didn't want to be involved in government. However I found myself in the lower ranks of Econ and FA departments anyway. Things were good, I was part of a real functioning alliance for once. Something that I didn't have since the Bubblegum war. April 2009 rolls around and with it, Karma. Now from BDC time until now, I had found myself fond of an alliance on the rivaling side of the spectrum, She Said She Was 18 (R.I.P. Lord Jay...) Like most channels on IRC, people were giving their ideas of how the war would work out. When DT entered the war we entered against The Order Of Light. Soon after I found myself fighting 3 guys from TOOL, and a guy from SSSW18 and Avalon. A fact from that war that I will forever cherish, I kicked off the nuclear aspect of the war between TOOL and DT by launching the first offensive nuclear strike . By war's end I had achieved a 10 - 1 ratio of destroying enemy infrastructure versus losing my own, my brand new SDI had blocked 15 nukes --in a row-- on it's first use. I had fought a 2 week fully nuclear war on a pitiful warchest and come out on top, AND in the top 150 for casualties at the time. Now that was an accomplishment. Next to Valhalla, TOOL is the best alliance I have ever fought. Despite being warring nations, it was easy to get along with my enemy, which is always something I look for. Post war rebuilding began. We took SSSW18 under our wing by negotiating a rather large set of tech deals in their surrender terms at a very reasonable rate. SSSW18 profited at a 2 - 1 ratio despite people's claims of them being "forced" into it. Things slowed down to a sane rate. I got to see something I wanted to see a long time ago, the systematic destruction of NPO. At the time I was unsure the terms were harsh enough. I was for the banishment from government of certain high level government personnel who were responsible for the countless engineered curb stomps and EZI of other former leaders of the game. However the fact that NPO is no longer the voice of power in CN is enough for me to be happy. Later on down the road of my career I found myself in the election race for HToFA, I lost to General Ozujsko, but was made Deputy where I served for 3 terms. I then won the HToFA race and served for 1 term before resigning because I caught a bad case of the Real Life syndrome. Ever since then, the highest office I have held has been part of an economic program. Sometime in the spring of 2010 I participated in what was pretty much Black vs Purple. Where I got to fight the only other alliance besides TOOL that is ever worth fighting. Valhalla. CNamen Square Massacre/Retirement. The most fun in this game I have ever had was the CNamen Square Massacre. I'm sure I'm breaking some rule by even talking about it, but to put it simply it was a rather large display of distaste for the people who can make your nation go bye-bye (not Admin, he's cool, he fixed everything). After that I successfully retired. I had been trying to successfully be a "retired" player since the start of 2009, and I didn't achieve this until summer 2010. I have actually been so successful at being retired that my IRC nick has been deleted from inactivity twice, and my nation was nearly deleted once. Alliance shout outs... ACDC, greatest alliance ever, hands down DT, second greatest alliance ever, and my home BDC, good idea, but it should have disbanded with the departure of Zzzptm, who really was the alliance DE, biggest mistake of my career NPO, you're not really on either my good side or bad side, you still have some bad apples, but you're actually improving from what I can tell as a retiree NpO, back in 2008, BDC stood up for you, publicly. You ditched us because 'big brother' came knocking, that is something I will always hold against you, and the fact that recently you've started to turn into what NPO was pre-karma NV, you guys are great, keep it up guys NoR, you guys might be my 2nd favorite living alliance, certainly the 2nd best black alliance MK, you guys are pretty BA, just sayin... Any other alliance I forgot that I care about, I apologize People shout outs.... Thizzland, I don't know if you remember me, but you recruited me to this game, I owe you man Bobbery, I don't know what alias you are under now, but hit me up sometime, I haven't talked to you in ages Capt Crappy, you are the greatest leader this game has ever known, hands down, it's a shame some people just couldn't take a joke Bon, you were an interesting character, I don't know if you still play, but take care Stercus, you scare the hell out of me Zzzptm, you're like the awesome father figure in this game, but like the cool dad, not the lame one Maximus, I haven't talked to you in almost 3 years, so my opinion hasn't changed, but I doubt you care Schattenman, wish things could have worked out back after bubblegum, but I doubt you care about that anymore Hunter, hope you're doing well AR, hope you're doing alright wherever you may be Umbrae, I don't like you, I probably never will, If I ever rage-quit you're at the top of my list buddy Dilber, I hope all is well for you, you're the only NPO member besides Mayor Tim that I could ever talk to without having to deal with incessant an ego Myworld, you have been an amazing leader, can't thank you enough Joey67500, despite the fact that we made the ugliest and biggest regret of an alliance of all time, you're still pretty awesome, hope you're doing well Coolgreen44, ya ruined mah babeh! Supa, you could possibly be the greatest leader CN has ever known Ozujsko, Pennyslvania is definitely better than New Jersey DT members, you guys are awesome, simple as that GENERAL TSO!!! you're pretty awesome Anyone else I forgot that I care about, I apologize
