Please mark the Western Isles (the islands to the top left of Scotland) as United States land. Also, the United States of The Island is still marked as UIN on the map. My nation is on the Isle of Mann. I changed my name long ago and asked if it could be changed but it is not problem. If you could change it soon it would be much appreciated. With The Kingdom of Ireland's recent pole for their territory of Scotland; it was announced that the majority of the population of the Scottish Western Isles wanted to join the United States of The Island. The Island's Congress has taken a vote and 83% of the congress want's to accept the Western Scottish Isles. However, people of the Western Isles will not be allowed to travel to the Island until law and order is established. [b]Classified Operation New Land[/b] 3,000 paratroopers were sent to Lewis island, the Island with the largest population of 19,000 people, to establish a temporary military base and establish law, peacefully. [b]The United States of The Island The Orange House - Underground Bunker[/b] David buttoned his three buttons on his suit while he stepped out of the elevator with Vice President Robert. Two men of the National Guard saluted the President and his second in command while they stepped out. Badb was waiting for both of them in one of the rooms. The underground bunker of the Orange House was very large. It consisted of two large meeting rooms, five private offices, three bathrooms, two private bedrooms, and two bedrooms with five comfortable bunk beds that could fit ten people. In addition to this secret underground bunker, there was also a press room so the president could address the nation if something were to happen to the Orange House but it would look like he was still in an official place. A room was also under the bunker that served as a command center of the country. It included a map of the planet that could watch any missiles or aircraft that would be coming towards the Island. David went down into the bunker every once and a while because he actually helped design the interior himself. Badb was sitting in one of the meeting rooms at the head of a meeting table with her long blue hair in a pony tail. Half of the [url="http://www.archithings.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Executive-Board-Room-with-a-48-foot-long-conference-table-that-comfortably-seats-40-800x533.jpg"]long meeting table[/url] was covered in maps of the Island, military base locations, missile silos, and other top secret information that David gave her clearance for. Although the papers were cluttered on the table they seemed to have different back ground colors which made them distinct from one another. The papers around the immediate area of Badb were neatly stacked but it obviously was going to move back like all the other papers have been doing since she began. David couldn't see to well from up close but he could see good from far away which was why he could tell she was working on defensive tactics for the south. David was about to open his mouth to speak but before he could Badb said, "Hey Robert, you got my coffee?" David elbowed his friend in the side, "Your getting a teenager coffee?" Badb laughed, "One of the two smartest teenagers on the planet you mean.." Robert handed her the coffee and David sat in the rolling comfortable chair next to her, "What is all of this?" Badb stacked seven blue papers and then scooted them into a pile on her left, "This, President David, is all the information you need to defend your nation against the north, invade the north, evacuate cities, launch night raids, and black ops missions. It is just a little... Unorganized." Badb showed a side that she usually didn't let anyone publically see but she showed her soft side, "When will my sister return? I don't like it when we are apart like this." Robert gently patted her back, "She will come home when this is over. I know they are taking good care of her in Ireland... You and I both know there are going to be things that we will see that no human being should have to. You and I can process it much better then your sister can Ms. Badb, you know that." Badb nodded and sat straight up again, shrugging David's hand off her back to try to bring back her strong side. She took a sip of the black coffee and said, "I have the plans for whatever you want to do here. It's just up to you on what you want to do David. Tell me what it is and I can get you everything you need in about five minutes." David stood up and fixed his tie, "The Irish just did an aerial attack and I want to be ready to do another and hit them where it hurts. And maybe some anti-air defense? Get that for me in a few minutes; I am going into the missile control room to see if I can get the dust off of the red button." Robert laughed and walked with David to the room.

[b]Secrecy[/b] The Island has a very closed culture that, to this day, does not allow immigrants because of the old laws that the original nations had in place, No one may immigrate into the nation except from the Kingdom of Ireland. And even then, only so many immigrants are allowed per year. Also, immigrants must not be sick, must prove that they have special skills that will benefit the country, and a few other circumstances do apply. The government also has restrictions on countries one can immigrate as well but it is unknown exactly which nation's the government has chosen to be able to accept our citizens. Another thing that insures the Island's secrecy is who can come to the Island just for the sake of having a vacation. Anyone from Ireland can come as long as they have proof of being an Irish citizen and a passport. Citizens from England may also visit however they need to apply for a visa for x amount of days or weeks. Anyone from Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Venice, or Rhode Island must apply for a visa, have a passport, and must come with at least one other person. OOC: Will continue

While we have nothing to hold against Avorez, we think a capitalist party should have made it to the ballet to give citizens the option. OOC: Null vote

