"Well then Robert, considering we're all here informally feel free to just call me Ariadne. And yes, the accommodations are perfect, you truly are showing the respect with which your people treat others." She took the glass and took a sip from it. "To the pleasure of company indeed" "As for the Mediterranean more rain, more security, otherwise it is much alike yes. It does have its advantages though that in our region there also are white winters. However regardless of how nice the climate is, the serenity of this place beats the industrialized Mediterranean, I can truly imagine why you would love it here."

"How is the Union developing in general though? I know you have been doing good from intelligence reports and that you have been forced to deal with idiotic neighbors but I would like to hear the real story and not a paper."
"We're still recovering from the war, especially around Brisbane and the surrounding area. The area has suffered much, but we're planning to rebuild everything better then ever, this continent has suffered much in recent years. We're planning on turning that around, and we have to a great degree, but it will be a work in progress for awhile longer," he nodded, taking another sip from his glass.

"I am glad though that you are enjoying your current accommodations, we tried to make sure that all the delegations would be comfortable during their stays here," he said, with a smile. "I haven't gotten to see much in the way of snow, except during my time in Timuridian custody. It looked so beautiful covering the mountains, very peaceful when it touched the ground."

"As for our neighbors, well, we just deal with the problems as they come. The early attacks that occurred from the soil of Pihana are disconcerting, and this ongoing conflict is distasteful. We are hoping to make sure this region is a bastion of stability, especially during this time of turmoil about the globe. Hopefully such dreams can be accomplished soon," said Robert, with a smile.

A few guests passed Angelika and Theresia as they relaxed on the beach, their large sunglasses keeping their eyes hidden and the oil on their sink made the two Austrians glisten in the light. Most of the people who passed them paid the two princesses little heed or if they attempted to make conversation, both Austrians tried their hardest to push the guests away. It was rare that they had time to themselves, let alone on the sparkling beaches of Australia, however, when Robert walked by Angelika had lowered her glasses to her nose and smirked as they said a few passing words and she rolled back onto the towel blushing from the sun and the warm air.

"You trying to reel him in like you did the King of Idaho-Montana?" Theresia said as she stretched her arms behind her chest.

"Not at all, I said that I would be having fun. This is how I have fun."

"Is that what you call it now?" The youngest Hapsburg said with a smirk and turned over as she heard footsteps near to her ears brushing against the sandy shore. She turned her head to see Lizzie, finally, after what felt like an hour, heading towards them. Theresia sat up and waved her down and as Angelika positioned herself prone, looking out towards the distant horizon.

"I see you two already found your own little spot in the Australian sun! Enjoying yourselves yet?"

Angelika chuckled, "As best we can Lizzie, as best we can. Rather relaxing out here and I can only imagine what it's like at night."

"Not that you'll be awake to see it," Theresia turned to the Prime Minister. "She'll be out like a light after her eighth margarita."

"Please, anyways, what's not to enjoy, sand, sun, and sea. Maybe in the evening then we can escape out of here and go see the town, no use hanging around the elites of the world all day long." Then, looking at Lizzie, Angelika frowned. "You know I really need to vacation in the Southern Hemisphere more. That's a natural tan is it not?" Looking down at her own sheen of white, the Grand Duchess shook her head. "I'd give anything for that kind of tan. Anything."

Lizzie laughed heartily when Theresia remarked about Angelika's alcohol tolerance, smiling widely. She adjusted her sunglasses as she laid out beside them, sighing as she took in the sun, before turning on an elbow to face them. "I do apologize for my tardiness, meeting and greeting down at the wharf took longer then I foresaw, and I had to speak with the Governor General before I came out."

When Angelika remarked about going out to Townsville that evening, she nodded, and said with a smile, "Well, we might not be able to get a ferry ride back to the mainland, but there are more ways then just ferries off this island." She grinned upon Angelika's noting of her own pale skin, compared to the Prime Minister's golden tan, "Yes m'dear, a natural tan garnered from living out my childhood on the Gold Coast, south of Brisbane, and romping on the beaches of Melbourne when I was with Qantas. I'm probably going to get slapped with skin cancer by the time I reach forty," she said, with a nervous giggle. "But, such is the fate of a Sheila who wanted her spot in the sun, I've been living life by the moment, most of us here down under have. Up until now, at least."

