"Quite excellent.

I will ready 100 Amber Guards to come to Australia, as well as the personnel required to upkeep their suits and other equipment.

They will arrive within the next week, if that is fine.

Regards,

Sarkara"

Yes, I have discussed it with the Queen; that is fine. When you send them, send them to Darwin.

IC: A short announcement from the Grand Duke

"Citizens, please be advised that there is only two weeks left to turn in any old currency you may have from the old Commonwealth or the Republic, in exchange for the new Dollar, before it becomes valueless."

OOC: Hmm...I need a seal for him too. But I'm too lazy to look for one right now.

A Proclamation by order of Her Majesty Hannah I

My Subjects,

Our great nation is approaching a year of existence and during this time, both the people of the Promised Land Republic and the Hanseatic Commonwealth have come an extraordinarily long way to unifying as one single and solitary nation. People of Finnish, Welsh, English, Marchar and other descents that make up this Queendom have shown their loyalty to the new regime and with it, we have prospered. Today this prosperity continues with the announcement of the ceasing of production of the Hanseatic Mark and the Promised Land Pound, these currencies which have served our nations well in the past is now nothing more a sign of division of our people, which must end. With mints set up and having already been in production for some months, the Australian Dollar will be the only currency excepted in Australia, the two defunct currencies will no longer be accepted. The value of the new Dollar will be the same as the Mark and so economic worry should be kept at a minimum, unless economic advisors are more terrified of which face is now staring up at them from the coin or bill.

In addition, various other changes will be announced to the daily lifestyles of our people. Due to the past attacks on Brisbane by a number of foreign powers and the fear of foreign retaliation for nearly everything, it has come to the attention of this government that precautions must be taken. Therefore in every major city, a series of underground vaults will be constructed and in the case of foreign attack on a nuclear, biological, or chemical scale, the population will be instructed to seek shelter in these bunkers. You my subjects are who keep this country advancing to greatness and it is you who this Queen will protect until her dying day. Construction hopefully will start immediately and any area selected for construction will receive compensation for any economic losses. Together, we will continue to make this great country of ours safer from any foreign attack that will ever come upon Australia's shores.

Long Live Australia.

---

**Classified to Marshal George Hammond**

Marshal,

Recently during my last Proclamation I have addressed the beginning of an underground bunker system that will serve civilians of our major cities during times of attack against our shores. While this should be high on your priority list of objectives to accomplish, the defense network on Taiwan, the mainland, Tasmania, and Polynesia are much more important at the moment and should be finished first. I would also like a report on all projects being undertaken at the moment. In addition, two new Aircraft Carriers have been constructed in Brisbane Harbor and are ready to serve, eventually I would like a detailed list once again of our military capabilities, organized with your detachments and Marshal MacDohl's as well. We must, must, say on our toes with the ability of military power at the moment.

The currency change, for the most part, had been thoroughly prepared for, and though some people still grumbled and resisted the change, they were few and far between, and were vastly outnumbered by those looking forward to the further unity it would represent. The reminder of their unity in diversity diverted the attention of many a would-be protestor away from any negative thoughts, and toward the further benefits such a unification had brought.

As for the announcement concerning the underground shelters--if there had been anything else that could have increased popular support for the Queen, few were able to imagine it.

***Classified To the Queen***

As you command, Your Majesty. I will have Hammond begin searching for ideal sites for these bunkers immediately, though construction will of course be put off until resources can be spared from the other projects.

We have begun to lay the mines and SOSUS network around Taiwan, Polynesia, and Tasmania, as the mainland is nearly completed--Hunt is still wondering where exactly we need to stop to link with the Pacificans. Estimate put it at 6 months to total completion, which includes the time to be taken for testing purposes.

All ships considered for Railguns have been outfitted with the new weaponry, and we now have several guns that can be put in place along the shoreline. Construction of the emplacements has already begun, with space in mind for the AA defense to prevent outright bombing of these sites.

Construction has begun on the first of the defenses our friends from Kriegland designed.

Testing of the AIRS network went off better than I'd hoped. My pilots were unable to find any blind spots. Not that this means there are none, but in the areas we tested, none could be found.

I have conferred with Marshal MacDohl and total forces stand as follows:

Royal Army: 1,250,680. This includes all military personel meant to fight in ground battles, both Special Forces and to a lesser extent, Marines, though officially the latter are attached to the Royal Navy.

Royal Air Force: 165 combat-capable squadrons, further divided into 151 fighter squadrons and 14 bomber squadrons. This does not include support aircraft such as quick troop transports, etc.

