  1. While I can't verify Jeb the Wise's claim (seem plausible to me though), if it is correct, and you last collected taxes after 11pm, then the 11pm run wouldn't catch your nation since you aren't really 20 days inactive, assuming we're counting from last collection time, not the last update before collection. The 3am run the following day would, but by that time you'd be 21 days inactive, counting from update. I'm not sure that made any sense... makes sense in my head but it seems hard to explain.
  2. Actually the -5% land area doesn't matter. This bug has been brought up several times and still hasn't been fixed. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=42023 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=37291 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=35197 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=29607 So assuming this bug isn't going away, Option 1 would be better, because $2.00 > 1hp, as was pointed out earlier. However, given that admin could fix this any time, I'm not sure the risk would be worth it for a few extra thousand dollars. I'd probably pick Option 2 also.
  3. Whoa... gravedig. Yes, exactly what Jack Shepard said. At the time the OP was sitting on $15m cash that his alliance dumped on him. I should've included that context in my post.
  4. The anarchy income penalty lasts one day after you switch out of anarchy. All should be well tomorrow.
  5. If you're collecting with 0 tech you're doing it wrong. Tech sellers with a clue keep 50 tech on them at all times, so they're always collecting with 50 tech, which is more than enough to max out the uranium income bonus.

    Bug?

Do you have an event which disables affluent population? There are a few different ones that do this. If so, you'll get AP once the event expires.
  7. In fact, I don't even think you get a public IP address. I'm pretty sure you get a private IP and get out to the world via NAT.
  8. I'm sure somebody else has said this before me, but I'm too lazy to read though 2 pages of posts... Aside from Lead, there really aren't any bad resources. People seem to always complain about the FJ/AP resources (Gold, Silver, Furs, and Wine) but the FJ/AP set really isn't that bad, sure it isn't the 3BG, but it is definitely better than the all-too-common 8BG set. There are, however, bad resource combos. While Furs doesn't suck, Furs and Oil does, because nobody wants Oil as a wildcard in the FJ/AP set, and nobody wants Furs as a wildcard in the 5BG set. Similarly, Rubber doesn't suck, but Rubber and Spices does, because nobody wants Rubber and a wildcard in the 3BG and Spices is a crappy wildcard in the 5BG.
  9. For what it is worth, the anniversary doesn't really matter (alden is still correct though). You should be waiting until day 19 (of inactivity) to collect anyway. The extra happiness point you'll lose my not collecting on your anniversary will be dwarfed by the greater backcollect.
  10. That must be it! A dozen people can't be wrong! Yep, I was already compensating for environment's impact on happiness. It was actually an increase of 2.97, and I expected 1.98. I'll be waiting! Thanks for your suggestions.
  11. By "jump" we're talking about an increase in upkeep, not just increasing your infra level. As far as I know there is nothing after 15k, or if there is, nobody has hit it yet.
  12. Not really, it is better than Pigs and Rubber though. You really should've stuck with the Aluminum/Wine. Gold and Uranium are never going to fit in the 3BG set, and the 8BG set is crap (and is even worse when you have to replace Fish with Uranium), leaving only the FJ/AP/Steel set, and only the guys in nuke range are going to want to fill one of that set's wildcards with Uranium.
  13. I was comparing my happiness pre and post UHC, which is unaffected by the income modifiers. But yes, I'm aware that $2.00 base income is really $4.15 after max (non-SDC) modifiers.
  14. Actually if just one person did it I probably would've chuckled and let it go, but the fact that it was nearly every reply kind of hit a nerve. Maybe they were all joking and my sense of humor is the problem, regardless, sorry your joke got lost in the shuffle.
  15. And even if there was, there are only 4 days left in the round, the buyer wouldn't have time to receive his tech.
  16. Heh, if it weren't for the whole one wonder every 30 days thing I might actually consider it. I could part with 100 million pixels to prove to myself I'm not crazy. As for figuring out the happiness formula (or rather, the components of happiness, the formula is just summing them all up), CN:TE allows you to start with a band new nation and is a great way to experiment with things.
  17. Absolutely nothing. Scholars is all it used for (currently at least).
  18. Once again, see the last paragraph (maybe I need to put it in big letters). My environment didn't change, and my soldier efficiency isn't close enough to 60% of my citizen count to have to worry about it. Good theory though (best one I've heard so far), had I had a bit more soldiers it could've indeed been the problem.

    Can you post a screenshot?
  20. See last paragraph of my post. (No.) Again, last paragraph, and I think I have an extra happiness point, losing trades wouldn't do that. Nope gov didn't change (and I obviously have the Great Monument so their preference didn't change either.) Again, trade partners changing teams would lose me a happiness point, not get me an extra one (but they didn't anyway). Again, last paragraph. Losing an event was the first thing I thought of too. I checked my happiness and committed it to memory (possibly incorrectly) just before buying the UHC though, which was nowhere around update, and I have 0 expired events. Oh well, thanks for the suggestions anyway.
  21. I didn't actually record it (that's why I still have this tiny bit of doubt about the whole thing) but if I'm right the difference in income would've been about $12.15 (~ 3 * 4.15 * 0.99 minus a bit for the extra citizens), or about $3.65 in actual taxes. I just derived that from -3 happiness now, so if you're looking to derive happiness back from income, don't bother because we'd just be going in circles.
  22. So I just picked up the Universal Health Care wonder a few days ago and I'm pretty sure my happiness went up by 3 points not 2 as stated in the information index. Maybe I'm misremembering but I don't think so. Has anyone else noticed this? Or is there anyone that remembers definitely getting an increase of only 2 points? I asked around a bit but couldn't find anyone who remembered when they bought theirs so I figured I'd post here. If the UHC really is only +2hp then I'm thinking there must be some other component of the happiness formula that I'm missing, and was somehow triggered by the purchase. Maybe 12 wonders (1 years worth) has some significance? Or maybe I the +3% citizens caused me to pass some threshold? (Probably only Syzygy would be able to answer these questions.) Oh, and before anyone jumps in with all the usual suspects, no my trades didn't change, no my environment didn't change, no it wasn't my nation's anniversary (I wish I still had birthdays...), and no I didn't have any events that expired. Thanks for any insight.
  23. NRL... for the 5th time. See ecoli's post for why.
  24. Definitely the NRL, unless you need the 6th aid slot, then go for the DRA.
  25. Nope, after 5k there is just 8k and 15k.
