1.
Where did you get the picture from?
Does it really matter? It certainly hasn't before.
 2.
This is why they added "The CN-ART staff also reserves the right to deny any submission at their discretion."
Then why is Davian making excuses? If they reserve such right, they should just say "No" or "Rejected"... At least then they wouldn't be making arbitrary rules in an attempt to justify their decision.
 3.
Just don't let it fall to the bottom of the OWF.
Ah right, of course.
 4.
Also, limit should be 450x150 and you need to promote this so that we have more than 5 people submitting sigs. But having one person win all the time is good.
I would be interested in hearing your ideas for ways to promote PSotW.
Why promote something made out of spite?
Don't be jealous just because our competition is superior to yours in every way.
 5.
Ahhh...how nice. I can trade witty one-liners all day with you too, and I dare say I am better at it. Just for reference, I will redirect you to my argument, because you seem to have the intellectual capacity of a 2 your old blowfish.
Yes, you said that NpO's government structure allowed them to make quick decisions, however you go on to state that, in fact, all alliances operate fundamentally the same way. I've seen your argument, and I've found your contradiction. Please try harder to make a coherent set of arguments, though I'm sure that is hard for you.
 6.
Pre-made and fully plagiarised. Nyooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Neither of which are in violation of the rules specified.

 8.
Pretty much every alliance functions from the same series of blueprints and possess the same coping and rationalization mechanisms, as well as their own biased views of history. The only thing that separates Polaris from Legion, is that Polaris has a competent active leadership, while Legion is lacking. Both alliances profess the essentially the same values, loyalty being one of them, and carry them out to varying degrees, as do most alliances in CN. So, yes, to some things up, leaving an alliance over moralist pretenses is a mistake not worth making, no matter the amount of righteous indignation the other side possesses. My allies are my allies, my leaders are my leaders, they may suck, but they are mine. I will happily sacrifice my pixels for their sake, and I expect them to treat me in the same regard. When this assurance is no longer concrete, then they are no longer my ally, and they are no longer my leader.
So, therefore, there is no real difference between the effectiveness of different government structures in CN alliances... Thank you for making your previous arguments invalid.
 9. I really wish people would stop trying to make this. Every time they do, it leads to a disappointing end result that is never updated, yet people still refer back to it. Good luck I suppose.
 10. Thank you for your meaningful entries. They have all been accepted and voting has begun!

From all of us here on the People's staff, we appreciate your vote and hope you give us constructive feedback as to how we might improve this competition. We are also now taking suggestions for themes for future weeks. Thank you, Longbowe Deputy Executive Director of the PSotWC P.S. Please include comments on what size limit should be imposed on PSotW from now on. Remember, this is YOUR competition. Edit: Voting shall conclude at approximately 1159 CST Monday September 13th. 12.

Sal Paradise -
I chose winter.
Excellent entry. I can feel the cold wind rushing across the open fields as the clouds overhead begin to drop snow just by glancing at this piece. I must admit, the use of the snow blanketed field behind the frosty blue embodiment of winter is elegant and simple. I do, however, wish that the signature was a little warmer, as the best memories of winter are when one comes in out of the cold and enjoys hot chocolate with friends around a fireplace... 8/10
 13.
I would harldy consider moving from one alliance to another guarentees that the new one is any different than the old one.
So every alliance is the same? Interesting...
 14.
A high price to pay for moralism, and someone elses double standards.
You consider being in an alliance with like minded people who you get along with a "price to pay"? I think I might like to purchase some tech from you.
 15.
The keyword is 'limited'. It is unrealistic to expect an alliance, especially a large one, to do disregard it's leadership over morality issues and events that most members do not understand; Especially when the only consequence is to be alienated from a collective community.
Alienation is followed by outstretched arms at another alliance.
 16.
I never assumed that you were in TOP. I was merely undermining your thesis by providing a recent, and concrete example of how an alliance can make a horrible decision, in spite of being a Democracy. Of course, that by no means makes a totalitarian system inherreantly superior, as demonstrated by Polaris in the Bi-Polar War except that totalitarian systems allow their leaders to make !@#$%*/good decisions at a much higher rate with limited acountability.
However, there is no such thing as a totalitarian system in CN. e.g. Should a totalitarian leader declare war against another alliance in CN, his/her members have to approve of the war by declaring war on a nation in the opposing alliance. They must show continued support of their leaders actions by attacking and not accepting individual surrender. However, should the alliance not approve of the war the members can take matters into their own hands to either end the war before it starts or via other means.

 18. ViP was by far the best protectorate ever.
 19.
Currently I am looking for a political analyst who has serious in-depth knowledge of the political realm of CN as well as the black sphere. Your job would be to write up a small (about one or two paragraph) analysis of all alliances in the black sphere as well as a one-three page analysis of the political sphere of CN as a whole, specifically I would need information on foreign policy objectives as well as defense relations/the alliance's current military structure and strength. Payment is negotiable. If you think that you are up for the job please shoot me a PM on these forums, or on my nation. Sincerely, Kitex
How about this... I'll purchase a one page analysis of all alliances in the black sphere as well as a five page analysis of the political sphere of CN as a whole. Then I'll cut it down for you and add some awesome special effects and sell it back to you for twice the cost.
 20.
Everyone has a say in an alliance they're in. Whether it be democratic or a dictatorship. Direct democracy hardly works but, democratic alliances, for the most part, usually work.
I agree with BEazy for once. Democracy slows down decision making, but it makes the execution of those decisions much more effective.

 22.
But, if you really, really have to use colour in yours posts... please don't use yellow or other colours that are too frigin' bright to read!
Is this too bright of a color? I think it matches the forums quite nicely myself...
 23. What's wrong with posting using different colors?
 24.
I don't feel completely unsimiliar, the other (inferior) signature contest allows them of various sizes as long as they don't completely take up the entire screen, and I'm not a big fan of the anti-plagiarism rule. Take the diplo-girl entry for example, it was quite the master-piece of a signature if i do say so myself, its one thing if you take a completed signature and try to pass it on as your own, its another thing to take a variety of stock-images and work them together into something completely different, interesting and creative. Provided, this signature contest is meant to be different then the other one, and that is what the majority of the other competition consists of, but never-the-less, as long as its creative, as long as its predominantly their own work (The diplo-girl for example, was what it was not because of the stock images, but because of the creative editing), then why not let it in? What would the people want?
Your concerns are noted and we will allow the people to continue to discuss them this week and implement any changes necessary for PSotW #3. I would, however, like to address a couple of points:

I decided to add in the signature size limitation due to the fact that this is a -signature- competition and not a "really pretty looking image that's smaller than my screen" competition. I feel it is in the best interest of the people if the signatures submitted were actually allowed to be worn on these forums. Should the people feel otherwise, I have no hesitation on eliminating or relaxing this requirement. Therefore, what do the people think? What should be the maximum allowable size?
As for the anti-plagiarism rule: It was put in place to discourage this competition become yet another "SotW" where "artists" put a render in a file of a particular size and then use some brushes and effects made by other people to make it look "full". Perhaps, instead, the people would wish to have a requirement that all source images must be properly cited upon submission?
As always, the staff is open to the people's ideas and suggestions and will work hard to fulfill the will of the people.
