An Unofficial Official Announcement from The Last Remnants

Due to the recent vandalism of our wikki page (the changing of our acronym from TLR to tLR and other combinations) we have decided to make it clear that from this point on, that when referring to The Last Remnants in acronym form, "TLR" shall be used and only "TLR".

Furthermore, it should be noted that The Last Remnants shall refer to the Last Republic as "tLR" and we encourage others to do the same.

We mean no disrespect to the Last Republic, but we understand that there has been a great deal of confusion amongst the international community as to heraldry and in the discussion of international politics concerning our AAs. Therefore we have deemed it necessary to announce this to diffuse any tense situations and to allow for proper communitcation and easing discernability between our alliances.

** This is not supported or endorsed by the Government of The Last Remnants and should not be seen as official alliance policy. ** Written by Avery

Pretty sure Rush just owned any dissenters (o/ TLR), but also credit to Locke for reminding us all that SOS owns the wiki and do not approve of any shenanigans.

Learn what the definition of vandalism is before you bandy the term about. At the time public statements said that tLR was the chosen acronym (hell, Rush just said it), so that is what your wiki page said. After that some intrepid anons decided not only to change the Last Remnants page, but two other other pages out of spite. This is vandalism. Look up actual wiki policy, in particular good and bad faith edits and portion of addition of obscenities before you try to claim you were vandalized again. If there was ever a problem you could have simply talked before letting people loose on the wiki. Keep a tighter reign on your members if they don't like getting banned for blatant vandalism as defined in the linked policy.

Your argument has some fatal flaws sir. First of all, we decided, and stated as such, weeks ago, that we were going to officially use TLR. Its been stated over and over in various threads. As you saw us being change from tLR to TLR repeatedly, you maybe should have logically assumed that that was not vandalism, or at the very least come to us for some clarification before handing out bans on people who just making our wiki accurate.

The bigger men, eh.. way to show them! :P Not that it matters much but it'd seem if you didn't like an alliance you wouldn't want to be confused with them all of the time. Now folks are going to have to ask which TLR people are referring to xD Maybe it will set a new trend and we can get two NPO and two NSO AAs while we're at it :awesome: buoyancy bb

Maybe, just maybe we arent too concerned with people getting us confused. In any given situation, where TLR arises, the individual need only ask himself if the context is good, or the context is bad. Then ask yourself which alliance is more likely to be related with a good or bad move... a CnG member, or a Legion ally. 99.9% of the time, this line of thought will clearly tell you who is being talked about.

I would like to point out, at this time, that we originally went with tLR. Why? Because we are not jerks. Depsite us going with tLR, we literally still got cried to, and about, every day , for weeks, for the fact that we had TLR in any fashion to ID us. At some point, you just throw your hands up in the air and say screw it, if we are going to be whined to, and about regardless, we might as well use what we wanted in the 1st place, which was TLR. The truth is, the folks in The Last Republic, seem to think that the acronym is akin to a religious symbol used to identify them, and that anyone else using an alliance name with those intiials, are committing an attack on "everything that we have sweated to build" (that is in QUOTES for a reason.) I tried, I really did, to stick with CN history, where the 2nd alliance to use an acronym changes it in some fashion, as it is tradition. However, I gave up the fight as log after log poured into us with daily complaints that we used it in any fashion. So, I am done caring. We are TLR, and that is the end of the discussion.

This is delusional. The fact is we were happy to see them take the tLR acronym. After which they spammed our IRC channel everyday, calling themselves TLR...and if you notice every thread where we are mentioned they make the same joke over and over. The TLR acronym is our identity and we have used it for 9 months, but if The Last Remnants want to use it, causing confusion, it is their decision. Just don't make up stories.

Did you read what I said? I just said bans were for changes to other pages. There was no "change from tLR to TLR repeatedly," there was one change by someone who vandalized other pages. I reverted that change in the process of reverting his vandalism. There was then someone else who changed it to TLR and it was left alone. The bans were handed out for changes to the Last Republic and SOS Brigade pages. As to the matter of you stating an intent to officially use TLR, I never saw such a thing. If the person who vandalized the page of the Last Republic had only changed the Last Remnants page and then left a note on my talk page stating that TLR was official, it would have ended there. They instead decided to vandalize pages and that is when the ban was given.

Quite frankly, you are trying to make a case that no available evidence supports. Any other admin will tell you the same thing I'm telling you. Admins are given power because they happen to understand the rules, and you clearly don't. If your members don't let getting banned, tell them not to vandalize the pages of other alliances so blatantly because rules are rules and punishments are attached to those rules.

Wow, Locke... Wow... I thought MvP (not MVP) was a pedant.-Craig
And there is, of course, no personal bias in this statement whatsoever.

Normally this is the type of topic I would read only at 5am to sober up, not comment or care, then completely forget about it the next day, but jesus christ wiki banning? You were a hall monitor, weren't you.

Literally laughing out loud.

No, pretty much didn't give a $%&@. But keep reaching.

What's even more amazing is that they complain about one day bans. They'd need to keep it up to get anything more serious.

Impero stuffed guys like Locke in lockers when he was in high school.

The simple fact of the matter is that you picked an acronym that was already taken, you originally went with "t," and your members broke the rules and the wiki admins did their jobs. Instead of figuring the situation out like grown-ups, you decided to throw together a decidedly half-assed whinefest blog. Get over it and read the wiki rules.
