mrklarinet
My nation link: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...Nation_ID=76490 During the past two days, while nuking an enemy, his SDI has stopped 18 of the 20 nukes that I have launched (5 on the first day and 13 on the second day). During the same two days, plus the day before (total 3 days), he has launched 3 nukes against me, and my SDI has stopped none. I do know that this is possible, but it also seems quite extreme. thedestro
Sounds possible to me,
Syzygy
I have exprienced similar results (well not THAT extreme), but my opponents SDI's have performed *significantly* better than my own. I have catched maybe 4 nukes, while they have catched at least 3 times the amount. Either it is indeed totally random, or the one on the defensive warslot gets an advantage, statistically it seems so, but as always, only the extreme cases report their experience, it may be the exact other way round in 100 other cases, but no one reports that here. enderland
The odds of blocking for each attempt should decrease as you fire more nukes. It's stupid to be able to block 13 as you say. The odds of that are 0.1%... It should decrease by 10 or 15% after each attempt, so if you block one, the next percent block is 50%, then 40%, etc (or 45, 30, etc). Gobb
Since we're playing with odds, anything extreme can happen. I'm pretty sure, though, that in the long run the SDIs thwart ~60% of all nukes.
Enterprize
perhaps there are hidden values as well.
iMatt
I was the attacker when and when my target sent off nukes, he had to shoot 6 and then got me. The next day i had to shoot only 3 before I got him. He also complained about himself having a "bad" SDI, and us (the attackers) having "good" ones. So there's your opposite case for ya. I think the odds in the HUGE picture are 60%, but as it was with events, we see extremes that players think won't happen. And technically, with 2500 nuke capable nations, and especially this nuclear war going on, if we're going to see the extremes it'll be now. But yes, I've thought there was always something wonky with the CN random number generators. As before, the same type of thing happened with events. No events for 4 months on end, then 3 in 5 days (before the events revamp). And everyone was getting those results.
