  1. I am going to list the 2nd Browncoats family tree (or in essence as close as I can recall to it). It's a long family tree, however I can date it back to 2006, so, this will be a good one for future reference.

    Alliance Name: Browncoats

    Founded: September 1st, 2009

Founders (Alliance they were from prior to founding the alliance): Atoms (57th Overlanders), Nintenderek, StraightupnoBull, Asriel Belacqua (Unaligned/National Alliance of Arctic Countries)

    Disbanded: Still here

    Alliance Name: 57th Overlanders

    Founded: November 3, 2008

Founders (Alliance they were from prior to founding the alliance): Atoms (Hegemony of Periphery States), Mechanus (Hegemony of Periphery States), Veneke (Hegemony of Periphery States)

    Disbanded: Still alive

Alliance Name: Hegemony of Periphery States

    Founded: March 28th, 2008

Founders (Alliance they were from prior to founding the alliance): Asriel Belacqua, Veneke, Mechanus, Atoms (all from Browncoats, the first Browncoats Alliance)

Disbanded: November 3, 2008 (officially renamed itself the 57th Overlanders)

Alliance Name: Browncoats (first Browncoats alliance)

    Founded: September 1st, 2007

Founders (Alliance they were from prior to founding the alliance): Princeps (The Intelligentsia), StarGateDucky (The Intelligentsia), Lord Malcolm (no former alliance), Asriel Belacqua (The Intelligentsia), Cookie Monster (The Intelligentsia)

Disbanded: There was no really clear date of disbandment listed, though the last statistics taken were on May 26th, 2008, and they had 22 nations. Needless to say, total disbandment probably occurred in June or July of that same year.

    Alliance Name: The Intelligentsia

Founded: Officially June 2nd, however no forums/official organization was created until June 28, 2007

Founders (Alliance they were from prior to founding the alliance): Soiz Tach, Stuart Richards, Basic Theory (all from the League of Intelligent Humans)

Disbanded: September 1st, 2007 (officially: renamed itself the Browncoats alliance)

Alliance Name: League of Intelligent Humans

Founded: Mid-September, 2006 (no official date given to me, first post on their forums is around September 20th)

Founders (Alliance they were from prior to founding the alliance): No listed Founders, and no listed alliance.

Disbanded:Officially June 2nd, technically it was a membership purge/Renaming of the alliance to The Intelligentsia.

I hope that this semi-long list of alliances dating back to mid/late september of '06 helps you in your quest for CyberNations Geneology.

  2. Pursue your dreams mate, just remember though, that you might not get the large support the others do because 1: they are already well established and have many of the people that would join an alliance with that theme, and 2: you'd be new, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, it'll be tough at first.

I'd say pursue your dreams if you can. Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you land amongst the stars.

  3. No, I do not; but I find it interesting that you didn't respond to the point: what's the problem?

I think that the problem here is, they did have a treaty (that while M*A*S*H had no record of, technically wasn't cancelled), which would be putting your allies in bad spots. Also, that Londo back-pedelled faster than an olympic athlete trying to go for an outrageous goal of fastest backwards biker, and that Athens decried the same actions they partook of here with this "raid."

Also the fact that many do not consider this a raid, but simply a war, that had no CB and also could have possibly put your allies in a bad spot.

Basically the problem was/is, people disagree with this action in general, and Athens and FoB are like "we can do what we want, if you hate it you should do something about it" until gov't later came out and said "We're sorry, but you're all dishonourable for hating our raid."

  4. You call this an even sided war? Your alliance alone, never mind FoB, is five times the size of the Knights of Ni!, and having three nations on all of them.....how is this even remotely even? And that is ignoring the rest of your fallacious statement.

You and KPCurly have officially won this thread. Congrats. Also hi hyperion, first nation you linked to was mine being raided. Slighty funny, but odd nonetheless.

  5. If you're somehow trying to spin the Karma war into being caused by CnG you'll accomplish nothing other than make a fool out of yourself.

I thought this was dead and buried, but it seems revisionism is not a thing of the past.

Revisionism will never be a thing of the past, as long as there is a past to revise.

  6. Both are offensive actions.

    Both hurt other nations.

Both have nothing to do with morality.

So I take it from your post that you acknowledge the existance of techrading and tolerate it.

See how it conflicts with each other?

    Cool beans.

Empty statements always make up for amusement, thank you very much. This thread is a prime example of it. :P

Yes, they are both all those things (though I don't think I ever said they weren't, nor did I ever say they had anything to do with morality), and yes I do acknowledge the existence of tech raiding, and it is in people's ability to tech raid. However I don't tolerate it, and try to stop it when I can. Nobody in my alliance as of yet has tech-raided, and I am pleased by that and will try to keep it that way.