Jessica had long since retired from the main room and was a few hundred yards up the beach from the Austrians. Clad in simply a bikini she decided to wander down and introduce herself. Pulling out her bobble, her deep red hair dropped as she made her way over to Angelika, Theresia and Lizzy.

"good morning ladies, mind if I join you?"

Ariadne nodded. "I fully understand what you are talking about, as you have probably noticed from the BBC broadcasts and the like it's going really bad in Europe."she said with a sigh. "That is why I am enjoying this even more, some much needed away time from everything related to politics" She took another sip from her glass noticing that it was empty by now.

"Mind giving me another?"

"I have seen that things have been heating up overseas, we have been closely keeping an eye on the situation, but are, of course, reserving comment on such things," nodded Robert, with a smile. "It really isn't our business what goes on in European politics," he said, with a simple shrug.

"Noting that however, we did time this event to try give people a breather from what has become a world filled with tension. Who knows? Maybe this gathering will relieve some of that tension," he said, with a warm smile. He nodded on her request for another glass of vodka, filling up his own after giving her a second round.

"I do not mind at all, the alcohol is on the house, and there is plenty more where it came from," he said, holding up a second full bottle from behind the counter. "Perhaps to being in the company of peace? At least for this weekend?" he said, with a grin, as he raised his glass up.

"To peace I can always drink"she said raising her glass. "So what does your state actually think of the Athenian Federation?"

Edit:

Meanwhile Valerio had found a nice spot on the beach and was enjoying the sun while observing the other guests.

"Mmmm," he said, holding up a finger as he took a sip from his glass. He cleared his throat, with a grin, "Well, of course, I can't speak for everyone in the Southern Cross. We feel that Athens is one of the most stable states in the world, technologically advanced, big standout in foreign affairs, especially in the Med and in Europe. It is certainly a country that a number of states I know look up to and respect, especially in your region. Of course the reach of all countries and their influence has its limits, that is only natural, that being said, however, but I myself have a respect for the Federation, a respect that I'm sure is shared by many other world leaders as well."

He nodded with a smile, then took another sip of his glass.

"And what does Athens think of the Union, if I may be so bold to ask, Ariadne?" he asked, with a smile, as he took another sip of straight vodka.

"Well Robert, we really respect what you did with the continent and you've shown yourself as a country of your word towards our allies. So we think very highly of you" She said while taking another but now smaller sip from the glass.

"It was unfortunate that we had to support the UFE in its attack on Japan, but the attack against that Coast Guard ship was unacceptable. We kind of owe our existence to the UFE for its involvement in the installing of our government, very ironic, seeing as we were fighting them less then two years ago when the Communist Australians were around. Either way, they've proven to be solid supporters of our country, and I appreciate it. That being said, we have many plans for this country, and things are progressing well in this region of the world, despite the recent outbreak of violence in the CRZI," nodded Robert, with a sigh.

"Yes I know, it really seems the entire world is going to hell, well." Ariadne said while looking at the empty glass. "Robert I can tell you, this job has brought me a lot closer to these glasses than ever before, my guess is it's the same for all of us"

Robert chuckled, "Yes, with everything that is happening in the world these days, I'm not surprised. These bouts of world instability are disconcerting, to be sure, we had a lull for awhile, now it seems to have grown again. I can only pray that such instability does not afflict us, I doubt it though, we saw what happened the last time political instability happened on this continent. Too many young people bled for causes that seemed almost suicidal, but then again, it was that same cause that brought me to where I am now."

"Live for the moment, these days, I guess," he said, with a shrug and a grim smile, his face full of determination, he raised his glass and took another sip.

"Live for the moment indeed, though that has its pro's too. So Robert with the continent in your hands, what are your plans in the near future?"

After having enjoyed the sun for a while Valerio left the beach again walking around while looking for Maria and perhaps other people he knew.

"Well, Western Australia needs significant economic development, we'll probably have to put some sort of program together to help develop the continent further, I have floated the idea with Lizzie Whittaker and Xavier Diaz, our Economic Minister, of issuing government bonds for international clientele. Darwin is going to need a lot of reconstruction with the insurrection there, we still have a long slog ahead of us. But our people are determined to get this continent back to work, and an admirable, productive land. We will also, of course, be taking our role very seriously in ensuring regional security in the Indian Ocean, South East Asia, and the Pacific Rim," he nodded, as he finished off his glass of vodka.

