  1. I have a guy named Caustic you might want to talk to
  2. I'm not so sure I need a nemesis at this moment, I'm still planning next round and getting ready for it.
  3. Before this gets to far off topic I'd like to bring up a few things. In one of the fastest collection of alliances in the history of TE Lonewolfe organized a massive military strike on a Bloc that was set to Dominate TE, with his goal to be solely to destroy his long standing rival, Tiberius. This should be remembered as one of the most brilliant moves ever made in TE. If you feel used by Lonewolfe remember this, if he used you that's on you. He was skilled enough to get you to do what he wanted, and managed to break his nemesis. That's the most incredible accomplishments in rounds. Lonewolfe, I'll miss you. I've talked to you many many times, between us even as rivals we developed a respect, even a friendship. I saw quickly what you were doing early in the round, and for the record attempted to warn a few people, including Tibs ( ironic as it is, I nearly thwarted Lonewolfe and kept Tiberius in power who at the same time Lonewolfe was trying to destroy Tiberius, Tiberius was planning to break TPF.. I guess I'm glad that he didn't listen to me ) As a rival Lonewolfe, I recognize you as an equal at the very least, I think one day you'll be back. As far as Thaisport goes, I know the man, I like the man, and I fear him. He and I think alike on many issues, and think differently in extreme directions. He and I have had discussions on who would come out on top between us, just as a theoretical discussion. The answer is.. neither of us know. We'll find out it seems In any case this is the best round MHA has had since they were on top. o7 LW o7 Thai o7 MHA Good job to all of them, and good luck in the future. The Phoenix Federation is still here, the Phoenix rises to any challenge, and we'll be there allies or enemies for a long time to come. I'm looking forward to Thai becoming more active... this is going to be interesting
  4. It's only dead if it's members want it to be, and that's something neither you, nor Caustic can speak for or has control over. Just as Burning Glory nor Wiz nor I have control over whether TPF dies, if every member of the Gov left FB the members would pick someone new, create a new alliance under a different name and move on. Here's a real ironic statement, Tiberius did just this. RE Fragmented and he picked up all he could and started a new alliance. The same would happen under any AA under any system. So would any alliance survive if it's members want to play TE, because in the end. It's fun, at least that's the idea.
  5. I'm not sure if we reached the trust stage yet, I still have to fully gauge what level of devious !@#$%^& you are Caustic but then again that doesn't mean anything either, I lubs Hisk, and I don't trust him farther than I could throw him. tallah feel free to quote me any time any post.
  6. I think this is the most positive post I've ever seen on the OWF, it should be flagged, marked and stickied.
  7. Welcome to being a Gov member in TE Caustic, essentially most if not all the people who post on the OWF are Gov members or deputies of Gov members, it's what makes this thread so interesting, I've seen threads gain upwards 2000 hits, but as far as posters here goes? It's down to about 50 people, if that, that actually post here. All I can tell you is that after a certain amount of time, once the hanger on's and slackers leave your AA, you end up with a strong core that while they may not love you, they respect you, and will follow you into anywhere, even into the mouth of hell itself. Just in retrospect I'd like to point out that I led my Battalion, of about 30 nations, with a total nuke count of 11, we hit an alliance with 44 nuclear war heads. I knew as soon as we hit that nuclear anarchy was a given, I knew that and I did it anyway, and my Battalion did as I asked. Why they did it still remains a mystery, many ways in many places I've seen people follow a leader, for good and bad reasons. The important thing is that there is a reason for everything Caustic, some people will leave, some will come, but it's age that really adds stability to TE. It's hard to maintain an alliance after admin nuke, takes a lot of work. You haven't even had to deal with that yet, just wait. However I have no doubt at all that eventually Frostbite will have the same solid core of members that TPF has, and that membership will follow you or your officers into hell just as quickly. Whatever the reason is, you'll give them one, and if that core approves of your reasons over time, you'll become a solid, unshakeable, unbreakable alliance. MHA is a great example, TPF is too, RE took some hard knocks this round, and it's debatable which set of "core" players went where, and what that means. I do know that both Folger and Tibs got some of that hard core, and that split may cause problems down the road. That might perhaps be the reason I hit those top nations in Priapism, I knew it would be 24 hours till my ruin, but I did it anyway. It's just a game, but real people play it, it's easy enough to read here how even the posters here, most of which have risen to Government positions in there respective alliances, get angry, hurt, annoyed, or actually on occasion lose it totally. Over a game. Real people can get hurt, at least a little bit, emotionally, if their nations are ruined or don't turn out as well. This is grown up lego's Caustic, and a lot of the people who play it aren't all that old, relative to me anyway. You ask a lot when you send a person's creation into war, a creation they spent two months on. If people can get obsessive about star wars figurines, they can get obsessive about this. I think SE must be a bit different, in that it's unlikely that a person's nation will be utterly destroyed. What's more there is no time limit. No matter how "dead" your nation is, you have all the time in the world to rebuild. Not so in TE. So I suppose the point of all this is that at the end of the day pick a couple of people you think are reliable, forget about the politics, and put them into positions of power, if they screw up, demote them and pick someone else. At the end of the day the Gov doesn't make the alliance. That core group of players does. That's what Frostbite needs more than anything, when I hear about "Four AA's