The Confederated States of Russia is a federal country with a president as the head of state and separate governors for the various states that make up the whole of the nation. The current president is Joseph Putin who was named after two great Russian leaders of the past. The various states that make up the whole of the Confederated States of Russia are named after great Russian leaders of the past these being: the central and capital state of Stalin, the western state of Lenin, the northern state of Khrushchev, the southern state of Brezhnev and the eastern state of Gorbachev. The people of the Confederated States of Russia are a unified people in most respects however, different states may be slightly inclined more towards different points of view depending on the topic of conversation. For example the eastern state of Gorbachev is the most religiously active state in the C.S.R and as such the people there put more focus on religious freedom than other areas such as political or freedom of speech. The occupants of the western state of Lenin, more usually seen as a bulwark against European expansion are more opposed to foreign individuals than citizens from the other states. However, all citizens, except for a small minority numbering between twelve to fifteen percent of the entire population, are very supportive of the government especially in the western and central state. The president is voted in by popular vote every six years with a single president only being able to hold two terms in office at the most before having to give up their position. The governor of each state is voted by the people of the state they are running for every year and like the president no governor may serve more than two terms in office. The economy of the Confederated States of Russia stands strong and the nation provides a large amount of oil, natural gas, metals and timber as export products. Agriculture with in the C.S.R stands strong as well, though not to the level of its other areas of industry, significant improvements in wheat farming has allowed the nation to begin exporting excess wheat and the amount of meat produced within the nation has also tripled in recent years. Military wise the Confederated States of Russia maintains a strong armed force for security of the homeland and for any deployments abroad that the President may mandate. It is mandatory for all male citizens aged between 18-28 to be drafted for a year of service in the Armed Forces. The nation maintains a vast and fully indigenous arms industry with the nation producing almost all of its own equipment only if foreign equipment is deemed largely superior will it be imported. Internationally the Confederated States of Russia is looking to establish working relations with its closest neighbors in the interest of enhancing national security. Once this has been achieved then the C.S.R will likely look to expand its diplomatic horizons. On the table before them lay a map of the Confederated States of Russia, the surrounding lands and their nearest neighbors. In addition numerous intelligence collected about recent events in Europe had been put down. Each person sitting at the table was either discussing something with another person or busy looking over the gathered information and trying to form some sort of judgement. "Inaction is inefficient" said Putin suddenly quickly bringing a halt to any other conversations and getting everyone to divert their attention to him. "The Confederated States of Russia is new and unknown on the world stage. To be complacent and wait for others to come to us and direct our future plans is unacceptable. Commanders you will prepare to expand our nation's borders immediately. I want the local people and the local land's resources brought under our swift control. Have all branches of the Armed Forces prepare and carry out military exercises and whilst doing so head out across the borders and take the unclaimed land by force." "The propaganda department will need to work over time to counter any diplomatic fallout this move may bring, I want images and films of starving children and lost adults coming in from the land we are aiming to take. If you can use the locals themselves, pay them if you must but if that is unable to work use citizens from the southern state to fill in for the locals. It is vital that it look like we are securing the land for the people's benefit not our own." "That is all. You are dismissed" finished Putin ending the meeting and leaving his staff and commanders to exit of their own accord he got up and went back to his desk in his office to work on what direction the C.S.R will take next. Passing by border guards who had gathered the watch the impressive display of armoured might the Guard Tank Corps headed south with their objectives clear in their commander's minds. Each Guard tank Corp was made up of two hundred T-90 main battle tanks which was deemed more than sufficient to pacify any threat the locals may try to cause in opposition to the C.S.R's moves. Waiting just over the border in the southern most areas of the state of Brezhnev was the 1st and 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division consisting of thirty thousand soldiers in each division plus all the transports required to take them to their objectives. The motor rifle divisions are currently being held back whilst the tank corps secure the vicinity to the border so to minimise infantry losses. Kevin Kingswell Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) The Confederated States of Russia expresses its thanks to all those