KaiserMelech Mikhail
"Let's head out," Mikhail said, "I want to share my big plans." As the royal motercade rolls futher out from the capitol, more and more damage can be seen. Railroad tracks are in a mangled mess, trees are flattened and entire cities are charred. As they passed the city of Judenburg, they could tell it was once a war zone. After hours of driving, they arrived on the shore of Lake Aaron, where the city of Al-Mizrach once stood, right on the border between the Solairen Federacy, Indochina and the Marscurian Empire. Mikhail walked up the stairs onto a makeshift stage. Before him stood thousands of soldiers and construction workers. "My people!" Mikhail announced, "It is time to rebuild. We will start with this burned out shell of a city! Al Mizrach no longer exists, this will be the City of Wonder!" The people cheered as they went to work, everyone knew the jobs they needed to do. A new city of friendship and cooperation was about to arise. The city is located right near the common border of the three countries. It is designed to be a cultural, economic, and diplomatic hub in the region for all the countries involved. The city will be located on the shores of Lake Aaron. This will provide endless recreational activities for the people. Parks and gardens will be located throughout the city, providing relaxation and beauty. The city will be attached to the rest of the empire through highways and trains. This high speed train is part of the newly constructed rail network spreading around the empire. Railyards outside of the city will make the area a hub for international trade. A modern police force and a significant number of troops stationed in a base outside the city will mean that this is one of the safest cities in the empire. CoW International Airport will be the largest airport in the eastern half of the Empire. KaiserMelech Mikhail
We will love to participate in the creation of a megacity. Perhaps this may even exceed the size of Kolkolka. It is our hope that you will add to this city. Here, a border will be little more than a line drawn in a street. It can be a place were we all can mingle freely.

It may be much work to impliment, but well worth it in the end.
KaiserMelech Mikhail
Throughout the building site, explosions were heard as blasting crews from the military tore down burned out buildings. This was a neccesary step to provide the space to build the new city. Before any building was demolished, it was thoroughly searched to see if any bodies were in the wreckage. Any bodies found, whether they were Marscurian or Indochinese, were given a military funeral with full honors. Engineers were on hand for every blast. It was their job to determine how to bring down buildings efficiently and safely, as well as deem if a building was safe enough to seach. Occationally, unexploded ordinance gave demolitioners quite a shock. Edited February 27, 2009 by KaiserMelech Mikhail I

KaiserMelech Mikhail
OOC: Sorry for the epic gravedig, but I just remembered this and wanted to continue with it. Hopefully updates will be more frequent. IC: A great deal of work had progressed in the City of Wonder. The city was almost complete, and a few major projects stood out. The first major project was the Grand Tower[/i The tower is 800 feet tall, and contains the city governmental offices along with customs offices due to the high amount of trade that occurs between Marscury and IndoChina. Massive searchlights illuminate the tower at night, tinting it a brilliant shade of gold. The City of Wonder International Airport has been completed and is handling several hundred domestic and international flights every day. Here is the Domestic terminal. It is smaller than the international terminal, but is still equiped with its own baggage claim. The two terminals are connected with the entry structure by a monorail system. The international terminal is twice the size of the domestic terminal and is equipped with security, baggage claim and a customs area. It is connected by the airport monorail system. The main building contains many of the airport services. It contains check in for the airlines, currency exchanges for people traveling abroad, security checks, duty free and other stores, a station for the airport monorail, and pick up points for taxis, buses and other mass transit. The Central Park surrounding Lake Aaron is a large green space for rest and relaxation. Within the park, there are sports complexes, play areas for dogs, nature trails, a free zoo containing animals from around the world, swimming and boating facilities on Lake Aaron, and several statues dedicated to heroes from Marscury's past. The City of Wonder Railyard and Trade Center is the largest railyard in the country. Its primary goal is to handle freight and passengers between Marscury and IndoChina, but it does perform some domestic services as well. There is still a good deal of work to do on the city, but it is already supporting a sizeable population.
Shadowsage
As a note, the Hub for the South American League (The ones that started the major war) didn't work out so well. We hope that this will end up better for all parties involved, preferably by keeping it a militarily neutral zone.
KaiserMelech Mikhail
Today, work stopped on the city. The recent conflict in Indochina has provided an unsafe condition for the construction workers, and they, along with all current residents, have been ordered to evacuate several miles inland, to ensure safety. As it seems that Slavorussia will take control of the area, it is our hope that they will embrace the dream of this city, and continue on with its expansion on their side of the border. Cranes stood motionless, as all workers were evacuated from the area.

Maelstrom Vortex
"Given that we appear to possibly be acquiring the land formerly part of Indochina with which the Marscurian Empire has a concern.. we can assure them that the work will resume.. and with the rejuvenation of a national treasury that is fit and willing to invest capital into infrastructure." That is reassuring to hear. Workers are being escorted back to the city, and work will resume tomorrow.
