Actually, Cloakas left Echelon a while ago for Erebus - so he's not another cause. We did have an older nation quit the game though.

That's just ridiculous. You have more recruits than Echelon has total members. Just try not to have your ANS drop to as low as it was last time Edit: Also, I just realized that if Admin hadn't lowered the sanction requirement to 200 members, there'd only be 13 alliances eligible for a sanction... and TPF wouldn't be sanctioned. Dang.

Now, this may just be me, but I think GATO had a worse time than GPA.... and Atlantis did so bad this year that they're not even an alliance anymore. (No, Hyperion doesn't count)