[b]An Island Currency[/b] The currency of the Island has never been made official. The government has had notes that they would use to trade with other nations but the majority of the Island had local currencies. President David announced that, to also help organize the nation against the north, a basic National currency will be made for the entire Island, although it will only be used in the South until the war is over. The new currency is going to be backed by silver. There will be the following bills: $1 $2 $5 $10 $20 $50 $100 $1,000 Here is a picture of the $2 bill. The front and reverse have the same image. The following is dedicated to giving a peek on the unique and closed culture of the United States of The Island. Everything here is public information. Reader discretion is advised. [b]What is The United States of The Island?[/b] The United States of The Island, alternatively known as the United States or "The Island". Originally it was owned by the nation of Monaco until power was handed over to the local people who have prospered since then. When the Island became independent, President David O'Reilly was elected as the first President of the Union of Island Nations. The Union of Island Nations was a group of several nations on the small Island that came together to form one union. However, when a convention was held to write a constitution guaranteeing individual liberties many nations in the north left the Union to found their own Union called, "The Union of People's Republics." The Civil War is still going on. With all diplomatic actions ended it is uncertain what the outcome of the Island will be. The only thing that can be said for sure is that either the South will prevail over the North or the North will do so to the South. While politics divides the Island's governments in two; it's people are still united under one odd and unique culture. [i]This is a topic that will be continued with further posts. Susan smiled at the two men, "Well I thank you for coming all of this way gentlemen. Although the people of this Island are not starving, we would love to accept any help you wish to offer. Also, nice to meet you Captain. I can assure you this airport is one of the safest places on the Island." Susan escorted them men into the warm airport and to a meeting room where they would be safe. The other some hundred men were kept out of the public eye so no one would get the wrong idea. Susan sat at the head of the table, "So gentlemen, what kind of aid are you talking about? And I am sure you came all this way for other reasons besides aid?"

Chief Diplomat [url="http://www.contactmusic.com/pics/ld/sarah_bolger_210710/sarah_bolger_5517461.jpg"]Susan Bolger[/url] was in a tight outfit that would normally be used in a office setting. She didn't choose this to impress anyone but because almost all of her clothes had turned pink in the wash. The United States National Guard were armed with their traditional rifles and bayonets on them stood still as the diplomat walked up to the other diplomat's hand to shake it. Most of the foreign affairs work had been done by the Vice President and President but they found Susan to take the burden off their shoulders. The control tower operator scratched his head at the odd request but replied any way, "Understood Avorez." The operator radioed into the nearest base and asked for two fighters to escort the craft to New Dublin International.

Classified The United States Air National Guard is currently patrolling the USI economic exclusion zone and will shoot done any craft that is not Irish or doesn't have permission to be there. OOC: If your plane comes out of no where my entire air force will take turns shooting it down. You need to contact my nation or make a public announcement

[b]The United States of The Island The Orange House[/b] President David and Vice President Robert were now both back at the Orange House. President David sat down in his comfortable chair behind his desk while Robert stood in front of it. Before Robert could get a word out David sighed, "Any minute now, the red phone is going to start ringing. I requested that the Irish bomb that factory and warehouse right outside of Ramsey." Robert stood still for a moment and then nodded, "DEFCON 1 Mr. President?" David didn't want to say his following words but he knew he couldn't wait forever, "DEFCON 1 Mr. Vice President." [b]The United States of The Island United States Air National Guard[/b] Commander Clark sat at his desk, reading over a few emails until a private rushed into his office with a letter. "PRIVATE!" the commander yelled, "HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF KNOCKING!" The private was trying to catch his breath and stepped outside, closed the door, and then knocked. The commander opened the door and pulled him by his shirt collar, "Get in here soldier." The private coughed a little while he tried to speak, "Direct..... Order... The President.... War." The commander grabbed the paper and walked over to his desk phone and dialed in a series of digits that brought him, with a secure line, to the control tower, "Control tower this is Commander Clark. I am going to give the order to launch everything we got. Stand by and be ready for the most traffic you have ever seen." One of the control tower operators spilled his coffee on himself while he woke up the other three controllers and they prepared. 20 United States fighters were launched along with the few bombers that occupied the base. The commander knew that if the north were to retaliate with a surface to surface missile attack his base would be the first target on the list and he needed to save these craft. A [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03NLMEMi8-I"]siren[/url] went off and many men and women ran outside getting ready for takeoff while the sirens blazed and search lights turned on in the evening sky. [b]The United States of The Island Missile Early Warning Center [/b] The men in here haven't been as busy since the nuclear launches in North America. Men were scrambling around while the medium sized screen on top of the world and Island maps switched visually and an automated response. "The DEFCON Level of the United States of The Island is now at DEFCON 1 - this was an executive order from The President of The United States."

I was under the assumption that I was doing a bad job with having a nation, considering this was my first one. However, someone has told me otherwise and it has gotten me thinking. Besides the fact that I have had a Civil War that has been going on way to long, they seem to think I have a very interesting country. What do yall think? Am I doing anything wrong? I know that it is my nation and I should mold it to how I like it but is there anything that other nations have done that I haven't? Or is there anything you absolutely despise about my nation? I would like to here any positive notes and constructive criticism yall have. First reply gets a [b]cookie[/b].

Thousands of people crowded around Douglas International Airport while the President's plane came into view and they started cheering. Robert was waiting outside with the United States flag flying proudly over his head. Thousands of 3x5 flags were flying while the crowd waved them. If the United States of The Island was proud of one thing other than their Irish heritage, it was their flag. Two United States fighters zoomed over the airport and circled around as the president's craft got closer to the pad. Three black-hawk helicopters came into view and landed on the helipads by the runway. The wheals screeched when they hit the runway and the plane slowed to a halt - the crowd erupted in excitement. The president stepped outside holding a five foot wooden pole with a United States flag on it and yelled out to the crowd, "God bless The Island!" He marched with his flag to Robert and gave him a handshake with and then a hug. Robert softly whispered, "Again David, people are going to get the wrong idea." David laughed and patted his good friend on the back, "I don't want to take the choppers to Douglas, let's take the train." Robert nodded and started to head towards the train station. The President is Back.

The United States of The Island is happy to know that the Holy American Empire is not gobbling up this land and is letting the North American's peacefully administrate it. This is a very big move towards regional stability of North America and a sign of definite maturity of the Holy American Empire. We applaud you.
