  1. The West Antarctic Ice Sheet is now mine. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/123485-antarctic-newswire/#3302489
  2. The integration of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet into the Federation has been completed. The Southern portion of the sheet is currently being settled in four locations. Once basic construction is complete, a larger civilian population will be free to move to a location they deem fit. Incentives are being offered for the initial wave of citizens to the area. The northern region of the Ice Sheet is officially a nationally protected zone. There will be no further development in the area in order to minimize damage to the fragile location. The EGB along with a separate group of Park Rangers will be monitoring the area to keep any illicit activity out. The region will also be home to largest military base in the nation. Once construction of the base is complete, it will house many a large portion of the Army. [7/7]
  3. Everything seems fine with the treaty. It was a pleasure doing business with you.
  4. We do plan to have an integrated military base with the space station, however they will only be servicing the island. They won't be present outside the Santa Cruz islands. To reassure you, we will allow Japanese forces to maintain close contact with our forces in the area. Japan would always be welcome on the island.
  5. The WAIS Divide Research Camp is now online. After renovations and scouring of the old computer systems and physical files valuable old research was recovering which should speed up research efforts on the ice core drilling projects. All old research would be transferred onto new systems and placed on the national database. The Camp will function solely as a research station and military outpost so as not to disturb the project. [6/7]
  6. We will take you up on your offer for Nendo. While our need for the space program is not urgent, we would like to have advisors for construction so we can make use of the most efficient systems for the space center. Once it is complete, we may be willing to buy other resources necessary for our endeavors. Simply name your price and we will gladly pay. And, since we would be purchasing Nendo, would the rest of the Santa Cruz islands be available for purchase as well? With the Antarctic in control of the largest Island in the area, it would be easier to manage the rest of the islands that way. They could also prove to be filled with knowledge yet to be discovered. We would pay extra for the inclusion of the rest of the islands.
  7. We plan to use the land to build a space center to start up our space program. If the land were larger than the requested area, we may build a port city to open up trade by sea. Is there any vacant land in the Australian mainland? We shall be sending an ambassador to Tokyo soon. Construction of an embassy will begin immediately for use by your nation. And while a non aggression treaty would be supported by our nation, it is not necessary for one to be created if your nation is not entirely willing.
  8. We have currently concluded our first diplomatic talks with the Principality of Tikal. As a result, a Non-Aggression Treaty was formed to ensure peaceful relations between our nations. It has taken effect already. We have started diplomatic discussions with the Imperium of Japan. Hopefully this will find us the land we were looking for. ------ The 5th Scout Battalion reached the end of the Ice Sheet. After surveying the region, some ideal locations for construction of cities and other facilities have been uploaded to government databases. Contractors and government construction teams are being sent to four of these locations for construction of basic facilities. A program is being started to allow citizens to sign up and be the first to move to these areas after integration. [5/7]
  9. The Treaty will work for us. May our alliance be lucrative.
  10. First, we would like to maintain peaceful and cooperative ties with the Imperium of Japan. We could both benefit from having another ally. If you would like to maintain an embassy in Antarctica we would happily set one up for you. We would be happy to do anything else. On the business end of things, our nation would like to purchase lands that you protect. Since the Americas are off limits and the Azores, being the next suitable location, are being eyed by the British, we do not have many suitable locations for integrating land into our nation outside the cold of the Antarctic. The Imperium of Japan protects a vast amount of land that we might find of use for future endeavors. We would like to purchase at least 2502 miles of land, or about 4002 kilometers, from your protectorates. The land would be flat and proximity to water would not be an issue. We may be willing to purchase more land and would gladly pay more for more land. Are there any available locations within your protectorates?
  11. We're sending a teaa of diplomats to Tokyo to discuss terms.
  12. The 1st Reconnaissance Battalion has arrived at a suitable location and has constructed a small research station in the Northern WAIS. The Amundsen Research Station will be focused solely on the monitoring of the Ice Sheet and researching ways to prevent the destruction of the Ice Sheet and combat climate change in general. There will not be a city constructed around the station and the area will be heavily monitored by the military to ensure safety of the region. [4/7] ----- After negotiations with the Principality of Tikal, our nation was not able to obtain any American soil for future endeavors. While the Americas are off limits from outside influence, our nation will be looking for other more temperate or tropical regions to integrate.