Royal Navy: 69 vessels fly the Australian flag. Breakdown as follows.

9 Corvettes

9 Landing Ships

10 Battleships

10 Cruisers

9 Frigates

7 Destroyers

7 Submarines

8 Aircraft Carriers

~Marshal George Hammond

***End Message***

Also Included in the report were breakdowns of which units were under the command of himself, and which MacDohl commanded.

  • 2 weeks later...

By now, the only places the previous currencies would be seen would be in private collections or museums. SDome still looked back on them with a faint hint of nastalgia, ands a few even with outright anger, but such was the way of all changes. Not everyone could be pleased by any single action.

The economy had hit brief recession, but now it showed many signs of recovering. (OOC/The increased GRL due to the war, followed by a few small boosts to my own nation/OOC)

***Classified to the Queen***

The laying of the SOSUS networks and minefields around our island possessions is nearing completion, with an estimated three weeks to full completion, and the mainland is complete. Without worrying about a linkup with greater Pacifica, the boost in progress allowed us to complete it ahead of schedule.

The land-based fortifications are proceeding apace, and we have finished selecting the best sites for civilian bunkers, so work can begin on those immediately once other projects are finished.

A Proclamation by order of Her Majesty Hannah I

My Subjects,

Australia has always been home to an extremely diverse group of people, not only inside the borders of this Queendom, but over the continent as a whole. Aborigines, English, Finnish, Welsh, Nordic, Fuyo and Kyo, Marchar, along with a vast array of other people that I could spend this entire proclamation giving acknowledgment to. There is an aura of celebration that should come from this, the fact that we as Australians, along with the Southern Welsh can live in true harmony with one another is something to be proud of and therefore, all chances of conflict should and must be wiped from the minds of people that would try and sever this relationship. In recent times, a riot took place in Melbourne which was once administered by both Promised Land and New South Wales, these people do not desire monarchical rule as the rest of the Queendom has embraced. Instead of attempting to force monarchy and the Queendom's new laws on these people, as a combination of Hanseatic and Promised Lander ideology, a referendum was held in Melbourne and in the surrounding countryside. Under the circumstances of this referendum, the surrounding area (OOC: The rest of Victoria Province) will be transferred to the governorship of New South Wales.

However, to my subjects in Melbourne who wish to remain citizens of the Queendom and have been caught in a very particular situation. Both countries will pay full cost of relocation of families and belongings. However, due to the strong friendship of both Australia and New South Wales, I implore you to get dual-citizenship if you wish to remain in Melbourne. Our nations and our continent will be united forever and this is only a step in further unification, perhaps not under one banner, but under two banners which will always be tied together for better and worse.

Long Live Australia.

When the word came out, many homes, many families, were divided on the issue. While the riots had been bad, it had still only been a very vocal, and violent, minority that had actually participated.

This did not mean there had been little other discontent--many had voiced their disapproval but not participated, and others had kept their opinions to themselves.

And even among those who had remained firmly loyal to the Queendom, there was still the issue of whether they should leave, or stay and apply for permanent dual citizenship. All citizens of that city had been de facto dual dual citizens, but to make it official was an interesting step.

Even so, within the first week, approximately five thousand individuals made the journey to the new Australian border...

A proclamation by order of Her Majesty Hannah I

My Subjects,

Due to unforeseen circumstances at the current time, I will be taking a leave of absence from the governorship of Australia. In this time as in our constitution, the Grand Duke will be transferred into the position of Steward of the Queendom and will have all my powers until I return to activity. This journey I am making for myself is one of great depth and in service to the people of Australia and to the world so that I can and will be a better leader to you all. I am fully confident in the Grand Duke's ability to lead and I am sure that Australia will be led just as strong until my return. God Bless my people, God Bless Australia.

A proclamation by order of the Steward of the Queendom

My fellow citizens,

It is no light thing to be handed the responsibility of an entire realm. but rest assured, I will do all in my power to ensure that the Queendom is maintained in the absence of our beloved monarch, which I can assure you, will not be permanent.

The government will continue to function as it has until she returns. That is all.

This announcement had been made to head off any potential panic that might ensue. From what could be seen, it was apparently successful.

First and foremost, the government of New South Wales would like to thank each and every person who took part in this plebiscite. It is this participation that ensures the freedom of the people. Furthermore, we express our relief that no violence was initiated against agents of either the Australian of South Welsh governments, or the citizens who took it upon themselves to vote on their future status. All those who wish for dual citizenship are welcome to it, although we shall still review each application. Furthermore, citizens of the Queendom who do not wish to be citizens of New South Wales are welcome to remain. To the Australian government, we welocme your continued use of Melbourne as a save haven for any ships that require it.

