king of cochin
"Interesting move, they are relentless, aren't they?" The King asked his SoEA. "Yes Your Excellency. That is one move which we could not foresee." The King frowned looking at the world map in his study. OOC: Excellent move!! Nicely done. OOC: I was doing it for IG money im sorry everyone for doing such and despicable thing. Also the map should look like this now. king of cochin
As per High level inter governmental communication (OOC: pm) The Kingdom of Cochin has decided to cede the Cochin Mongolian Protectorate to Lu Empire and is offering a Free Trade Agreement. Sumeragi
*Private* “So much the better, since a far weaker Shina regime has our rightly ancestral homeland. It will work out well in the future.” *Public* It seems certain Dragons can never be trusted. We hope this traitorous act is not the usual behavior of our neighbors to the west. Justinian the Mighty
Did Yamato have malicious plans for the territory if it had been turned over to the? We only ask because the government of Yamato and their citizens have accused us of doing some despicable things. Wouldn’t it be ironic if they were doing what they accused us of? Sumeragi
Obviously we would be reuniting the Manchu, our cousins, who have been divided in the cause following the annexation of Neo Japan by Hansa. Unlike others, we look after our family.
Maelstrom Vortex
"This is a land exchange based on the complete relocation of another state to ancestral lands. We would like to know how this constitutes treachery? The state in question gave up claims on land it has migrated to in exchange for lands perceived as its land of origins. We see this as an act of benevolence. We're sorry regional opinion wasn't in favor of Yamato receiving the land at the period of our last summit regarding the protectorate, but we were abiding explicitly by that regional will as impartial moderator. If you consider impartial arbitration treachery also then we don't know really if anything can be done to appease you that is within ethical considerations of our global peers." - Anthony Davis Edited July 4, 2009 by Maelstrom Vortex
Sumeragi
We would certainly have no problem if Lu declined the treaty politely. However, tearing up a treaty that had already been agreed upon (OOC: via PM, and using IC words) in public is one of the greatest insults that can be done to a government. We hope the Dragon Empire shows this imprudent upstart manners in the international community.
Maelstrom Vortex
"I'm sorry. I wasn't aware anywhere that he had signed a treaty, I just saw him tear one up he didn't like and discard it saying they felt it trickery. While I do not like to see that level of belligerence on our borders I also have no reign over Lu Empire as they are a free state. If they act aggressively against Yamato then we will have a reason to act. Bad relations are just bad relations and there's nothing we can do about that. If we were to be that interventionist I fear many states would rapidly take issue with our existence. We suggest a cup of Sake for both sides and a long conversation off the world stage to try and improve relations. Perhaps an exchange of embassies and a statement of recognition of each other's sovereign boundaries and integrity would be a good start. We do encourage Lu to stop provocative action. I do agree that giving verbal agreements and then rescinding them is quite dishonorable, but at the same time until the treaty is signed it isn't fully legal and states are titled to second thoughts on such serious matters." - Anthony Davis Edited July 4, 2009 by Maelstrom Vortex
