1. I noticed there's no central repository for factbooks and I like to read them, so: If you have a factbook and would like it listed here, just reply with a link and I'll add it. 2. Khislav has set forth an invitation to convene with the governing officials of it's neighbors:
Esteemed peers, This is an open invitation to:

Deutschland
German Democratic Republic
Kingdom of Crimea
Republic of Greece
Slavic Federation
Slavic Union
Slavorussian Empire
We, the Republic of Khislav, invite delegates from the aforementioned sovereign nations to travel to Lvov. All expenses will be paid by Khislav during your time in our nation. Here, the delegates should meet to discuss a treaty structured to provide unity and strength to the Eastern European powers and engender harmony and respect between our German and Russian populations. If you see fit to attend these talks, please notify our embassies in your respective capitals by no later than March 7. A first draft - titled 'Lvov Accords' - will be prepared by March 8, 2010 and ready for review by your delegates. My thanks, Valinkovo Somonov President of the Armed Republic of Khislav
3. Khislav recognizes Burgundy and looks forward to seeing great things borne of their formation.
 4. Khislav is keeping a close eye on the situation, despite their lack of influence, in order that they might learn from it.
 5. I hope it doesn't become too confusing that I'm using Khislav in both RP settings.
 6. Both Mr. Klamov and Mr. Mets took their seats. Klamov was surprisingly young. He wore a gray suit and blue tie, quite the opposite of the older Minister of Defense, Mr. Mets. Mets' gold tie and navy suit was certainly tasteful and the ring on every finger gave away his wealth. Speaking in hushed tones, the two men seemed to keep to themselves, something to be expected of any Khislavite involvement. After a time, they seemed to reach an agreement, and leaned back in their chairs, surveying the room.
 7. Khislav continues to rise. Much has changed in the past year for the fledgling nation; it's people struggled to find their identity and shortly thereafter a new nation was born. With the ratification of the New Constitution of Khislav on the horizon, the government has set down to discuss administrative divisions within their confined borders. As they studied demographics and genealogies the special committee came to an astonishing discovery: the populations of two local oblasts consist of ethnicities not at all dissimilar from the mixture found in Khislav as a whole. These two oblasts are currently known as Chernivtsi and Ternopil. To the government of Khislav they are called Chernovski and Ternopol. The High Council suspended finalizing the constitution, leaving the temporary charter in effect indefinitely until they reach a decision concerning how to handle this news. Surely the Slavic Union, their motherland, had already given up much in releasing the three oblasts on it's western border. In their wisdom, then, they would certainly listen to reasonable compromises and/or requests. The opportunity was golden. Too valuable to pass up, the High Council voted almost unanimously to offer to the Slavic Union a deal. The drafting of a Mutual Defense Pact would hinge on the loyalty of these two oblasts. To that end, the High Council called for a plebiscite vote in Cherinvtsi and Ternopil. Khislav feels that it's claim is legitimate, but also insists that there is no hostility intended in it's offer. The morning following the international announcement, Governor Somonov himself boarded the executive Khislav One jet (a converted Kv-76) and traveled to the Slavic Union capital of Minsk to meet with the Belorussian government on the matter. His official statement was standard reassurance that Khislav, as a nation, had no intention of demanding anything from the Slavic Union and that this was to be a simple matter of 'non-standard' diplomacy among Russians. "The importance of self-determination cannot be emphasized enough," he said just before boarding the aircraft. "I am only doing my part to ensure all of our people have such a right, unmolested and without fear." Whether or not the Slavic Union, or even the international community, recognizes these claims is another matter.
 8. "Actually, we rely on the instability for it's excellent handling characteristics, but a bit more stability couldn't hurt," Alexei said, rubbing his chin. "And it depends on the thrust RD932 puts out. Just two might do, but we'd need to test them anyway, of course. Very well. The Germans haven't offered us anything specific yet and have said nothing about the Kv-300, so rest assured that your part in this project is cemented. All we need to do now is talk figures and I don't doubt that we can reach a good deal for the both of us."
 9. "Mr. Pillai! A pleasure," shaking the other man's hand tightly and vigorously, he nodded with a smile, being sure not to seem too excited. "While they unload and assemble the demonstrator, let's talk, shall we? I've been told the Germans are interested in helping us as well and I just want to thank you for your offer of collaboration. But I'll get right to the point. We need engines and we need suitable avionics," Alexei Simonovich went on as they walked toward a large hangar, his assistant in tow. "Wind tunnel tests show that the Kv-300 will be unstable in flight. Fly-by-wire will be essential. Here," he handed Madhavan a book, inside which was a lengthy report. "We have detailed the parameters of the engines that will be required. The craft needs at least three, but the nacelles are prepped to receive them at your discretion."
