NEW committed an aggressive act that caused other alliances, alliances that PC and iFOK were tied to, to defend their friends. iFOK and PC worked hard for a diplomatic settlement to this, but NEW was simply unwilling to compromise on anything. Apparently NEW even realizes what they have done, and have consented to dealing with their own issue alone, without the assistance of their allies. This is a perfectly logical stance by iFOK and PC, regardless of your attempts to spin it.

With probably only one or two sets of talks with NEW? They barely got done talking to NEW gov and attempting to give them a chance to back down. This is hardly a slow escalation. Not that much would have been needed to rally support. Just about everybody realized how wrong NEW was