Also, you say that mine is an empty statement, then you obviously don't know me, however, and I could be wrong as I don't know you, your's are just as empty as you considered mine to be, so thank you for your statements and many lulz because it was fun.

  7. If Athens wants to attack an other alliance, it is in their right to do so, so how is it different from raiding?

It is up to you how you deal with it, if you want to that is. All I see now is a lot of posturing, so apparently you don't care that much, nor do most of these people here.

It is different, not in the right that gives them the ability to do it, but the action. It's like comparing someone going insane and killing someone, to someone who plans a string of murders with their friends and kills a neighborhood. They have the same ability to do that damage, however one goes the extra mile in doing so. THAT'S the difference.

Mate, I care more than you know. However what you don't know is I care more for my friends and allies than I do my own personal vendettas. They have not expressed a wish to get involved in any way, and so I will not get involved more than the words I type on these forums. Out of respect for them, and their right to not get their @#$% kicked because I want to go bat-!@#$ on someone, I won't do that.

  8. I agree with most of what you say here, don't get me wrong.

What I find funny, is all those people bawwing about these raids, while at the same time most of them do it themselves, or at the very least acknowledge and tolerate it, like you do.

I'm not Athenian government, so I won't reply to this with regards to it's content.

They tolerate raids of a different kind. Most people wouldn't consider this a simple tech raid, it's more of an alliance-wide tech. war for financial gain. There's a difference.

  9. Very few times am I able to agree with Bob Janova on such a large level. I have always found him a good person to listen to, even if I don't agree with him though, because he always thinks things through.

What Athens did here is horrifying. It was and is hypocrisy. There is no other word for it. When Athens joined in the fight with Karma I thought highly of them, and now I know I was wrong to do so. They aren't a good alliance, they aren't one I'd like to treaty with. They are just as bad as the Hegemony was in it's hay-day.

Anyone trying to justify it is either one of those people who supported it when the Hegemony did it, or, if they fought against these types of actions, is nothing but a hypocrite.

Anyone who says anything relating to "do something about it," who complained when the Hegemony said that: Shame on you.

You want me to do something about it? I will, in my own pacifistic manner, and will make sure to note this event and how everyone individually is reacting to it. You may say "But that's not enough action" No, it's not enough action, for now, however that is not my way, to act in a brash manner. I take my time.

  10. Congratulations on making an announcement no one will read. :P

I got a personal tl;dr, so I can knowingly say: Congrats bela and all the other non-bela BC members.

-Bama (Wait, it's not Halloween anymore is it?)

It's a cleverly disguised war announcement. Who it is against, you will never find out until the war screen lights up with the fury of a thousand fireballs from above!

Also:  to mah mathiasan fwend.

  11. BrowncoatsDispatch.png

From the Office of Prime Minister

An old man walks on to the stage, in front of a large banner representing the Browncoats and the independents that he represents. As he approaches the podium in the center of the stage, he takes a small swig from a small silver flask that he removed from his large brown duster. After he places it back inside his duster he clears his throat and begins to speak:

Welcome, one and all, to this small and unruly part of the 'verse. Here we do things differently, and you may not like that, but that's why we're out here and you're in there. Out here on the fringe though, we like to party, and will celebrate for whatever reason we got.

Well today I have a reason, and for all those who want to party, you're welcome to stay, for those who don't wish to party, well, you can go on home gorrammit.

Asriel takes another small swig from his flask before continuing.

Now on to why we're here a celebratin' and a partyin'. Ya see, we Browncoats, it's been a long road for us all, but after a while in nowhere, we decided to come back. That was two months ago, and so far we still ain't regrettin' that decision. We've got our ship, it brings us a bit o' cash, I got a crew, and we've all got one simple goal: Keep flying. For the last two months, we've done just that, and we're also pleased to announce that we have done well internally. We got up to 7 official members, with one in the process of joinin our crew, went from 69,000 strength, to just over 94,000 (that's a growth rate of about 27% over 2 months), gaining a nuclear nation, with 2 more along the way, and quickly gaining wonders, at about 13 so far with more coming every month.

Asriel wipes his brow with his handkerchief and clears his throat once more before continuing

I know that to large alliances and well established ones, these markers are small, but to us, an alliance who doesn't care too much about growing the fastest, or being the oldest, well gorrammit, we say screw you. This is our party. Have a drink or go home. :)

Free rum all around for those who want any. We probably have some wine and beer too if you want that instead.

Asriel, pleased with himself after this speech, more to allies than the world in general, opens up a door revealing a large room containing rum, beer, wine, and what have you. The room is large, and it is hard to see the other side.

Rest assured: The Browncoats have plenty of barrels to fill your alcoholic needs.

Tl;dr: You're too lazy to read my story so NO SOUP FOR YOU!