 10. Indian Ocean, Cochin Airspace The burgeoning Kv-124 lumbered through the sky, miles of ocean in every direction far below. In it's cargo compartment lay the only example of the Kv-300 that existed. Although government contracts made up the majority of the EAA's business, this was the future. It still needed avionics and engines, of course, and the carbon composite airframe itself was beyond his company's ability to mass produce. In the crew cabin, Alexei Simonovich lifted both arms and folded his hands behind his head, dreaming of the future. His future. The company's future. His son's future. Alexei was getting old; his hair was greying and he had crow's feet and smile lines. "Sir, we'll be on final approach to Hyderabad in half an hour," the pilot said, turning to regard the chairman, who only nodded absently in reply. His schedule was suddenly looking quite busy. After the large jet touched down, it's heavy gear skidding as the wheels sped to catch up, he headed down into the belly of the 'Condor'. The wings of the Mach 2+ business jet had been removed, and were arrayed parallel to one another, wingtips pointing in opposite directions, alongside the fuselage, and the tail of the was on the other side. A clipboard arrived in his hands upon the insistence of his executive assistant. He leafed through the pages. "The Marshall Islands?" He said in an uncertain tone, lifting a brow. "Yes, Alex," the blonde woman with cool blue eyes replied. "The Alvonian government seems to be interested in a partnership." "What did Lvov have to say?" "They're skeptical, but are interested in what could become of this," she replied, taking the clipboard back from him. Classified Communique for Alvonia Our representative should arrive in a few days. The EAA has been receiving a great deal of attention lately. We apologize for any inconvenience. Communique for Lufthansa
CEO Mayrhuber, We would be honored to find ourselves in league with a juggernaut of the world of aeronautics! Chairman Alexei Simonovich is a busy man as of late and I will be coming to meet you in his stead. I have his blessing. If you wish, I can bring along the sanitized schematics for the Kv-300 for you to review. Unfortunately, corporate and government policy will not allow us to reveal too many specifics before an agreement is reached, but we hope this won't be an inconvenience. I should arrive in two day's time and look forward to meeting you and yours. Regards, Boris Dashkov Director of Operations, Eagle Air Arsenal
11. The ambassador to Lacedaemon, Mr. Kalmov, and Minister of Defense, Mr. Mets, will attend the SALT talks representing the Republic of Khislav. Mr. Mets will arrive aboard a Kv-76D 'Crow', specifically arranged for diplomatic missions, then meet with Kalmov at the embassy in Lacedaemon. Once they have conferred with eachother concerning the actual position of Khislav regarding foreign relations, they will arrive at the talks.
 12.
This is the point where I tell you that realism is key to having a successful roleplay. This is the point where you say "BUT IT ISN'T FUN" and then I'll tell you that it'll be even less fun when it stops existing because everybody and their mother has a 50 million man army, 50 thousand tanks and is nuking the hell out of each other with super powerful planes lifted straight out of a sci-fi movie. 1. It changes everything. They did not force a superpower to withdraw - our own people did. 2. Key point is that they still exist thanks to the Chinese, who is on the verge of becoming a superpower. They would have lost without assistance. 3. They did not force a superpower to withdraw. They fought off the Russians with the help and backing of us. They would have lost without assistance. If your point is to say that you need to make friends with a superpower, you're doing it in a very bad way.
1. They did force a superpower to withdraw; they made the war last longer than the superpower's people wanted. They were the cause. The USA withdrew, the USA lost. It doesn't get any simpler. 2. China is not on the verge of becoming a superpower. They're behind the technology curve, are one of the least stable nations in the world, and have no viable navy. The UN/USA did not defeat North Korea, so the UN/USA lost. 3. And yet they did all the fighting. That's how wars are won - materiel and money are only one factor, the actual combat the other. The Russians withdrew, the Russians lost. Again, it's really very basic. It's not about what could have happened, but what did. So I actually have two points: being a superpower means very little, and if the little guys fight smart, they can win anyway.
 13.
All of them are buds with other superpowers, however, and without that friendship there would be no North Korea any longer, I'd wager, but I could be wrong.
