Hey, now we're getting somewhere. I'm not going to throw Ursarkar under the bus, I consider him a friend. That being said, if he was spying then Polaris is obviously right to seek to punish him. However, in my view Pacifica as a whole has nothing to repudiate. Ursarkar is no longer a member, and we did not send him into Polaris to spy. So do what you will with him. But I think you misunderstand my purpose here Chron, I am here because the Ursarkar-Polaris issue is being used as a frame by third parties to join the crowd and spit on Pacifica. That's fair enough. You do realise this isn't an NPO apology, and Ursarkar is no longer in NPO, right? Are you reading my posts, or are you still off on your tangent? The latter, it seems. WHOOOOOSH! I'm not going to get into all that again, here. Anyway, for anyone else that missed it, my point is that if we wanted to attack, EZI and disband Polar, why didn't we do it then? You can't say we would do that over a spy when we apparently orchestrated a huge war and got all our allies to attack Polar, and didn't bother to do it then.

As much as I hate to shatter the image of us stomping anything that isn't emblazoned with the Pacifican black and blue, no. Just no. You people blame us for the war against Polar last year, and we didn't attack them then. But somehow now we would roll, EZI and disband Polaris at the drop of a hat? Come on.

Ah right, I see what you're saying. And I only joined during GWII, but the time between then and GWIII was the most fun I've had in my time here. And the constant tension was key to that. But I don't really know if more spying would bring that atmosphere back. It would introduce more paranoia and mistrust, but that would probably result in information being massively restricted and everyone putting on an even more friendly public face, like what happened when Vox's spy campaign was at its height. So I dunno, I see your point, but I don't know if more spying would help to fix anything.

Really depends how the 'respected alliance' feels about it, doesn't it? If they think it's stupid then yeah, fair enough. But if they don't, then they are probably just going to join GOONS in laughing at everyone complaining about it.

I won't get into the whole 'Does NPO spy' thing, but I will comment on the rest. I don't really see the argument you are making. If the spy is an operative of an alliance then why shouldn't the alliance pay? Any info the spy gets isn't going to benefit them personally, it's only going to benefit their alliance vis-à-vis whoever they are spying on. So if the operation was organised and run by an alliance, and only benefits that alliance, isn't it a bit weird to want to only punish the person actually doing the spying?

Unless you happen to be unaligned, I don't see why you would be complaining about this policy. And even then, you may as well save yourself the effort and not bother, 'cause it ain't gunna do much good. GOONS, I salute you. Keep on doing what you do best. EDIT: Clarification

Ah, I assumed you meant the hegemony in the Karma war sense. And yes, I forgot about the GGA-ODN treaty. I assumed it was dropped somewhere along the way. Yes, but if neutrality was an ideological threat then surely a 'pure neutral' alliance would be a big target.

How so? I may be wrong, I didn't take that much notice of ODN, but did they have treaties with hegemony? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is OUT. TDO may have become sanctioned after the hegemony was slipping, but they were big, and had the image of the 'true' neutral alliance after the GPA war.

So there never was a hegemony? What about ODN? TDO? Others that aren't coming to me because I haven't slept yet?

Thats true, but all those listed were there right from the early days, whereas Doitzel wasn't. He was in IRON first, and didn't join the Order til after the GPW, sometime in october. Hardly a formative influence. So while he may have contributed to Pacifica, he can't be counted amongst those other names. EDIT: Got clarification.

Come on Chron. You know as well as I do that Doitzel's name should not be on that list.
