  1. Actually, I was more referring to us getting huffy, and not you. I was just saying it would be awfully ridiculous to refuse to sign a treaty with a friendly alliance for such a minute a detail.

Ah, ok, and I agree, it would be ridiculous to not sign a treaty with a friend over something like that. That is not what I meant. Anyway, I think we're just passing the ball back and forth on the same court repeating things now. xD

  2. While it is true that we do not need such a clause in order to get involved that will not stop us from entering an agreement if there is such a clause. I see no reason to get huffy about something we could care less about. Our stance on aggression is well known. If we see fit to get involved we will get involved. End of story.
Yea, well, Preambles don't really mean a whole lot either. In or out doesn't make much of a difference.

Sorry if you mistook my post as getting huffy, I was just wondering. It was more of a "did NSO add this in just to make things clear, did IRON add it in to make sure, or is it just there just because?" type question than a "lul NSO and IRON adding in things they consider useless and I'm laughing" type question.

  3. To the Admin,

I may have complained at times about things you put in, but I am still here. I may have complained about things that have not been put in, but I am still here. I don't think I have complained to you much, and if I have, I apologize, though know that we (the players) do it because we love this game, not hate it.

Thank you for giving me a reason to play a game longer than I've played any other strictly online game, a game that has absorbed 1,221 days, or 3 and 1/3 years, or 19% of my lifespan (though a lot less realistically since I don't spend 24 hrs a day on here). <_<

  4. i'm glad im not the only one of my kind, HEY lets form an alliance!!! /sarcasm

You'll find many people share your opinion. Even those currently in alliances. That is why a lot of people don't simply stay in the first alliance they find, or the first one to send them a message. It's also the reason I started a micro-alliance, got a few friends of mine to join, and we basically "chill" in there all the time.

and another emotion i might as well get out, why is it so hard to be accepted among this community?

im actually suprised i havent got a threat from someone yet

It's not that hard to be accepted in this community. With over 25,000 people, sure, there will be those who don't like you or what you have to say, but there will also be those who will agree 100% with you. Never underestimate how many people play this game and how much their views are different, and the same.

  5. First off

 are you sure you aren't defending WarBuck just because you are Gov in ADI.

    Let's see.

WarBuck and ss2342 are in ADI.

    Both are Gov.

OMFG why in the world would you contradict each other.

The man does make a point. Now, yes, granted, you do have to take his point with a grain of salt because he is in ADI, however, you do have to take things such as this into account when you are analyzing situations such as this.

I'd say his post, and his reasoning were a bit biased, considering his position, and he does have a reason to defend that of his fellow alliance-mate, so, now, what we need to do, is have someone analyze Hoo's response the same way he did, in as many different possible ways as possible and determine which sounds more reasonable.

The results would, of course, also be unable to be fully trusted, since it is biased people coming to conclusions based on biased reasoning, however I think we'd be closer to the answer than we are now.

Currently nobody really knows except for Hoo and WarBuck. You can assume what you want, and think what you want, but in reality, unless someone else has been told by both parties, no one else knows.

  6. I am trying to ask them as well. Rush is just upset because his alliance is being portrayed as scum for trying to help out people who needed it. Independent of this, he is a good guy, I'd suggest contacting him privately and you will be able to have a nice conversation and resolve whatever's up.

Aye, I get that he is upset, and that he is probably a good guy, and I am sorry for coming so harshly on him and the others, it seems we all need to step away from this whole situation for a bit and look on it after a bit of self reflection, which is what I have just done.

  7. Or maybe he really just wasnt asking THEM, he was asking the peanut gallery. Its ok sunshine, if I looked as bad as you after that comment, I wouldnt admit it either.

He really is trying to ask them. I would happen to know because I'm in 4 different IRC channels with him and discussing this very topic (including the one where he's asking them) in said channels.

Again, nice try to you too. Also, it would help me feel sympathetic to your side if you weren't being such an $@!. Just saying.

  8. It's plainly obvious what they wanted from the logs. They asked for advice and an eventual protectorate. Isn't that a suitable reason to contact another alliance?

It is a suitable reason to contact another alliance, this I am not arguing. I am not really arguing anything. Heck, I'm not even on a specific side as of this moment. I am simply repeating a question that could determine a lot, in my opinion, about this whole situation.

  9. I think maybe you should take your own advice.

To answer your question they did go to Athens, therefore, they must have had their reasons to.

Was going to ask the question, and therefore contribute, but Ninten beat me to it. Plus, I think it's probably refreshing if people see my post and think "yeah, this guy's not contributing either" because pretty much no one is.

Well arent you a clever little nipper. Your astute contribution to the topic at hand is noted. Oh, and BTW, asking "why did THEY go to Athens" is not asking THEM, its asking 3rd party onlookers. You see sir, asking THEM would be "Why did YOU go to Athens." Its ok though, I know english a tough language. Comprehension FTW!

I did not choose how he worded the question, he worded the question that way, I was simply repeating the manner in which he worded it to be consistent with him. Try again.

  10. Here is a thought...just a thought though, mind you....Ask them?

I believe that's what he's doing right now. Do we know where to find them? No. Are you being helpful at all? No. Should you shut up unless you're going to contribute? Probably, because otherwise you look like an $@!.

Also, just a thought... only a minor one mind you... Contributing to the conversation is fun, you should try it.

So your problem is with them going to Athens, and not with what happened per say, right?

Regardless, if you want to know the answer to that question, ask them.

See my response above, and no, I don't think his problem is that they went to Athens, I believe he is wondering if they did go to Athens at all, since there is no reason to.