nations who have recognised us at this time, in turn the C.S.R grants recognition to those nation in return. ---- Classified Top Secret orders had been given to the 1st Special Forces Division commanders and they had swiftly gathered their men with a light combat load out before loading them onto a series of black helicopters. The helicopters once fully laden with troops took off and gathered together as one group before flying out to the north from the northern most state of the C.S.R. Their objective was Bolshevik Island just off the C.S.R's northern coast. Flying in low and fast the helicopter group spread out just as it hit the island's coastline, the large group became a series of smaller groups which flew over to their assigned landing zones without meeting resistance. Landing the soldiers on board swiftly disembarked and secured the landing zones, each of the soldiers covering the area before them. With the immediate areas around the landing zones secure the commanders sent back a success signal to the highers back in the C.S.R who in turn replied by telling the commanders to move on with the next part of the operation. Kevin Kingswell Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 The Confederated Russian tankers had not been expecting any true resistance during their movements so they were all caught unaware when the lead tank crews sighted an oncoming forces of battle tanks. It soon became clear that the other tanks heading fro them was a lix of T-62 and T-72 tanks and any question about their intent was removed when they began to open fire. Luckily at this point they were out of effective the range and most of their shells fell short, the few that got through did little to no damage though one T-90 did lose a track and was immobilized. The Confederated gunners with their superior training waited for the distance to close before returning fire. As the two forces closed on one another they began to pick their shots better and soon tanks were brewing up or being knocked out all over the place, luckily the Confederated tankers were better trained and equipped and the losses were about four to one in the Confederated favour. By the time the smoke cleared and the last of the unknown tanks had either withdrawn or been destroyed twenty one T-90 battle tanks had been destroyed or knocked out for the C.S.R whilst at least fifty six enemy tanks had been destroyed or knocked out. Though this battle was a major victory for the C.S.R the tank commanders brought their force to a halt and asked for the motor rifles divisions to be brought up to provide infantry support as commanders feared that stronger resistance lay ahead. Kevin Kingswell Posted June 24, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 24, 2014 Rebel soldiers had taken positions within a well built modern town, initial attempts to approach with armour had resulted in four destroyed tanks and seven dead crewmen. Enemy forces were heavily armed with guided anti tank missiles, artillery support was unavailable, bad weather conditions had moved in denying air support, a decision was made. Send in the infantry. Dismounting from their transports the Russian infantry gathered themselves into a large combat force and waited crouched and excited to go. They waited as the tanks moved into supporting positions whilst still be safe from incoming missile fire and then the order was given. "Ura!!!" cried the infantry as they leaped up and charged towards the rebel held town like a crashing tidal wave. Across the snow and mud they charged, some slipped and were crushed to death in the stampede having no time to pick themselves up but these losses were too small to mean anything. On and on the men charge some shouting, some singing and others deathly silent. The charging wave of Russian infantry had just got with in one thousand yards of the outer town edge when rebel riflemen and machine gunners opened fire from concealed positions among the buildings. Bullets flew out and cut down soldier after soldier like a scythe through wheat, the snow quickly became soaked red with blood and the cries of the wounded ripped through the air and yet the Russian infantry came ever on. More and more of them dropped but they so vastly outnumbered the rebels that it mattered not. Leaping over walls and through holes blasted by the tanks the Russian infantry engaged the rebels in close quarters combat. Skulls were smashed, bodies were torn and limbs were ripped away by gun fire, grenade and bayonet. The rebels had been encouraged by the opening salvos and Russian losses but not even in their worst nightmares had they expected such a savage enemy. Many turned and ran for their lives almost all of which fell with bullets in their back, those that did make it to cover never stopped continuing to flee and when they reached their headquarters in the center of the town they found it empty, their commanders having already ran away in terror. So the rebels were scared and terrified even more and any plan to hold any part of the town was lost and the survivors grabbed any vehicle they could find and drove back towards rebels lines or ran as fast as they could on foot. The victorious Russians moved their armour and transports into the town and quickly set about turning the whole town into one massive forward operating base, calling engineers forward to help achieve this. This was a mighty victory with 73% of the rebels in the town believed dead for 27% of the Russian infantrymen. But they still had a long fight ahead of them so the Russians settled in and celebrated the successful capture