IC:

In Melbourne, two certain brothers and a certain German Shepherd dog remained silent as they watched Hannah's proclamation in their living room in their house. When it ended, Jed and Aaron looked at each other wordlessly. "...well! This certainly places us in a difficult situation." Aaron drawled out, holding his arms out. "It's decided then, we'll pack up and move to New England. I hear New Yor--"

"Whoa, whoa, hold it right there, cowboy. Saddle up your horse before you ride it." Jed interrrupted. Aaron stared at his brother blankly. "Okay, that was lame, my, oh, lovable brother." The former Emperor said sarcastically. Jed rolled his eyes. Henry barked once.

"Okay, anyways, what I was saying...we have to consider several options regarding the situation as of right now. If we move to Australia, where will we go? How will we get a job, and more importantly, what about Laurel?"

Aaron snorted. "That last part? Easy, just ditch her. She won't know, and we'll assume new identities and move to New England."

"Oh, my God." Jed said, exasperated as he threw his arms up. "You're not taking this seriously, bro. If we move to another place, where will we live and where will we get a job? BUT, we can remain here and get dual citizenship." Henry tilted his head and barked twice. Jed scratched the dog behind his ears.

Aaron blinked. And blinked again. That, he didnt think about. "B-but, I wanted to move to New England." He whined. Jed rolled his eyes again and shook his head. Aaron had been obsessed with New England ever since they visited New York City several years back.

"Well...there's that ditching thing. You can divorce her..." Aaron mumbled.

"Aaron!"

OOC2: If you want, you can have Laurel overhear Aaron or something. :P

With Hannah's absence the Queendom had been run for the past months successfully by the Steward of Australia, the Grand Duke, Anthony Harlem, but on her return as per the Australian Constitution all power was returned into the hands of monarch along with the confusion that now gripped the government that was involving themselves in a war in Southwestern Europe and the annexation and expansion into Annihilation. There had been a great deal of changes in just a quick absence of her rule and it was an absence that Hannah would not allow her rivals both Australian and foreign to exploit. The Iron Lady had returned.

A Proclamation by order of Her Majesty Hannah I

My Subjects,

It has been too long since my absence from leading this glorious nation to further prosperity, but in the time that I have traversed the world as a lone leader, as a human, and as a woman looking for understanding. I have realized just how important it is to remain strong to one's beliefs and for what we believe is correct and righteous. A wave of instability, despotism, and strife rocks the world and Australia finds herself posed to deliver one of these such blows in far off Europe. I have no such love for fighting a war off on faraway seas, however for the preservation of our allies is paramount and in the coming days I shall be releasing further proclamation of the status of the Australian Expeditionary Force in Europe. I personally believe the war in Europe is completely foolish, but Italy will be defended as by the command of the Steward, however at this time I will be moving to keep any such conflict from taking place as my predecessor had done during times of instability and strife across the world. Men and women of the world need not die for simple territorial claims and I can only hope that our voices of reason will keep the war in Europe from resulting in bloodshed. However, if the bloodshed between foreigners cannot be avoided, then we will attempt to limit the losses of Australian men and women from serving in a war to protect a continent that we are not part of. That is not saying that we shall not protect our allies in Italy, however as to aggressive deployment, I will be talking to my commanders in the field further about what is going on and will report back to you my subjects.

In addition to the strife in Europe, the nation of Annihilation has gone under its own amount of anarchic collapse and in a recent move, I have led personally an amount of two hundred thousand soldiers to take possession of New Guinea, issuing the newest member of the Greater Australian Family, the County of New Guinea, led by Her Grace, Countess Katherine Williams. This will be part of a new policy of furthering Australian Consolidation and Consolidation of our closest neighbors and territories. To further this, the recent Acca Daccan territories of Northern Australia have been incorporated into the Queendom by the transfer of our holdings in Taiwan. As such, the territory will be split between the Duchy of Darwin and the Duchy of Brisbane respectively and will be included to the defensive projects that have already been planned for the Queendom as a whole.

My subjects, I am proud to return to Australia as a further enlightened leader and I hope in the times to come we will both grow together as a more enlightened country and power in the world. Let this be a new breath to our people, a new breath to Oceania, and a new breath to the world. I look forward to the furthering of our state.

Long Live Australia.