And that was my point from the beginning. If you're not a superpower, you make friends with one. Lol
 14.
1. The NVA won because they won over the people of America, leading to the 1960's 2. I don't understand how you can begin to argue that North Korea has come anywhere close to winning the Korean war. They are a terrible nation and accomplished exactly 0 of their goals in South Korea. The only reason we don't invade them with the UN again is their readiness to nuke the ever-loving hell out of South Korea 3. They beat the Soviets because we funded and armed their opposition, the Taliban.
1. Doesn't change anything. They forced a superpower to withdraw. A victory is a victory. 2. And yet they still exist (thanks to the Chinese) and are still sovereign. The war is at a stalemate despite the fact their chief enemy is a superpower. 3. Doesn't change anything. They forced a superpower to withdraw. A victory is a victory. EDIT: I agree with you - that's what I want to see changed.
 15.
Those examples weren't exactly 'creaming'. They survived. Afghanistan is currently an insurgent-filled, corruption-choked nation with a poor economy, with a coalition interfering. North Korea is currently internationally sanctioned. Only Vietnam has had success.
1. The NVA won the 'police action' that was Vietnam, the USA lost. 2. North Korea (a regional power) held their own against the USA (a superpower) for longer than anyone expected. Because they were crafty, they technically won the war - even though it's not even over. 3. Afghanistan was an insurgent-filled, corruption-choked nation with a poor economy before the Soviets invaded (which is what I'm talking about - a Cold War-era campaign, not the one we're in today). And they beat the Soviets.
 16.
Canaris, im not doubting that he knows what he is doing. But being the SOLE leader, rule writer etc of an RP is silly, bordering nuts. Which is what he has done. and the redtape on this RP is gonna make doing anything harder than getting the Government to actually do anything productive =/
Not really. It will just keep people from pulling things out of their rectums. A group-think can also lead to just as much red tape.
 17.
Because that really doesnt. Ive not been there as long as the others, but its a working system, created by a number of people. Not a single guy.
Arieg knows what he's doing. We go way back and we both have an unpleasant history of having to deal with people who have zero clue what they're doing. No, I'm not saying anyone here is like that - as far as I can tell - but it's better to be safe rather than sorry. I will agree, however, that the current numbers as they stand... don't make sense. If your nation uses compulsory military service (like Israel or Sweden) and is belligerent, the numbers could be far higher.
 18.
Ive been saying this pretty much all day, it restricts the freedom of imagination and creativity.
So does basing your CNRP nation on your IC nation, yet you deal with that (I'm assuming).
 19.
Anything below a Major Power would be, to a superpower, beetles, unless they bum rush the Superpower with ten other nations.
That's largely untrue. Look at Afghanistan and Vietnam, for example. Superpowers were creamed by what were effectively micro powers. Korea is another good example. A superpower versus a regional power who played their cards right and had backup from a major power (China).
 20.
You've effectively limited the RP of major powers so that the creator, mapmaker, and a largely inactive RPer can be the Biggest and Baddest. My early RP ideas have been either stamped out or restricted as a result. My military will effectively be stretched thin over a large nation with a burgeoning population. The three superpowers, together, can have up to 7.5 million active soldiers, while the four major powers will only ever be able to reach 3.4 million, together. If a rare 1v1 conflict pops up between a superpower and a major power, not only will the major power, most likely, be technologically outclassed, but outnumbered anywhere from 2:1 to 3:1, no matter the population of either nation. The scale seems to be tipped ungodly in the favor of those three people. I, honestly, think status should be decided by RP quality and ability to actually post more than once in a blue moon. Sargun fulfills both of these traits, but I have no idea how Arieg RPs, and I know EVR enters periods of not posting.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record: numbers alone confer no advantage in battle. You're also thinking too small. A superpower has to police it's own borders as well and will have more enemies than the major or regional powers (unless the government of said smaller powers do something incredibly stupid, like pull an Iraq, in which case they will be Iraq'd in turn). Everyone here has equal technology, to boot, so the advantage of having more machines and men is mitigated. Any nation which attacks another with overwhelming force is just asking to be invaded by someone else.
 21. Wrong thread and then a double post. Somebody stop me! I don't need help per se, but I do need someone to proof-read my vehicles post and make sure there are no errors in my format (you know, missing bullets, jacked up spacing, that kind of thing). http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=81739&view=findpost&p=2212950 Please and thank you.
