1.
They come from the age when allies defended each other. And quit honestly I think they'd enjoy being attacked by those allies, considering they're even calling themselves bait.
The last time we were involved in a war: there were no navies, a large nation was 30k NS, FAN was the only alliance with warchests, and when a DoW was posted, treaty partners counterattacked usually within an hour or two. Apparently, things have changed a bit more than we thought. To Ivan/NSO: I echo Bad Ju Ju's statement above. The current treaties are so intertwined that this war seemed impossible without many treaties ignored, ending up with a bit of confusion as to who is who's best friends, who are good friends, and who is not a friend. Apparently, FAN dumped the treaty thing at the right time, seeing the value they now hold.
2. 1919 in the bed of the truck, BTW Welcome to the new gov't types.
3. I agree on all points. I ended up voting FAN, for obvious reasons, though. There aren't as many of us as there are of some others.
4. In addition, TOP's flag is something that can be seen up on a flagpole. OOC: For those who asked, they cost about $100, but that is the price for a 3'x5' custom flag made out of excellent material. Going to a smaller size and a lighter cloth does get under $50 for 2-3 color designs. This is from a popular flag store around, most are about the same price.
5. Make a third poll. Class A: True Flags that can be sewn from various colors of cloth, without digital printing on the fabric. Class B: Flags that can only be made with a digital printer on fabric, so photoshop effects are allowed. There are some awesome images for choices, but when thinking "flag", as in real cloth ones (which FAN is getting soon), I find it hard to see the Gramlins' waving in the wind, though it does rock. Ragnarock's is altered to look like cloth, so it would be in Class "A", or whatever you want to call it to seperate out "Awesome Art" and "Awesome Flag". LUE's War Flag could be made with colored cloth sewn together, given enough time, so it would be in the "Heraldry Correct" Class as well.
6. Limit it to flags that follow the proper rules of Heraldry.
7. You can get an 8800GT for cheap now, and they are great for games like Call of Duty, not so much with Crysis and higher. I like the quake engine based FPS since they run on Linux, but I have a XP Box set up for Call of Duty 4/WaW. Post details of where/when. Dedicated server available.
8. Damn. That's.... just..... Cold. Before seeing that, I was unable to bring myself to shoot a Douglas Adams book. Now, it's going to the range with me.
9. I hope not! I've come to believe that is a punishment by admin. We have our Flag -Custom 46, for those who wish hoist it for 24hrs to celebrate with us. - that was the only good thing from being on that damn drop down menu!
10. The keyword here is "was". Many here have learned from mistakes, some after repeating the same ones, some have yet to learn. Like wildlife, we are as wary as you are, but won't start !@#$ if you don't mess with us. Since actions speak volumes, I won't write a treatise on that. Once the victory high has worn off (might be a while, that was some good !@#$), and the reality hangover sets in for a while, please do not assume our intentions. If you have ANY question where you stand with FAN. Please ask FAN, rather than a third party. We do not e-lawyer or mince words.
11. The bARbie, this is NOT a crime/defacement of an SP1.
12. Every time I've tried to switch out of peacemode, all my long haired hippy citizens bumrush me with "No Blood for Oil" signs. I think the switch has rusted shut or something. Those ungratefuls were recently issued home defense weapons, which caused the stir.
13. I am glad this day has finally arrived! OBGP:
14. Yes, that would be the Cliff's Notes version, without bias. I was incorrect in my statement above and must amend it. "Shorter Cliff's Notes versions of history that you may find will contain either an agenda, or zero useful information."
15. The above is about as absolutely compact of summary you will find that covers the major events from first 1.5 years of CN. There could be much more detail, though it looks like anything edited out could show bias. Most Cliff's Notes versions you may find that cover nearly 2 years most likely have a hidden agenda.
16. Very well written, factual, and unbiased. A refreshing change of the other histories I've read.
17. Congratulations! War isn't about dying for your alliance, it's about making the enemy die for theirs -- Mangled quote of Gen. Patton
18. Congrats to all! OBGP (peashooter fun):
19. I've determined that all the squiggily upward sloping lines turn into vertical lines whenever they get near that jaggy red one. How does politics do that?
20. It's quite accurate, the only thing I can say bad about it is the font size, which was easily corrected with a keystroke. Thanks for both installments! Loved The Wild Kingdom, awesome show.
21. Try installing the full LAME package, instead of just the audacity addon. That should register the DLL so it runs.