in One" that's an idea that has to go straight out the window. You are Frostbite or you are nothing. In TE dual allegiances don't work, because you have to have that group of nations that will follow you into hell, otherwise you're just a leader in name, incapable of organizing anything more than a number on the alliance charts, and will eventually be nibbled to death by ducks as people get bored and drop out, change alliances, or a number of other things. That's just my advice anyway, and for once I've abandoned my "Game Persona" and posted what I really think. Mostly I'm doing that out of respect for you Caustic, you and I got to know each other a little bit this round, and I think we both benefited. The other reason is to remind an often said, but nevertheless often ignored is that there is a difference between real life and a game, I'm not saying people can't get hurt here, they can. Hell we have a few cross overs from the utter freaks that populate World of Crackcraft and those people can go absolutely mental when their pixels get poofed. Point is that if people aren't having fun, they won't play, and the point of this game is that it's a social game, part of what Government for alliances does is make the game fun for others. Make TE fun for your members Caustic, and it doesn't matter what happens, what size Frostbite is, what you do, or what you don't. If you make it fun then you'll do fine, if it isn't fun, the Frostbite fails. It all comes down to that. PS: Yes, painkillers again, long $@! post
  8. Lurunin would have me ZI'd beautiful, can't afford that. Plus he's one of the best fighters in my Battalion, and one of the best members of TPF. Can't afford to lose any of that, it's nothing personal you know that
  9. Would have been a good war no doubt, whoever it was you were trying to find one with
  10. I concur, you are much more moral than I am, and hope you always remain so. I'll keep my opinion of morality to myself
  11. I'm not so sure that Bravery doesn't equal stupidity sometimes, I've seen citations for bravery given out for things that were utterly stupid, but brave none the less. Edit: Also MHA... do not underestimate this alliance's brilliance. Lonewolfe impressed the hell out of me, dismiss Hisk at your own risk. Thai is my friend, he's a great guy and probably the number one person I challenge my intellect against, to which I can never claim to have ever been a victor ( or a loser either, the game has no beginning or end between us ) however to say that MHA has only Thai ruling it that's competent is inviting some severe disaster upon yourself. I know of all alliances as they current stand, MHA has the only Government that I'd come close to comparing to my own ( sorry Folg, you got some good guys but it's still new and unproved plus RE is still rebounding ).
  12. I'm not sure what was funnier, this post or the answer to it. As far as bravest, I'm not sure if it's quantifiable. Courage is somewhat hard to judge, Reagan said "A Hero isn't necessarily any braver than another man, he's just braver five minutes longer" so this poll is 100% subjective, and I'm not sure what quantifying opinions is supposed to accomplish. Ah well, at the end of the day the OWF is 99% entertainment 1% substance anyway. Edit: And man it does suck that every time I succeed at something it makes Loch angry lol.
  13. Wow missed alot in a few days Pops I can't replace you because you moved into the 1/1/1% group sometime during this round Caustic I can't really debate with you because I understand you so well, and vice versa, we'd just be going through the motions. Celtic Armies weren't not technologically inferior, go back and read Caesar's own memoirs and you'll find that the Celts had a type of armor ( a combination of ring and scale mail ) that was superior to the Romans, their swords were of cast carbonized Iron, could break a Roman shield or break a Gladius. They had already perfected the shield wall formation which was very effective against the Roman Pila, and used siege weapons ( Mangonels, Ballista, and Rams ) as well as being better than average Sappers. Where the Celts fell short against the Romans was tactics and Logistics. Throughout history this has been pretty well a Common Celtic shortcoming, even as far out as the Jacobite Uprisings the Scots could quickly put a army in the field, how long they could -keep- it there that was the always the question. Caesar beat them in the end because he took advantage of the two weaknesses. Celtic Armies were usually made up of Clan Warbands lead by a chief or champion, these leaders lead from the front which ment that the attrition rating amongst their smartest and strongest was particularly high. That and the double seige that he broke out of was brilliant. He sat their and dared them to attack a heavily fortified position, which they would have to do, as they were unable to keep there large Army in the field long enough to outlast the Romans. Brilliant analysis by Caesar, the fact that their best General wasn't sitting in the Besieged city but was rather on the outside part of the double envelopment, things might have gone differently, or if when the Celts sacked Rome ( 700 BC ish ) and hadn't been bought off and instead just razed it, the Celts would have been better served. As far as this war goes, I fought hard, I'm nearly in Bill lock, and I think I'm more or less destroyed, having my third nuke dropped on me today. I think I angered someone considering how many nukes have fallen on me
  14. I have heard Red Ranger was hit and surprised, that's to be expected. He's a very solid leader, one of my squad leaders. However he just came over when RoWN dissolved and perhaps RoWN hasn't been involved in enough big wars to have been nuked before. The first time you are nuked you do have this moment where you go "What the hell?" but if Red Ranger did say it I would like people to stop mocking him for it. He's MY Battalion Officer, I promoted him myself, and I'll stand up for him. We all had a moment similar to his at some point in our TE experiences, give him some slack he's a good guy polite in peace and war and a great addition to TPF. Oh and btw Randy, I'd like to give you a salute, I can't even remember the reasons we quarreled last round, and you make a good amount of sense. I'm adding you to my 1/1/1% group. PM me if you want to know what that is.