**Classified to Marshal George Hammond and Marshal Christopher MacDohl**

Gentlemen,

I would like an immediate report to our services in the European theater of war and what the status of the political battle and if any action has developed in this theater. Australian lives are paramount, however I have not kept up with what is going on with our armies and navies deployed and to take a more active role in this war, as I feel is necessary for a Queen and a General to be, I demand this report and summary of our movements on my desk as soon as possible. This should include numbers, our position in the war, and possible movements and consequences of the movements as well as our allies and potential enemies. Australian interests in Europe always seem to be at the tip of the sword anyhow.

In addition, I do hope that just because of this European War, that our defensive developments with civilian bunkers and coastal fortifications have still advanced. If not, our priorities are wrong and material should be immediately placed to furthering these projects. Following this, with Taiwan taken from the Queendom, but with New Guinea and Northern Australia added, the necessary changes should be put forth of your designs. Again, I expect these on my desk as soon as possible. It is good to be back gentlemen and I expect the same finesse that you have always shown me to continue. If I have missed anything, feel free to include it on your descriptions.

The Steward had been regard as having done a good job, but the people preferred the actual appinted leader. Despite reassurances, some had doubted the legitimacy of the Stewardship. The return of the Queen dispelled these rumors.

The annexation of Annihilation was looked on with a wide degree of reactions--some whoelheartedly supported it, some said it should have simply been a Protectorate, some said it should have been left well enough alone. The latter were by far among the fewest, but also the most vocal, condemning the 'invasion' and calling it a 'conquest.'

***Classified to the Queen***

Our forces were deployed to the Federation itself, utilizing the Suez Canal. While Rebel Army is officially neutral, both ourselves and the Federation are permitted to travel their waterways, provided we don't abuse the option.

Cuurrent numbers of forces stand as follows--Two Aircraft Carriers with ten squadrons of fighters between them, 2 destroyers, six submarines (OOC Finally looked up the proposed multiplier/OOC), and 100,000 troops. One thousand of these are Special Forces.

They have seen no action yet, as the Italian homeland has not been threatened.

The political situation is volatile, with the Federation, Greenland, The Sicilian League, and the Sarnungian Republic supporting Louisiana; Tahoe has displayed vocal support for Scotland--indicating a possibility that they may attack Louisiana directly in America. Taeunas, Finland, Valencia, Bellorussia, and the Netherlands supporting Scotland. These are the only nations to send military support to either side. Actual conflicts so far include Scotland and Valencia flying over Spain to bomb the territory in question, The Federation and the Sicilian League engaging the Valencian navy, and the Netherlands engaging the Louisianian Navy.

The UMS has indicated that any further violation of Spain's nuetrality will see them declaring war on the guilty party. Rebel Army may or may not join in defense of Italy.

Our current official position is that it was a legal transaction and Scotland is being overly paranoid and aggressive, which lead to their lack of diplomacy.

At home, defensive projects were not delayed by this situation, rest assured. Our efforts to fortify Taiwan, obviously, are no longer necessary, so the forces there were re-deployed closer to home to finish the mainland fortifications--including the newly-acquired territory from Acca Dacca.

Your Royal Highness. Forgive us our insolence, but we were under the impresison from private communications between our respective governmental bodies that governance of the Cape York peninsula would be split between our two nations. If we misunderstood, we apologise, however we would appreciate a swift reponse to our query.

And I have not gone back on my promises. However I have no map of what your people lay claim to, nor have I meet any official publicly to announce these changes. Please have patience, we have parted with Melbourne, we are parting with a great deal of Northern Australia and I am doing this to further our continual friendship, harking on me before I can announce any changes, before the territory can even be consolidated makes me feel quite rushed and I would ask your government that all you must do is send a representative to Darwin with a map and pen and we can get this get this taken care of. But you should understand that consolidation is first and division is second. Come and we'll discuss, but I would appreciate patience as well from your representative.

After being received by the Royal Guard, the Southern Welsh delegation was taken through Lillia Palace towards the throne room where Hannah was waiting for them. The sun was bright, as it always was in Darwin, but the following night she had barely slept a wink and so while there was definitely a tiredness seen in her eyes, she did it best to hide it with a semi-cheerful expression when the entourage entered into the throne room.

"Your Majesty," The Guard said as the doors opened, then flanked by two Lillians as well. "My I present their excellencies, the delegation of the Southern Welsh."