of the town. Kevin Kingswell Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) The next stage in the conquest of the unclaimed barbarian lands was put into motion, the initial attacks had driven the rebels out in to the open and they were now retreating away from the advancing Russian forces who had chosen not to pursue. The rebels likely thought themselves lucky but it was all part of the Russian's plans. As the rebels fled across the open and cover free land they would find themselves being set upon by air to ground attack aircraft. These planes would reap a bloody harvest in lives and equipment among the rebel troops and whole squads and companies would be rendered combat ineffective or wiped out. A few planes would be lost to rebel attempts at anti-aircraft protection but any such weapon systems were swiftly identified and made priority targets almost always resulting in their complete loss. As the aircraft continued to bomb and destroy the rebels more combat forces were brought over from the homeland to provide security on the newly claimed territory. In three directions these security forces spread out with the intention of making the Confederated States of Russia one of the largest nations in the world. In the homeland security was increased and a new police force named the Dominion tank police was created. Given a supply of older T-62 battle tanks equipped with rubber seals over the tracks to protect the roads from harm, they would patrol the nation with their tanks and arrest/destroy any criminals who dared to stand against them. Now came the process of providing security for the land and so the soldiers of the Confederated States of Russia switched from combat roles to support roles. As the civilians of the land returned to their homes the soldiers handed out hot food and drinks, clothing and sleeping bags and other essentials. Transport helicopters took sick and wounded to hospitals in the homeland to be treated while volunteer doctors and military medics did what they could for the people in the field. Kevin Kingswell Posted June 30, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 30, 2014 The rebel threat had not been fully destroyed as attacks against small Confederated units and pro-confederation citizens became more and more of a common occurrence. Colonel Isabella Kurchov, a beautiful but cold commander of one of the battle groups in the area had grown angered and tired with the rebels and decided to make an example of them. Gathering together a number of prisoners from the camps of captured rebels she had them dressed in the uniform of the Confederated military and escorted out into the open fields to make it appear as if they were hunting for the rebels. As she expected the rebels took the bait and quickly began to ambush the scattered ex-rebels cutting them down easily before fleeing but each time they did so Isabella learned a bit more about their strength and where they were coming from. It was not long before Isabella uncovered just where these rebels forces were coming from and though they had a few minor bases it was their main base she was most interested in. A few more attacks from the rebels lead to her uncovering exactly where that main base was as well as leading to the last of the ex-rebels being killed by their former brethren. With the location of the main base found and the time proving just right Commander Kurchov readied her forces and personally lead them to attack the rebel main base. Isabella lead the attack from her personal combat command BMP vehicle her hair flowing behind her as she straightened the beret on her head. calling the driver to stop the vehicle she brought up her pair of binoculars and focused them in on the enemy rebel base. It was a impressive layout, she could see trenches, barbed wire obstacles, bunkers and emplaced weapon sites. She grinned as she imagined the bloodshed to come. She held the binoculars with one hand and raised a radio to her mouth with the other. "All artillery units commence bombardment" she growled and the sound of multiple heavy guns being fired roared behind her as the artillery weapons she had brought with her and set up earlier began to fire. The sound of the guns being fired mixed with the whistling of shells flying overhead which was soon joined by the sound of explosions as the shells landed among the rebel positions. Isabella watching the barrage hit with hungry eyes watching and waiting for the right moment to unleash her soldiers against the battered rebels. "Janus continue the bombardment and watch the rebel positions. I will return shortly" she commanded before climbing out of her command vehicle and striding across to the rear area of the front lines where her tent lay waiting. Inside she dismissed her aide and changed out of her uniform and into her sleek black and evil looking armour. It looked like something a villain out of a sci-fi movie would wear which is exactly how she had wanted it made. Slipping it on she left her tent and returned to her command vehicle, she was met by a sharp whistle of appreciation from Janus. The man grinned at her and his eyes showed both lust and respect so she allowed him off with it this once. Looking back at the rebel positions she saw that they were keeping well out of sight the heavy artillery fire stopping them from being able to stay in a position to respond effectively. Raising her radio Isabella spoke into it to command her forces. "All units begin your advance, close on the rebel positions and destroy them. We are taking no prisoners. All rebels are to be shot on sight" she