  1. As a result of all of this, it appears that Bob is in for its first large-scale Cold War.

As both Splinters and Remnants seek to exercise their collective power, utilizing trumped up CB's, proxy wars, grandstanding, and other such things as we have seen recently. Recall the Knights of Ni! incident, allegations of RoK and TPF spying, and heightened tensions, among others. In all cases, global war didn't quite break out; but it was clear who the sides were and who was jockeying for position. We should expect to see more of this occurring over the next few months, including the lack of a major war -- unless someone gets trigger-happy.

    Or bored.

That's my spiel. And kids, this is what happens when you clear a day to spend on CN fighting a major war that doesn't occur. ;)

First off, want to say good essay, even if I disagree in a lot of places.

Now, as for there only being 2 sides, with undecided's in the middle: You are forgetting NpO. They definitely have enough political pull to form a "side" relatively quickly.

Also, this couldn't be the first Cold War, it would at least be the second (NPO vs CoaLUEtion) or third (if you count NPO vs AEGIS as well), and possibly the fourth (Time between GWIII and UJW).

  2. good sir. That is all I have to say about this.

This smiley: :lol1: is the best thing on the face of the planet! To replace it with anything else would be HERESY!

For this, you must be :nuke: 'd, and burned, and then resurrected because I actually  this idea of getting rid of that stupid smiley.

I'm sure you all hate me now :o so go about your daily business like nothing ever happened. Thanks.

In case you can't tell... the smiley overload is a joke. I hate posting like that. Really. Also, I voted for the :smug: smiley.

  3. Well, congratulations then on your 'near ability' to render the stratosphere uninhabitable.

Not my congratulations to be had. I'd personally like to see more 100 vs 100-type wars instead of the massive 6,284 vs 6,075-type wars we have.

Also, I like my stratosphere. Global warming and all that.

  4. As jacked though the masses may be, I sincerely doubt that the alliances in question could have precipitated a GLOBAL WAR.

Happy New Year, all, nonetheless. :)

Hate to burst your bubble, but running the treaties through: yes, it very well could have.

57th pulls in directly: AZTEC, and RIA among others to go against LoSS CoJ and Nemesis.

LoSS, CoJ, Nemesis and BC (who has run out of treaties at this point) pull in: IAA and whoever else they have. Someone hits IAA, IAA's allies pull in, someone hits IAA's allies, their allies get pulled in, etc.

It would basically end up being the war that just ended unless somebody finally said "Hold it, you're all retards, now let's go home or Citadel, Superfriends, and C&G will all team up and kill you all"

^I'd personally like to be killed by that team, however, I don't see it happening quite like that.

Either way, glad it ended both before it escalated and before more damage was done on either side.

  5. Interesting Monday morning read this made.

First, incase anyone in BC hasn't noticed whoever screen shot your forums had Eve minimized and was listening to winamp all on a laptop plugged into AC...dunno if that helps you find the Spai or not :P

Secondly, The general members that dont agree with the new government have been leaving (I was formerly 57th), For example there were 48ish members when veneke took over Nov 3rd, during the time between him taking over and Mechanus leaving the number rose to 53-54ish and has since reduced to 42. Im not sure who all left but considering they have been recruiting anyone who can breath the last 2 months. 13 nations have been recruited since Veneke took office meaning only 29 of the 48 nations in the 57th when Veneke took over are left, if my calculations are correct thats a 40% loss in members due to the way the new government has been running the show.

I personally decided to leave when IRC chat started looking like this pic http://i47.nonpermited image host.com/2mguzi0.jpg

To the friends I still have in The 57th I wish you luck, but as everyone in CN knows now the 57th is not the same alliance it was 6 months ago, hopefully someone in a leadership position will realize this before its to late.

Thanks Iyeman, though, I think we got our spy. Also, interesting numbers there... I certainly wish at times that Browncoats could get 13 members every week (Note: That's a random number and time interval, don't take it seriously, just get the jist of it) though... Then I remember that I like the fact that we're semi-exclusive and return to my cave. Also, racism isn't funny.