5. got the in-game message, I'll fill the fish/oil slot
6. It's either MK or NoR, I voted NoR just because I figured MK already had the majority of the votes, which they do.
7.
My personal choices: Best is New Pacific Order for intensive training to their members and a long history of fighting large, long wars, which in turn gives them a lot of experience. There are also countless other reasons, but I'm too lazy to type it out. Worst is Wolfpack, as everybody should already know... P.S. Some alliances have been left out of the polls because of lack of experience in combat. Furthermore, New Sith Order was not included because New Pacific Order is a bigger, better version. Hence it's nonsensical to put them in.
I don't see how NPO can win the 2010 Edition, they have not fought at all this year. (although i may have missed them in the lineup of this last war, if so, they didn't have a major impact) I can see how they can make the list for the best military alliance of all time, but not 2010. Best voted PC because well, they are pretty good at what they do and have done thus far this year. Worst voted Regnum Invictorum because really its pretty much the same as Invicta which was swiftly dealt with at the beginning of the year during what was pretty much the purple beat down, the easiest alliance I have fought, the micro purple alliances that fought me did more damage than Invicta did.
8.
I regret joining.
this
9. NPO got pretty badly beat during the war, however if you look they are now the #2 alliance. But again, however, if you look they do not have the control over any major treaty bloc (that I know of). They aren't really in a position to be the ebil overlords again, however you never know with them.
10. hopefully peace will be reached and my tech can start flowing again
11. Congrats Joey, I'm glad things are working out for you guys. o/ Allies
12. I can't believe I forgot, but in a way, no one on Black is allowed to tech raid him, per the Dark Vows and Noir clearly stating no tech raiding Black, haha. You have been spared TOLYWN, you have been spared....
13. I MUST AGREE WITH THE MIGHTY TOLWYN, THE ONLY TRUE COLOR IS BLACK, THE REST IS TAINTED. ESPECIALLY THAT AQUA, ITS REALLY JUST RADIOACTIVE WHITE.
14. HOW DARE YOU BEAZY! RECRUITING FROM AN ESTABLISHED ALLIANCE, LET ALONE THE EBIL OVERLORDS OF BLACK!? YOU ARE MISTAKEN, AND WILL EVENTUALLY PAY FOR THIS BY WAY OF THE DARK LORDS.
15.
Q: WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER SPEHRES SUCH AS GREEN AND BLUE. A: WE ARE DEVOTED TO BLACK TEAM, SO THEREFORE THESE SPHERES ARE MEANINGLESS. THE DARK LORDS DO NOT CONSIDER THESE OTHER SO CALLED "SPHERES" A TEAM AND AS SUCH DO NOT RECOGNIZE THEM. THE ONLY TRUE SPHERE IS BLACK.
My Admin! You truly are genius! I hereby declare that The Dark Lords is a legitimate power. For they speak the undoubted truth that the only true sphere is Black. I love you Tolwyn, I love you.