  13. Greetings from the Antarctic Federation. Our government would like to set up diplomatic ties with your nation and discuss a possible negotiation for land seeing as you are protector of Oceania and a majority of Southern Asia.
  14. A Non-Aggression Treaty would work. We are willing to discuss whenever you are.
  15. While we do appreciate the offer, we must decline. We were hoping to have a land to be exclusively our own to avoid regulations that may interfere with work. We also do not want interruptions from politics to have any effect on our work by slowing us down. We will have to find different lands to house a new space center. We still look forward to cooperative relations with Tikal.
  16. The Antarctic climate is very unsuitable for many larger operations. Our primary goal is to create a full fledged space program. Obtaining land in a more temperate or tropical climate will allow us to achieve this. We will build a space center on the land along with an integrated military base and civilian housing facilities. The entire operation would be peaceful and would simply be allowing us to further our nation along with the rest of the international community.
  17. As we are all here, we hope that both of our nations may remain peaceful and prosperous. We should be able to set up an embassy for your nation in no time if you want to send an ambassador over. As for our request we have wanted to discuss, we would like to obtain some land within the Americas. The land we are looking does not have to be large, around 2502 miles. The land would have to be flat and proximity to water will not matter. An island may also be suitable. We will be ready to purchase the land from the nations you are protecting. Will this be possible?
  18. While our nation appreciates the offer from BMC, we have little use for most automobiles as the majority of transport within our nation is done by snowmobile and helicopters. If our nation were to maintain more paved roadways, we may accept the offer if it still stands in the future. ------ The 3r Reconnaissance Battalion has arrived at the WAIS Divide Camp. The station is currently being repurposed by the Engineers from the Battalion. Engineers and scientists are also attempting to recover and old research that the abandoned American station may hold. The station should be up and running by the end of the week. [3/7]
  19. The leadership of the Principality of Tikal has been invited to the capital of Wakefield to hold a discussion. Once their plane arrives, they will be directed into a conference room in the large Federal Enforcement Services building to discuss a request for land in the Americas as well as any other topics that the diplomatics from Tikal may want to discuss.
  20. We are inviting you to our capital of Wakefield for a diplomatic discussion. [OOC: Thread up in a few minutes]
  21. Greetings to the leadership of Tikal. The Antarctic Federation would like to open diplomatic relations with the Principality of Tikal. As you are Protector of the Americas, we would like to discuss possibility of our nation integrating some land for our own.
  22. The Druk Yul sponsored space program has accepted Antarctic candidates for training for the Mars Program. Candidates Cynthia Washington and Dave Arthur are currently being trained for the mission. Both are currently already experienced in Aeronautics with Washington being an experienced pilot and Arthur being a member of the Air Force. This is the Antarctic's first step to an official space program. While observatories are common at research stations, Antarctica's fragile and icy climate make it highly unsuitable for creation of a new Space center. The creation of such would be highly destructive to the ecosystem. However, with this small first step, Antarctica may receive a full fledged space program in the near future. ---- The West Antarctic Ice Sheet Expedition has now launched. All three groups are now in transit to their respective destinations. The battalions will be moving on foot and in vehicles, specifically APCs, helicopters and snowmobiles, and allowing the scientists and surveyors to map out the area in detail and take samples of the environment to give an accurate understanding of the area to Antarctic Federation citizens. More news as the teams update with the FES. [2/7]
  23. My nation's candidates are Cynthia Washington and Dave Arthur.
  24. We shall begin establishment of a Baffin Embassy right away. Expect construction to be completed in the coming months. You may send over engineers and architects to help the building meet your standards. -------- In other news. The FES has reached a decision in expansion of the nation. The 12th Reconnaissance Battalion, The 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion and the 9th Expeditionary Battalion will be venturing out into the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. The Ice sheet is to be explored by all three military groups consisting of a total of 5,000 military personnel and 100 civilian scientists assigned to each group. The 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion will be moving towards the now derelict WAIS Divide Camp to reestablish the research center and become the current capital of the region. The 1st Reconnaissance Battalion will move along the Amundsen Sea Region to conduct research of the region and establish a small research station in the area. The 5th Expeditionary Battalion will move along the South of the Ice Sheet and survey the area for potential locations for cities and military outposts to be built. All three groups are expected to launch tomorrow. [1/7]
  25. The Antarctic Federation would like to send Ambassador Karl Borg to the Northlands to begin establishment of an embassy in your nation.