Well, I was trying to avoid posting in this thread, because I wasn't too excited about white peace myself and was kinda having fun with the war, however, I then saw this gem

Everyone hates me for my decision. :( It's like, everyone gets all pissy if you demand more than white peace, and then, if you accept it, everyone's pissed off that you did. I'M SORRY I WAS TIRED AND WANTED TO END THINGS BECAUSE MY BRAIN WAS FRIED!!! Kidding, I felt it was only right. :P

And if it puts your mind at ease, I do regret my small part in the bubblegum war. I've regretted it every day since I've joined this new incarnation of Browncoats. I should have stopped Schattenmann by removing him from government at least. I was stressed from other wordly things at the time though and wasn't thinking. I learned my lesson and the second time I was put in the same type of position, I made the right choice. So if you honestly have some kinda problem with me (because we can't seem to go through a BC reunion type thread with out blaming me for all of Planet Bob's troubles) then you can come to me and discuss it on IRC (although I may not be on the next couple of days) or you can go to my superior, Asriel Belaqua, and discuss it with him. Because I'm tired of these little arguments on these forums.

Bolded part at the bottom: I am not your superior, merely a higher-ranking equal member of society. I have just as much a chance of being voted into being a regular 'coat every time elections come up as the next guy. :P

  6. Of course he did. He is if not worse than you for not having done anything to stop it. The coward just let you (how the hell are you still around?) play your meager game. Are you still jealous that I found you out for the fraud you were?

Mate... It happened long enough ago that even ZZZPTM has been forgiven of the crimes. Schattenmann have long since stopped hating eachother, heck, 18 months is even long enough for ex-NAAC people (like AlmightyGrub) to join NpO and be allied to NPO, get attacked by them, forgive them, and be friends again (just not super close like they were). It's also enough time for Moldavi to fade out of mainstream politics, and then leave NPpO altogether, make NSO and become a large political figure once again.

Mate, so much can happen in 18 months, and if you are letting one little event control your entire rest of your career in CN, well, you aren't going to go very far. Sure, I know what happened, am I going to have the same opinion of the guys who did it ever again? No. You bet I won't. But I also won't hold their mistakes against them.

Browncoat spirit is partially a spirit of second chances. It seems you've forgotten that part mate. 18 months is long enough to have changed, and that was only their first chance. Not their second.

  7. @ Asriel - I'd love to... sadly the law in my nation is 21 years of age, what sort of country doesn't let its leader drink? I'll have to go change some laws.

    @ Scorch - Aye

OOC: I can't actually drink either. :P However, whoever did that one cool nation-age thing if we were going by real-life years I would be over 150 years old at this point. xD

I didn't mean to infer ye poached him. I know he's your friend mate. There were people, in the beginning, who didn't know that, which is why they reacted accordingly. Anyone after that sending hate mail genuinely hates you, but it represents their feelings, not the collective feelings of the 57th. I've got great respect for Atoms, and still a lot of respect for you. So please to mix my feelings with those of another.

Ye know what? I'll have that beer. Make it two.

Aye, sorry if it looked like I thought you were insinuating that I did, I know that's not what you meant. And agreed on the representation of 57th as well... Lots of miscommunication this time around eh?

Let's make that 4 pints and a barrel of rum.

  8. Aye, sounds like a plan. I'd tell Col to put a sock in it, but I can't order hit to shut up, only advise him to let the argument die.

edit: Pretty much seconding what Asriel said as well

I also will bow out and say

    o/ peace

You two were great posters, sorry if I offended either one of you.

As were most of you that I didn't care to quote.

  9. I'm just going to agree with Hiro, and I know I've taken part in the back and forth banter, so don't say "But Asriel you did it too" because I'm saying I did and am going to say I need to shut up as well.

Can we all just shut up and get on with our lives?

    Please?

Everyone involved wanted to end this war for a reason, so let's END IT ALREADY. White peace was declared but this forum is still looking like a battlefield. Theoroshia, Veneke, 57th, I forgive you, I love you all, and I want to have a beer with you. Deal?

To my allies: Thanks for the support, now let's go have a beer as well.