  11. I voted trout. I recall seeing only one member there who was there since NAAC disbanded but he/she might of left by now.

He is still there. Look up "Lord Chozo." He hasn't left.

Contrary to popular belief, the NAAC never went away. They're still very much around, even if not on a unified AA.

Also, this. IIRC there are well over 100 former NAAC members still around on CN under various names and in various alliances. Also a lot of the former NAAC members are still in contact with even the ones who are no longer on Planet Bob.

This poll is a lie - the NAAC Is not back.

    Also this as well.

  12. Except the ones that never had a real sense of identity, or were ever really anything.

How can something greater than it's former incarnation be a shell of that former incarnation?

Otherwise, I would agree. There are some cases where a revival is fine, but definitely not when 99.99% of the community calls for it to remain dead.

  13. Officially Browncoats has no set number for tech raiding, it instead has to get approved through the Minister of Defense. That is because numbers are merely, like someone else pointed out, trying to prove you have morals and principles when in reality you really don't.

I would like to brag a bit though about us 'coats. Even though we allow tech raiding, to this date not a single member has Tech Raided another nation, nor have they expressed an interest in it. Why does this please me? Because I do not like tech raiding personally.

  14. I am going to agree with Lord Chozo on all of his most excellent post. I am one of those few who has been granted permission by Holyone and other NAACers to float on and off of the AA and help keep it alive. It has never died. Not a day has gone by where the NAAC AA was empty. With that said, the NAAC never died. The formal agreement died. The community spread out and, for the most part, left the AA, but the spirit of the NAAC never died, and neither did the AA.

To those saying the NAAC stabbed people in the back: Shame on you. Learn your history. The NAAC was back-stabbed by it's allies yet still stood by them, and gave a greater fight than most of her allies did even though they were back-stabbed. Greenland Republic is a good representation of the honour that the NAAC had, even if they still don't even come close to the same amount of glory.

To Jack: Best of luck to you mate. I hope you grow some balls. If you don't... well.. You'll be floating in peace mode for a lot longer than Lord Chozo has been, and he has a good reason (which isn't cowardice) for that.

  15. Wish you'd stuck it out, but it's your alliance.

It clearly depends on what you consider "success" to encompass. To be snarky about your wording, several alliances were successfully created on Red hurrr; FIRE, Crimson Guard, Cult of Justitia, The Destiny Project, The Moralist Front, IRON, NPO, Christian Coalition of Countries, Knights of Ni!, Socialist Workers Front, Soviet Union, United Earth Directorate et al.

To be more serious; yes, CoJ continues to succesfully meet its aims. We're not growing at a rate that has made us large, so I'm sure that even if your definition of "successful" doesn't simply boil down to "big" then at least in most people's perception we're not successful. However, we are keystone players in an economic bloc that has leveled the field on Red; we have more quality treaties with our 2 ODPs than most alliances with 4+ MADPs; and we have a developing internal system that is superior to the McAlliances that are outpacing us in growth yet manage to fall apart or merge after existing for a third (or less) of the time we've been around; and while we have not interested swarms of newbs, we have attracted and retained former presidents, triumvirs, and ministers of sanctioned alliances (whom I, vainly, assume to know when they've found a quality alliance to join).

I am going to agree with this man here. If your goal, as an alliance, is basically live through all troubles, keep living, and... well.. keep living, then you are a successful alliance as long as more than 1 person is with you. This is an idea that has kept my alliance going, even though we aren't large (and get a lot of bad rep from Browncoats 1.0). We, as a community have said our goal is to stay together. Therefore we are successful (though we're not on red, I'm merely demonstrating a point) in our own minds. With that in mind, many red-team alliances have been successful so far, including the Cult of Justitia.

  16. I have to agree with Airme here on the facedesking point. The only nation currently residing under the National Alliance of Arctic Countries alliance affiliation that I recognize as an actual nation of the NAAC is Moonwalkista, lead by Lord Chozo. Also, FAN is still at war with the NAAC, which I give them much <3 for because they, judging by this thread, are the only ones besides former NAACers who hold any respect for that alliance any more.

Jack Diorno, you sadden me. Your silly antics have gone too far before, and they are going too far now. Just letting you know.

  17. been nuked 30 odd times, led two alliances as a hippie without nukes. finally got one, and i can go rogue like a big boy! (not that i would ever go rogue  )

    $%&@ you WJ :lol1:

oh yeah, so this thread has some purpose ... share all your nukularr stories, the good the bad, the glowing ...

I'm right there with you. Never had a nuke until about... 11 days ago and my nation is now 1,188 days old

So, I basically beat you, or lost to you, by 11 days. Sad.

  18. *Any* other alliance, no. More than people realize, yep.

Even the first Browncoats did it. Bet people didn't see that coming! ZING!

And, considering I know who supported it when that was happening, I can almost bet I know 100 other alliances that do.

Not all alliances do, but like CH says here, a very significant number do.

  19. In an attempt to go where no man has gone before, my and my crappy 17in monitor opened up googlegooglegooglegoogle.com. What we found was an awesome tool. We decided to try and break my computer, loading up googlegooglegooglegoogle.com in each of the four windows. Alas, my computer did not break (whilst running all my other programs, of course). So, I then opened up a third string of googlegooglegooglegoogle.com's.

I found that it was impossible for me and my 17in monitor to go further, for what we found was so awful that only a picture could describe it:

    google4x4x4x.jpg

Yes, I did leave two of the boxes open to the old googlegooglegooglegoogle making some of them only 4x4x's, but, that puts a little perspective on the size.

In case you can't see it due to reduction, all you can see is about... a half a cm tall box containing, well... google! That'd be a nightmare to look through.
