1. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, COJ's was the most... human. My most heartfelt thanks to Schatt, Sun Wukon, Prodigal Moon, Biff Webster, Don Chele ... and the few others who worked so hard to keep the cult together. It was the best place I had hung my hat, the best group I have known and the place i felt most at home on this realm. Au revoir.
2. I can't quite believe we're still here. My thanks to Schattenmann, Prodigal, Don Chele, and the cadre who work so hard to keep us in business and make this the best home i've had on Bob.
3. Most fun i've had for years, but in terms of politics, drama and impact, i think Karma is still winning. I would like to see a war that managed to drag in all the nutreal very top tiers and nutreal alliances. War is so destructive, they will eventually win the game.
4. Make that three. We crave the attention. You'd be doing us a favour.
5. Locked: cascadia Not that anyone will notice ... I'm away from the 22/09 to 08/10. Thanks.
6. Congratulations on this auspicious occasion. You get one of these: o/
7. National Infrastructure Plan: Energy and Mining Strategies announced. As the security situation becomes normalised, with only very few bands in the mountains of the south and east, Cascadia looks to normalise it’s economy. Alongside the recently announced railway renewal projects, I today announce our National Energy Strategy: We are also keen to develop our mineral wealth, alongside reserves of iron, gold and rare earth metals, uranium is a key development. The Cascadian Geological Service have mapped deposits and we will be working hard to make this profitable as soon as practicable. For the time being mineral companies with owned by federal and state governments, and their workers, on a profit share agreement. Three agencies are established: - CUMC - Cascadian Uranium Mining Company - CREMC - Cascadian Rare Earth Metals Company - CHMC - Cascadian Heavy Mining Company.
8. A wire is sent to the Foreign Affairs attaché in Washington D.C. "The Republic of Cascadia has been informed of your representatives' tour of North America. We would be happy to play host to your representative, for a meeting between the two repbublics, if you can spare the time."
9. Hello. Might be useful to add my nation. King Esus - Republic of Cascadia.
10.
Viluin, you don't have to come up with an excuse to bump the thread, a simple "bump" would have done fine.
Don't be sore. He's just enjoying his exit. Would annoy me if someone was doing this to me mind, so i see why you would say it.
11.
If the country had an NHS system he wouldn't of had to worry about raising funds for needed operation, that said will see if i can throw some money in the pot.
Yeah. Seriously, I cannot believe this, it's really quite scary that someone would need to do this.
12. Viluin, This thread began with you, if I can be so honest as to say, whining a little. But then you steeled you resolve, formulated a plan of sorts and realised your strength. You are strong because you have nothing to lose, they have infra and tech that they actually care about. The best bit is you discovered how to have fun. You are a role model to mediocre, mid tier, infra bloated, war chest collectors everywhere.
13. [OOC] Can I just be clear on this... are you actuallyr RP'ing a whole new planet?[/OOC]
14.
Anyone that was in NPO even a grunt knew about this.
Yah. My thoughts exactly. Booooooooring.
15. National Infrastructure Plan announced: rail improvements As well as the forthcoming energy and industrial plan, absolutely essential to the recovery of the economy is transport infrastructure. Whilst the highway network is largely intact from before the fall of the previous government the the rail network has been the subject of terrorist attacks, looting for scrap and zero maintenance. It is essential to the delivery of the energy and industrial as Cascadia seeks to reduce energy import reliance and re-invigorate its mining industry. The funds from this are from the loan agreed with (http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=111274) with Christian Kehenna of the Northern Imperium. As a result the majority of the rail and other construction materials will come from Northern Imperium. Cascadia wishes to kick start its own rolling stock industry and will therefore seek to build and operate manufactories for locomotives and rolling stock itself, again, sourcing materials from the Northern Imperium. The benefits to the economies of both countries shoudl benefits citizens across the North of America.
16. Real shame to see these go. CoJ and CN is poorer for it.
17.
If we are going to start talking about the DH/NPO war, how about we pull in the people that were at the negotiations and know why things were delayed - only at the very end was it to do with pm nations. Don't start, this will spiral badly.
At this stage you might as well... Pwease.
18. Montana now rebel free. The interim national government of Cascadia (INGC, the newly established official title) is pleased to announce that Montana is now rebel free. Whilst 80% of areas welcomed a new and stable interim government, local gangs in several areas were happier with their small power bases and clung to anarchy. With the support of local government and people the INGC forces and local law enforcement have driven out the rebels completely from the state. Turning over those captured (numbering 430) to local officials. Around 200 rebels and 5 INGC troops were killed. The last stronghold was the strategically important Lake Fort Peck and the large hydrolectric dam, which is important to regenerating the state and reducing reliance on energy imports. Progress has also been made in Colorado and Utah, but mountainous terrain makes this difficult.
19. "Apologies for the delay in response. We have been dealing with insurgents in Montanta. We would be very happy to accept your generous offer. A full list of our purchases and a schedule for re-paying will be supplied shortly. Is there anything else?"
20. Some people are just busy. I can't get on the forums at work and my interest waxes and wains. Sorry. You'd lose some good players with a shorter time frame.
21. "My apologies for the delay, we have been considering your generous offer. We sincerely hope this does not cause offence, although we must decline, we think the global bond markets may be able to offer as low as 5%. Would you be willing to come nearer this sum? This is still a return of $100,000,000. We think spending would be as follows: - .8 bil of civil and military equipment - .5 bil mining equipment - .7 bil on infrastructure. With regards to NADU, might you able to explain further or point us in the direction of more information?"
22.
Schatt and Starfox back together. Let's see what trouble we can cause.
Oh my god what have you done.
23. "With regard to the NADU, would you be able to give an honest assessment of why you have chosen to remain out of it?", "if NATO remains a relevant force, we would like to consider membership, if you think that is likely to be agreeable to the existing members'. "With regards the bond, Cascadia requires loans or bonds in order to implement the country's short term goals of prosperity, security and investing in the export sector. We would require the loan in the currency of a large stable government such as yourself. As well as interest payments' the loaning country would also benefit as the majority of the money is likely to be spent on their exports, therefore generous interest terms are expected. We would be seeking to purchase: - conventional land weapons - conventional police and civil enforcement equipment - air defences - heavy duty mining equipment (both open cast and drift). We can let our civil servants, work out the detail of course! But in principle what terms would you be willing to give? At current prices, we would like the equivalent of 40,000KG of gold [ooc]2bil USD[/ooc], at what rate over 5 years? "