To 57ths allies: I'm sure you would've come in to help 57th, and I'm sure you would've done a good job helping them, but it doesn't matter anymore as the war is over, so let's kiss, huggle, what-have-you and have a beer as well.

To everyone else on Planet Bob: Move along, there's nothing to see here except beer and manly love.

    Just saying.

  10. Listening to information from a disgruntled former member of the 57th obviously means he represents the entire alliance's feelings. Plus, he would never distort the truth and provide a thorough analysis of our feelings toward your alliance.

Being sarcastic, of course. Just in case no one picked up on it.

Of course you've faced personal experience with it, by the way. Ye pretty much poached a member of the 57th, although I use that wording carefully, as ye two are real life friends. Understandably, those in the 57th who didn't know this would be upset.

I'm not saying his information is 100% reliable, no. I'm just saying that what he said, on top of my queries (and ninten's for that matter, yes, he got a bunch as well, and he did not "poach" anyone), gave a good enough picture to many to provide a reason behind what the guy who got quoted by the other guy who I was responding to, said. Am I saying it's hard-core evidence that you all do? No. Nor have I. I just said it does give me a gorrammed fine reason to believe it.

Also, everyone from the 57th who approached me about it knew he was my personal friend (OOC: Real life friend). That is no excuse. I think one person did not initially, and, even when I made that abundantly clear to him he still gave me hatemail for it.

Everyone else who didn't know, yeah, they have a right to be upset, but those aren't the guys who approached me about it.

  11. White peace was agreed because it was what both parties wanted. The war was !@#$@#$ stupid to begin with and this bickering in here just makes it worse, so give the no u arguments and saber rattling a rest.

I am in much agreement with this, thus why I have only responded a few times, instead of the 50 posts I've wanted to make telling everyone to shut the hell up.

While white peace is admirable and desirable, I believe that we would prefer that people stopped trying to twist this into some magnificent victory for BC and CoJ and that they would follow the conditions of the peace agreement and offer peace immediately. I believe it to be a violation of peace agreements if peace is not offered immediately and to continue attacking.

Some Browncoats who are at war have things going on that require their attention and have not been around for a while anyway. If these are the nations of which you speak, then my apologies, however, I can't do anything about it.

OOC: One of them we haven't seen since the 24th or 25th, and the others are doing things with family/school/what-have-you. Again, apologies, however I have sent them all messages telling them to declare peace and have warned them all that if they do attack they will have to pay damages.

  12. Just by observing your statements, it is quite clear that you do not understand the situation. Having been an ally of the 57th for quite some time, it is clear to me that they would never have the intention of ZIing anyone. Specifically in this case, the 57th's intention was to bring to BC the war that they requested and answer the threat preemptively. Perhaps you require remedial English to understand the situation?

Having had my query-box (if there's such a thing, but you get my point) filled with hatemail from the 57th, I can definitely see where he's coming from with the whole 57th has hatred for BC thing, and if they have such vehement hatred, ZI wouldn't be that hard to think of. Now, I could be entirely wrong, however, Mechanus has approached me saying their hatred runs deep, and I have had a personal experience with it.

Had there been an update between LoSS/Nemesis/CoJ countering and peace then I dare say you would have had the benefit of NV's nukes, not to mention mine.
And I would imagine mine as well. Would have been really interesting. o/peace

I think all three of us know that if this war had escalated any further there would be more nukes than just AZTECS. By that, I mean, this war would pretty much just be the exact opposite of what just happened in the TPF war in the sense that instead of TPF and Athens/co being the first to declare, they'd be more like last to declare, but it'd end up being the same war.

  13. If that is true. Schatt's argument still fails. Because he is insinuating that the 57th doesn't know what an ODOAP is, when only CoJ and BC (and a small number of others, Nemesis, LoSS?) knew about it. With Schatt's logic anyone that doesn't know about a certain MDP between two alliances doesn't know what an MDP is at all. I'm not trying to escalate anything, just pointing out that Schatt's logic fails miserably.

I think what he is saying is that they continue to argue that it is an ODP when it has now been announced as an ODOAP, and talked about as such in several places. I'll try not to put words in his mouth though and say no more on the matter.
