Conti, The 18th August 2009 Archives Ident 2009/008 The Bailiwick has recently been engaged in a political struggle to reassert its inalienable right to remain a free and sovereign state. It has not done so without allies (Iberian Pact members: Scotland, Euzkadi) and friends (Viniland and others) whom we thank for their unwavering support. We have survived threats of annexation and obliteration yet today the Tricolour flag (black white red) is still proudly flown in every village, town and city of our land. Today the struggle is over, our existence undisputable. In the light of the recent detente, the above emergency legislation as now been rescinded. Details are as follows: The Council of Ten’s emergency powers are rescinded in compliance with the Instrument of Governement. Border patrols have been scaled down. Daily border control duties have been handed back to civilian units and the Brittany Company. The Naval Infantry Regiment will resume standard home waters control operations. We have welcomed news from the Chimairan Republic that the most nationalist faction of heir government had been sidelined. And we are a forgiving people. Should the new Chimairan Republic’s government express the wish to normalise relations between our two countries, Conti is willing to discuss a treaty of mutual recognition. As of the 9th August my last post was barely 14 days old (26th July). I'm willing to believe it was just a mistake...

King Penshuk then cedes the Channel Islands to Conti (hence the reference to the island of Great Britain reunited) . By the way Scotland's protectorate in the Iberic Peninsula are former possessions of the late Welsh Empire as well... Now if you want further evidence, you can freely ask Scotland directly.

I'll repeat myself although the matter is vastly documentated in the previous pages of the thread. I've been inactive from the 27th June to the 15th July (due to holiday), well within the 25 days of inactivity frame. I'm not "claiming" land, I continue RPing with the one I acquired from Scotland on the 14th June. Read again the original DoE posted on the 14th July. RL Channels Islands are explicitly mentioned. Both the Channel Islands and Brittany, then scottish protectorate after the demise of the Welsh Empire, have been ceded by King Penchuk on the 14th June 2009. Both are still territories of Conti today. End of the matter as far as the Council of Ten is concerned. May peace finally prevail in Europe. Regards OOC: King Penchuk's original PM still available. The United Netherlands and The Empire of Krieg's respective diplomatic corps are either ill-informed or poorly trained. We are please to remedy this situation by sending each regime's represenatives a copy of Conti's Declaration of Existence issued on the 14th june 2009 which predates that of their young nations. Bordel patrols to be intensified until the mayhem in France calms down.

Well I've been "purged" because Elrich von Richt claimed a land he was not entitled to by arguing I had been inactive for 20 days. Which was false as demonstrated above.

Conti, The 17th August 2009 Archives Ident 2009/007 Following the blatant act of aggression of the combined forces of the Krieg Empire and Chimairan Republic the Council of Ten has ordered the closure of Conti's borders on the mainland. The Brittany Company which is entrusted with the administration of Brittany has been instructed to assist the Military of Conti in securing its borders. The Naval Infantry Regiment has also been instructed to step patrols in Conti's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEC) and in the immediate vicinity of the Island of Conti itself. The Great Council of Conti has unanimously condemned both aggressors, the active and the passive alike and passed an emergency decree granting the Council of Ten full legislative powers until the crisis is resolved. Just come back from holidays to see that the Chimairan Republic has illegally claimed Conti's terrtitory. My last activity on the forums dates back to the 26th July as seen HERE Given that Elrich von Richt posted his claim on the 9th August I don't see how he possibly concluded that I had been inactive for 20 days. Besides my understanding is that the inactivity period had been extended to 25 days to reflect IG changes... I'm back, please reinstate the Bailiwick of Conti on the World Map, as shown above (RL Channel Islands + Jersey).

He had been nominated by the Great Council to deliver in person a letter to the Head of State of Preußen. "Ministerpräsident, he began, I cannot stress enough the importance of this question for Conti. Should you agree to open negotiations, I have received full mandate from the Noble Assembly to represent the Bailiwick's interests." Addressed to Albert Tanzband, Ministerpräsident of Freistaat Preußen [...] The Bailiwick of Conti would like to point your attention to the question of Calais/Kales. As you know the City of Calais/Kales is vital to Conti's trade with its north and eastern European neighbours as it commands navigation into the Channel and beyond to the North Sea and the Baltic markets. Our commercial interests dictate that navigation on these vital waterways remains safe and is not hindered by any potentially unfriendly power. The object of this letter is to enquire under which circumstances and modalities you would consider a transfer of sovereignty of the city to the Bailiwick.