16. TOLWYN IS A CAPS LOCK HERO! But on a serious note, this is a really bad way of trying to take over the Black sphere. Like really, why did you pick a sphere with two massive treaties that pretty much ban any form of Black team takeover? You should have done some homework first.
17. We do take that into account, however the fact that they are protected is the problem of the raider. I fail to see how that isn't digesting well with you people.
18. We don't just protect anyone. Even alliances we simply are diplomatic to is a very selective process. There have only been a handful of times we have used verbal agreements, and they are usually with close friends. We look out for our family.
19. If an alliance or nation is protected, by binding treaty or by word, they are protected. End of story. If you raid the wrong people, unless they are pushovers you will pay. DT is not a pushover, thus people will pay.
20.
Thanks Ford Pitt, we're never gonna agree on the situation but heres to putting it all behind us and looking toward the future of BCOM and the future NOIR.
Cheers to your eventual return to Black!
21. Not bad, I'll give you credit for making a somewhat unbias approach to the whole Noir thing. It takes a cool head to do that. I may not completely agree with the statements made, but that argument has been dead for awhile. I'd also like to apologize for coming out and confronting you on these boards, if it weren't for my supposed retirement I'd have probably settled this in private channels. I just hate to see an alliance leave the sphere without what I believe is solid reasoning. good luck in your future.
22. You are misquoting me, and only proving the point that you have no respect for people you don't agree with. I didn't do my homework on the case of longest lasting unity bloc, to my previous understanding the only longer lasting unity bloc was BLEU, which as you all know is not around anymore, however RIA has corrected me. That, my friend is the lack of homework I was speaking of, hence why it was directly underneath the quote which corrected me on that matter. BCOM was not ill treated during the application process, as Thrawn has already shown on the previous page. And as I have stated before, not ALL of Noir was against your entrance due to age (size has nothing to do with it). And like I have stated before, Noir contains elitist alliances along with your regular joes and lulzists, those elitists voted against your admittance on grounds of being too young. I disagree with that decision, but I had no voting power. I do believe in giving alliances chances, I don't believe in denying people for stupid reasons. However, Noir does not infringe on member alliance's rights to have opinions, and those opinions can unfortunately influence votes. However, that is besides the point. The only problem, out of this entire ordeal, that I have with BCOM, is your decision to move to Brown. And in doing so, proceed to partially blame Noir for your problems on Black. Patience is a virtue, young grasshopper. EDIT: good post Rand
23. BTA left in a storm, and caused problems on their way out. BCOM caused a slight stir, but nothing much, only because they on some occasions blamed Noir and on others said Noir had nothing to do with the move. So someone is obviously lying. However, BCOM is no where near the... magnitude... of BTA. You should know that no person actually represents Noir, and you should know that when I pick a side of an argument, I don't stop. I don't appreciate it when people leave the team on questionable grounds, and I don't like it when they leave the team blaming it for problems that they most likely were the cause of. Noir isn't stomping on BCOM like a cricket in a yard, I have no idea where you got that analogy from, because it is far from the truth.
24. Noir passed its first anniversary in February, is nearing the 1.5 year mark in a world where unity blocs tend to go into deep inactivity, some survive, but most still fail due to political divides. Mainly because most unity blocs are also MDP blocs. I'm going to take a second and say honestly I've don't ever recall hearing about Pot or his history. But considering I'm still in retirement (aside from this thread) that's kinda a given. I don't... favor him... because he basically insulted Black and Noir as a whole a page or two back. He may know what he's doing, but that doesn't excuse his lack of respect. It's not my decision to deny them, I'm only a mere Middle Conclave member which can only vote if both the Upper Conclave members from their alliance are absent. Individual alliances chose to vote no on grounds of them being too young and the fact they could have been unstable. Admitting alliances and then them collapsing a few weeks later isn't exactly a good thing. I personally don't care about their age, if they are active and are willing to help the team, then I would support them. Protection is a different matter, Noir isn't here to protect Black, its here to unify, the ODP is merely a way to give alliances a chance to defend a team mate. It was never the main focus of Noir. If it was, it would be an MDP bloc.