  15. Should have been more specific and said Imperial Rome, though Hannibal was brilliant, then there was the amazing defeat the suffered when so idiot of a general who's name I can't remember marched them all out into the desert to be shot at for three days by horse archers then wondered why lost.
  16. Then yep I completely support your beliefs I'm of the personal perception that it is all a huge genetic joke on us anyway, on a species level men are less important than women to maintaining a population dominant enough to continue existence, 90% of males die in some freak accident, society takes a few generations to recover, if that. Reverse it and our species is pretty well doomed. So, men are hardwired to know that from the point of view of the species, we are inferior, and for a couple hundred years there some societies ( I won't say most until the late dark ages/proto middle ages in Europe ) men responded with a typical inferiority response, namely as a whole we have bigger muscles so we will make the women do what we want. In the history of our species it was a relatively short time, hell it scared the Romans so bad to have to fight nude female warriors amongst the Celts and Germans that they lost nearly every military confrontation with them up until Julius Caesar actually put some backbone into his personal legions and defeated the Celts of Gaul, even then Rome never did quite manage to conquer all of Brittania ( Even below Hadrians wall ) and never did try to extend their empire past the Danube into north east Europe ( Except the Battle of Tuetomborg forest perhaps the largest defeat in Roman history in terms of standards lost ) Long answer, but yea that's my explanation anyway. Though I tend to be a more "There are my people" and "There are other people" and only my people really matter, whoever they are. The other people can just do their own thing until the get into a problem with my people, in which case they have to deal with me. I suppose Genetically that makes me pretty male.
  17. He's more in that 1/1/1 % category ( wish I could accurately display powers on these forums ). If you don't know what that category is, then you don't really need to know, ignorance is bliss. Though if that was an audition... you're actually doing quite well Mayzie
  18. It's kind of hard to put names on every alliance, even though it doesn't apply, I guess the Fellowship might be Romania or something..
  19. I've read this four times now and I still have no idea what you are referring too, or what you are talking about
  20. That would be both of The Baby and I's nations with fallout all over
  21. If your definition of a feminist is that no one should be judged by their gender, that equal work = equal pay, and that a woman's place is anywhere she wants to be then I would agree with you 100% My problem is more with neo-feminists: the one that tell women what they can't do. They "You can't do that or you're betraying the sisterhood!" or something like that. Freedom of Choice is just that, freedom of choice, and if someone is happy being a housewife or a stay at home mom if it is by their choose and not some bully of a pig pretending to be a man trying to force her to do it ( death sentence in my book), then who's to question their choice? I always believed I was a "true" feminist in that I respected every woman's choice to be whatever she wants, and to rise as high as her abilities take her. ooc: The person I referred to before argued that because I believed in the freedom of a woman to do just exactly what she chose made me an anti-feminist, and that certain aspects of my personal lifestyle ( that I will not discuss here for the fear of being drowned down by bigots ) made me even more so. I can't remember her name but Clash was there back in the Skyline days backing me up, like he always has. In case anyone doesn't know, I consider Clash family, the older brother I always wanted and never got. He's the one person that when I was really at my worst state ( aside from my lovely blushing red head of a wife.. who also I might mention is Clash's ex GF from many years ago ) he was there for me. Out of all my friends he was the only one, so that tells you some of the love I have for the man, he might smack me around some, that's a big brothers privelege, and we might disagree, which results in said smacking around. I just can't remember her name, all I know is that she made this huge long post about leaving the forums we were on "for ever" and then was back a week later. Anyway long irrelevant story, my pain killers are really kicking in, I'll blame them as usual ooc:
  22. You're more than welcome, just a simple truth my dear. I'm an old fashioned chauvinist I guess, I still hold open doors, pull chairs out, and usually carry them over mud puddles. It takes someone getting angry at me for being all those things that I can ever really get angry with a woman. I know that's unequal treatment, but in my case I think that the woman get's the better end of the deal
  23. Truth! Though I can't even get e-mad enough you to make it work out, I just couldn't really seperate IC and OOC there.
