The Belarusian economy has seen a major boom, thanks to the continuing development of the Polish Protectorate. This boom marks the end of the shallow recession that has gripped the country ever since the Ukraine crisis, and is the largest in Belarusian history. The government has also announced the construction of two new international airports, one in Babryusk, and one in Barnavichy.

With the end of the peacekeeping operation in Poland, the 150,000 Belarusian troops that had been stationed there have finally returned home. They would be greeted with parades and festivals thrown in their honor. The President himself would give a speech thanking the brave soldiers for their sacrifices in order to defend the Republic, and announcing the official beginning of a Belarusian protectorate in the Masovian, Podlaskie, and Lublin regions. The reservists who had been called up for duty would be sent home, and the regular soldiers would return to their bases. Security in Poland would now be the responsibility of the Newly formed Militsiya and the Polish Authority.

The Belarusian Air Force's Mi-24 Assault Helicopters have been put on the market, due to having been replaced by the newer Mi-28. The KGB is taking care to ensure that the buyers are not considered a hostile force by the Republic.

The Department of Energy has announced that Belarus has finally managed to achieve energy self sufficiency. This groundbreaking achievement has been made possible thanks to the widespread construction of processing plants to exploit alternate sources of energy, such as biofuels, Hydroelectric energy, and and wind energy. This accomplishment has also been achieved thanks to the oil fields in Poland, and the exploitation of shale oil in Lublin. For the first time in history, Belarus is able to fully see to its energy needs.

Due to the growing chemical stockpile of the Belarusian army, it has been decided that all Belarusian soldiers are to have gas masks as a part of their basic kit. The gas masks are to be worn at all times during combat situations, and will allow the military to use its chemical weapons without fear of killing its own soldiers. While Sarin can also penetrate through touch, standard issue body armor is considered to be enough to protect the skin. For obvious reasons, none of the soldiers have been informed of the real reason they are being issued the masks.

In other news, the military has shifted fifty tons of sarin, along with a large stockpile of Agent Orange, to the Polish protectorate.

As many of our viewers know, the nation of Alvonia has shown nothing but aggression and hatred towards Belarus and its allies for many years now, and in the words of our own President "We Belarusians can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines and watch as our enemies trample over us. The time has come for us to right the wrongs of history."

With a new election cycle now in full swing, the ruling Stability party has come under attack by the opposition Nationalist party over many old topics, and a handful of new ones. One issue of note is the recent war in Alvonia, which, despite its successful conclusion, has had a great cost and has brought the belarusian economy to a crawl, bringing back fears of yet another period of economic stagnation like the one that followed the Ukraine crisis. Another topic of note has been the influx of Polish immigrants from the new Polish protectorate, which has sparked outrage from the Nationalists.

Just a few hours ago, a shocking incident occurred in which the entire Nationalist party leadership was wiped out in a large bombing at the Nationalist party headquarters in Minsk.

220px-Cordon_Minsk_blast.jpg

The KGB has cordoned off the area and has stated that it is investigating the bombings, and has not yet found any definitive evidence that points to any one party. However, a KGB spokesperson stated that "The attack appear to have originated from terrorist groups in Poland. Witnesses report that two men wearing the uniforms of the Minsk Militsiya who were talking rapidly in Polish.  Additionally, a traffic camera managed to catch footage of the two men, and facial recognition programs have confirmed that they were two former Special Forces agents from the former Polish Military."

Emergency response teams are still looking for survivors, and an estimated 100 people have been killed or seriously wounded.

The KGB has now officially confirmed that Polish terrorists were behind the bombings at the Nationalist party's headquarters, and stated that it was hunting down the perpetrators.

Due to the Nationalist party's collapse, the Stability party has won the Parlaimentary and Presidential elections by default.