"Very good." She smiled, rose from her throne to bow to them, before sitting back down and beckoning the visitors over towards her. "Guards, you may leave us, we will talk in private." The guards bowed in unison and exited through the doors and once they were finally alone and the delegation had neared where Hannah sat, she sighed opening her mouth again. "So I understand the recent moves of my nation has set your people all on fire, given the tone of the letter I received from your parliament. I have never gone back on my word and I plan to honor what I had discussed between the people of New South Wales and my own nation. We are expansionists, I will not deny that, but we are not soulless, so please let me say that I found the letter a bit disrespectful because of its rushed attitude." Her stern face brightened after that. "However, there is no reason to stay on that and as I said before, the changes discussed in private will still occur, I just need to know exactly what the Southern Welsh are interested in acquiring from us and we can both go merrily on our ways."

"Yes, Your Highness, I don't believe we have anything else to discuss, other than to note that with the dissolution of the Dragonisian state, The Queendom, Minilla Island, and ourselves are the only member states of the Australian Coalition, and with the apparent isolationist stance of Minilla Island, it essentially removes the use of the bloc in it's current state." He looked at his compatriots, and when they all shook their heads slightly, he turned back to the Queen. "With your permission, your highness, we will take our leave." He bowed deeply, and was quickly followed by the others in his party.

Commodore Henry Godwin stood in full naval regalia right outside the throne room in Lillia Palace, in his hands he carried a small minila folder, literally filled to the brim with documents and status reports, none of which he felt comfortable holding. He had been repremanded once already today in the Admiralty for the events that had occurred in New Guinea, the slow movement of the navy across the northern seas and given that he had command over some of generals and colonels on the land, for the crawling speed of the ground forces. Rubbing his eyes, Godwin straightened immediately as one of the chamberlains opened the door to the throne room and bowed at the Commodore.

"Commander? Her Majesty will see you now, if you would please follow me."

Godwin followed the chamberlain into extensive marble hall, normally the throne room was one of the brightest rooms in the palace. The gigantic windows on the left side of the room looked out into the city of Darwin and the sun would rise high in the morning sky and mirror onto the perfectly polished floors. But tonight it was the golden chandeliers above that gave any light to the room, still beautifully bright, though the darkened skies outside couldn't help but make Godwin feel a bit uncomfortable as he knelt down in front of the Queen's throne.

"Your Majesty, I have the report that you asked for from the operations in New Guinea." Godwin stared up at her and shivered a moment at her unmoving features, her dark face, her white hair, and her eyes piercing into his soul. He had always hated coming to the Queen with bad news, at least the admiral was a push over. Queen Hannah on the other hand was anything but. "I have to report a loss of about two hundred ground troops to rebel insurgents." He took a deep breath and looked down at the worst part. "In addition the loss of one hundred Royal Marines, fifty sailors and the newly built corvette the HMS Nightingale, which we have learned from commanders on the ground, was stolen by a pirate named..." He looked down at the report again. "Samantha Aran, the same woman that sank the Vixen and a few other raids on villages in Northern Australia."

Hannah looked up from the throne and down at Godwin, her eyes sparkling. "Commodore, are you telling me that our newest ship. The first corvette that has ever sailed from Brisbane, was not sunk, but it was stolen and is now out sailing in Australian waters possibly raiding Australians trade vessels?" Her tone was almost sarcastic, but the biting words were enough to keep Godwin's face pointed at the ground. "Is that what you're telling me? Who is this Aran?"

"She's been a criminal in the Australian Security System for quite sometime and was part of the Hanseatic police records prior to the Queendom. A trouble maker through and through and worked for the Pacific Trading Company so it makes sense that she got involved with piracy."

"Commodore, I want this Samantha Aran hunted down and killed. I will not tolerate piracy in the domain of Greater Australia, is that understood?"

"Yes Highness."

"And extend a reward for five hundred thousand dollars for the person that can bring her in dead or alive." Hannah took a deep breath and leaned back on her throne. "That will be all Commodore."

"Thank you Highness." Godwin stood, bowed at the court and left as he had come in. Knowing full well that Aran had already escaped his grasp for now, but that didn't mean that he didn't have the tools to hunt for her later.

OOC: Does that mean anyone can RP trying to hunt them down? :P

OOC: Uber if you would be interested in doing something like that, PM me any ideas you have and I'll see how it fits into the story. I do eventually, and eventually rather soon, plan to make this much more open ended. However at the same time, would be quite peeved if someone just goes...LOLDESTROYED...for the sole reason that it has taken me a great deal of time crafting this story. What I'm hoping for is and I possibly may give up my claims for the Hansa to do this. Is play the pirates full time and make sea travel and navigation much more riskier with either Samantha's fleet, after she gets a bit bigger and so on sailing the world. So yeah, if you want to participate in a much more involved fashion, just let me know.