Edit: When Robert saw Wei swiftly give a kick to the British prince, he raised an eyebrow, before cringing when hearing the impact. He quickly poured himself another glass of vodka, and looked at Ariadne, and whispered quietly, "And here's to not so painful good times," before raising it and taking a long sip.

Wei swiftly walked over to Ariadne and Robert, eyeing their vodka shots. He took both their glasses out of their hands and downed them both. "!@#$@#$ English, thinking this is still the 19th Century. What were we talking about?" he asked.

Robert just smiled delicately, and raised an eyebrow when he saw Wei grab their glasses of vodka and down them.

"You'll be happy to know that Australia cut her ties with the mother country a long time ago, Mr. Wei, we don't like the insinuation of a connection with an Imperialist Colonial power," nodded Robert, as he set another glass on the bar, "Another shot?"

"Ariadne and I were just discussing the future of this country, and the ups and downs of the world as a whole, in terms of conflicts coming and going. It seems almost like the tides, one moment things are great, the sandcastle is in the dry sand, next thing you know, tides washing up around it," shrugged Robert, as he refilled the downed glasses with vodka.

"I see that." Wei said. He motioned to one of the servants "Very well." When the servant arrived Wei placed an order, "We'll have a bottle of Johnny Walker blue, three new glasses."

"Very good sir. Your room to charge it on?" the servant asked.

"Harry Windsor." Wei replied. When the servant seemed skeptical Wei tore into him, "What, you think an Asian guy can't have a British last name, I'll have you know my paternal grandfather was a english nobleman who forced himself on my mother in Hong Kong, get us the damn scotch!" he said angrily ushering the servant away to get them drinks.

Akemi sat wide eyed behind her sunglasses at what she was hearing, feverishly taking down notes about how Wei, Adriane and Abel interacting, and thinking about how crazy all these world leaders seem to be, her education never really prepared her for this, but perhaps it was good for her to finally experience that world leaders aren't the perfectly mild mannered people textbooks and the media persuade you to believe they are. After what felt like hours of frantic writing and note taking on the events of this celebration, she noticed her interns were not as focused on the the powerful people around them and much more interested in their blackberrys and tans. Akemi shook her head to herself and made a note to have them all fired when they got back to MoG[Corp] property, she could just get plenty more if she passed her final exam she was given.

OOC
After being told I have to recognise it or some other stuff I didnt understand because like five people are telling me different things its changed for the sake of argument.
Go GM facists.

ICly,

Harry looked on curiously as Wei tried to kick him in the nuts, stepped back quickly to avoid the boot, he looked up just in time to see Wei walking away muttering under his breath.
"Strange, strange man" he mused mentally before making his way over to the bar to get himself some more beer. Grabbing another beer and giving a large tip to the bartender Harry made his way around the guests, saying hello when greeted, general small talk to which he found himself overhearing Wei charging some very expensive Scotch to his room. Sighing he walked over to the Chinese fella and the waiter.

"I am Harry Windsor, here are my papers, and ill pay for the bottle of scotch for this good gentleman here." Turning to Wei Harry smirked.
" You should of said you couldnt afford it, I would of sorted you out, ah here your bottle of scotch, have a good day" he said as he handed Wei the bottle before walking back to the bar and taking a seat.

Robert just grinned enigmatically when the British Prince picked up the tab, sipping his glass of vodka lightly. He took the moment to look around the premises, seeing the young diplomat from MoG[Corp] taking notes. He just raised an eyebrow, then leaned back in his chair and sighed lightly.

He smiled lightly, "If you two will excuse me, I'll be assisting with the preparation of dinner. I promised a friend of mine who is one of our culinary artists on staff for this event that I'd work with him at least one night of the weekend." He downed the last part of his drink, and walked towards the kitchen area of the resort.
On the beach, when the British Princess had joined her and the two Austrians, Lizzie looked up and shrugged, and said with a warm smile, "I don't see why not, pull up a towel."