ordered with a smirk and she listened and watched as her tanks and armoured personnel carriers rolled past her towards the rebel lines. As the artillery bombardment came to an abrupt end the guns on the carriers and tanks took over directing their fire into identified rebel bunkers and trenches. Kevin Kingswell Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Share Posted July 2, 2014 Isabella gripped the edge of her hatch on the top of the turret of her command vehicle her hands growing white underneath her gloves, a wicked smile was on her face as she watched her troops advancing. Kicking the shoulder of her driver to give him the order to advance her smile grew wider as the command vehicle roared as the engine was turned on and she rocked back as the driver kicked the BMP into gear. Her hair began to whip behind her as the vehicle picked up speed and soon it was no longer being passed by the other assaulting vehicles. The commander watched as a guided missile rocketed out from the rebel positions and slammed into one of her APCs tearing through its front armour and detonating. Flames leaped out of the now blown out hatches and the crewmen and soldiers inside leaped out and fell to the floor writhing in flames as they did. Snarling Isabella grabbed a hold of the mounted machine gun and swung it around to face the location where the missile had come from. "Die you bastards!!!" she screamed as she depressed the trigger and sent a hail of bullets arcing towards the position, a number of other vehicles did the same thing until a direct hit from a tank cannon obliterated the position and the rebels inside. Howling with glee Isabella spotted a group of six rebels trying to flee into the distance and she turned her gun on them as her vehicle passed. "No Survivors!!!" she manically screamed scything down the entire group in one long sweep of the barrel. All around her Isabella's armoured units were over running the forward rebel positions and cutting down all the rebels where they stood or when they tried to run. A few tried to surrender but they were shot down without mercy much to their comrades horror. Of course the assault was not without losses to the Russians as nine APCs and three battle tanks had been destroyed with the resulting loss of thirty seven soldiers dead and another fourteen wounded. Kevin Kingswell Posted July 6, 2014 Author Report Share Posted July 6, 2014 Isabella's forces swiftly over ran the remaining rebel positions and killed each and every rebel found, even rebels that attempted to flee were cut down to ensure that the whole rebellion was totally crushed. Their mission achieved Isabella's forces and the other battle groups retreated back to the territory of the C.S.R for their mission had never been one of expansion instead they had only wished to destroy the rebels to leave the native population to live in peace. Kevin Kingswell Posted July 6, 2014 Author Report Share Posted July 6, 2014 Classified Following the diplomatic failure in relation to the European Community the leadership of the Confederated States of Russia was over thrown by a military coup lead by one of the country's most famous generals, Maximilian Varos. A young but talented officer the blonde haired man had risen to the challenge of command and worked his way to become a general. Fiercely patriotic Maximilian saw the government's failures as a betrayal and lead those troops loyal to him against the government. Faced with overwhelming proof that the people were with the esteemed general the country's leadership attempted to flee only to be hunted down, captured and finally executed for crimes against the people. With the old government torn away the way was open for Maximilian to step up and become ruler. Declaring himself the first Emperor of the new Russian Empire Maximilian began by being bold and consolidating his position of power. He carried out a great purge of the military removing all commanders who were not loyal to him personally and replacing them with commanders who had personally pledged their loyalty only to him. Civil rights were curtailed as well, the likes of freedom of speech and the right to protest were removed but in their place the citizens were given a greater pledge of security. Criminal elements and corrupt businesses were hunted down and arrested before being sent to the wilds of Siberia where great prisons had been left usable but abandoned by the previous government. With Europe having firmly closed its borders and friendship to Russia the Russian Empire stood alone but this was not enough for the new Emperor. First the Russian Empire would seek an alliance with another great power the Babylon Empire in the middle east and the soldiery of the Empire would once again cross the borders to retake the territory they had just so recently left alone. Using the combined force of the army and air force the Imperials would move across the borders of the Russian Empire and into lands they had just so recently fought and in some cases died over. Where before they came as liberators and allies they now came as conquerors, the native population would be given a harsh choice to either join and support the Empire or have their property confiscated and to sent to the mighty Imperial Prisons in the Siberian wastelands. Most would choose the former but some trying to be defiant would choose the later and pay the price for such foolishness. As the planes and vehicles of the Imperial Armed Forces continue to cross the border in ever growing numbers the Emperor would greet the opening moves with much joy. Post 1 of 7.
