2.
Totally honest question: what about the GGA is worth saving?
We hold on to what threads we can at times because the GGA is our home, for better or for worse. Also, for better or for worse, the GGA is an alliance with roots to no other outside source. We are native to Planet Bob and proud of it. Too many once great native alliances are no longer with us. A big part of me now understands why these alliances tried to hold out as long as possible, sometimes against overwhelming odds (the NAAC being the most prominent example). So, in part, I'm summing it up to one word: History
 3. is confused at the moment.

 4.
Your mistake was assuming I was forming an argument. Age, meh, assume what you like. Maturity, that I won't make any contest on. And I enjoy it too.
My comments were out of line Locke, I apologize. As you can imagine I've been a bit on the defensive today.
 5.
brb, registering Vox members on the new GGA forum. Again. Seriously, good luck. I hope you find what you're looking for. I think it's pretty indicative of things that I don't even know who the outgoing triumvirate is. To me, though, your whole problem is triumvirates; it's a bad system of government which has been especially troublesome for GGA for yearrrrs. Get things going, then pick a system with one head of state.
First time I think I have ever agreed with anything you have said about the GGA Schatt.
 6.
Yes, we know GGA is, hence why new blood is so vital to your continued existance. Accept your new overlords and enjoy the reformation of your alliance.
You either show your age, maturity, or inability to form a credible argument in this statement. Either way, since the whole 'LULZ GGA I AM TEH EMPERORZ' line contributes nothing to this thread, I won't address it further.
 7.
I must denounce this Coupe, as Emperor of the Grand Global Alliance, I am the way, the truth, and the life of this alliance.
old and tired...
 8.
This is one of the most well written and humble posts I've ever encountered on the OWF. Amid the chaos of your leadership, resilient and intelligent posts like this give me hope for you guys.
That means a great deal to me coming from you mhawk. Thank you.
 9.
What about the Dephire attitude?
I worked very closely with Deph when he was part of the alliance. He was, unfortunately, the wost case of social promotion I had ever seen. Please do not legitimize that ridiculous post of his by claiming it was a prevelant attitude in our alliance. This forum always talks of free speech versus a unified government message. One cannot have both and that was the worse display of such.
 10.
Good god, it's been 3 years. Bilrow hasn't even been remotely involved with GGA politics for over 1 year. Get over it, Free Quebec. EDIT: the few rank and file GGA members that have managed to post seem to like Bilrow. I'm a little surprised but, like I said, I have no idea what GGA members believe these days. It's been a long time.
The answer to that is simple. Bilrow represented the alliance with a "Head of State" stature (such as it might be to some people) that we have not had since. There was a consistancy there. Whether his influence in the long run was positive or negative is actually irrelevant to most of us. I will always have respect for Bilrow, although I also have respect for many of those who have come after him. I long for that consistancy again and I hope that this government is finally the government that will bring us there.
 11.
If you want to restart, then disown Bilrow and his dirty tricks.
Seriously? 2008 called, they want that version of lolGGA back.
 12.
After all the work and headaches JB is let in. Never thought this day would come, but consider this my immediate resignation. If the rest wants to jump of a cliff by following JB then i can't stop them. I don't support this and i pull my hands from this. Couldn't have agreed more.
I must admit Andre, I agree with most of this right now. I feel like a bit of an expatriate at the moment pending a very detailed explanation from our current crop of leadership. Since none exists on the new forums at this point in time, I have little choice but to spend a little quality time here on the OWF. I have never in the almost 3 1/2 years I have been a member of the GGA said anything negative about my alliance. I have kept my thoughts to myself because protocol demands it. So here goes. This was not unexpected by the General participatory membership of the GGA, we had some forwarning that certain actions may be undertaken that would reflect this sort of change in the upper echelons of our leadership. It was my understanding however, that this would be a change in governance rather than a change in personalities and that any change initiated would be done as much within the confines of the standing charter as possible. It has become clear to me that I was mistaken. As I stated earlier, with the exception of a treaty re-organization and a change of personalities, there is little evidence of a change in governance. I hope that I will be proven wrong on this very much. I have some heavy reservations with the involvement of JB in this whole matter. I am an old enough member to remember JB in leadership. I, for one, liked him very much at the time. But his conduct towards the GGA since that time has been questionable at best, hostile at worst. Be that as it may, at one time I counted him as a friend, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. For now. I am wholly exhausted with the continued change of direction that we as an alliance undertake with little to see for it. Sadly, after the Post-Karma membership drop, most of our tech deal programs were suspended indefinitely in favor of simpler 1x1 deals. If you want to be an alliance Triumvirate leader, that all fine and great. But I would ask you to please look inward first. As any competent head of state could tell you, treaty negotiations, foreign affairs and international reputation are great icing for a leader, but look to your friggen flock this time around first. The day could come when we won't be there any longer. I love this alliance for better or for worse, and if I get kicked for this post than I have the answer to my previous post. But I wish us all the luck and I hope that we can become great again. I'm home, and I don't want to find another one.
 13.
Without taking sides, this sums up my views on everything going on within the GGA. Not that it wasn't a long time coming but I wish they would have been able to avoid splintering like this.
Good to see you Ricky. Actually, there has been no splintering as of yet. The current membership level remains the same (at this moment). Although, it will be interesting to see where the levels go in the next 24 hours. This will be either a testament to our loyalty to the GGA or our apathy to CN in general. I tend to think that its a mixture of both with the favor going to the former. I for one, have remained with this, albeit sometimes a bit of a train wreck, alliance since my earliest days on this planet because I don't abandoned that which I made an oath too. Even if it sometimes does not work out to my advantage. I stand by my oath today, and will continue to do so until that which I pledged to no longer exists.
 14.
1) I think you reversed that. The "core" of the Karma conflict would probably be NPO and the hegemony. The majority of the smaller peripheral alliances were out within about 3 weeks. NPO, and a few others stayed much, much longer, and many did not get white peace. 2)Are you referring to TOP et al here? They are hardly broken. 3) I don't think NS is the greatest way to determine this. TOP et al are still capable of putting up a very decent fight, and although they are losing, are quite effect at fighting.
To clarify Joracy, 1) Core being defined moreso as the level of fighting than the ideological reasoning for the war. Perhaps I should have used a different word. 2) Not necessarily TOP as they are legendary for their massive warchests, but many alliances on that list have seen the sum total of their NS drop more than 50% and many of their member nations are no longer capable of mounting any sort of defense against future aggression. Now, call that what you would like, poor planning, but to allow those alliances to dither in combat without terms, could be construed as "harsh" 3) This was simply a comparison to Fallen Fool's use of numbers to demonstrate the one-sidedness of Karma compared to this conflict. I was merely pointing out that there is false logic in trying to refute a comparison between Karma and this war based upon the relative closeness of the sides (which, as everyone knows, is not very close)
 15.
"Karma" was against eternal war, excessive reparations, unfair terms and curbstomps. None of those labels can be applied to the current conflict because this conflict is barely three weeks old, reparations/terms haven't been demanded/offered, and the sides, while uneven, are not massively one-sided. So please people, for the love of Admin, stop dragging out this same tired and illogical argument. It makes me feel a little bit dumber every time I read it.
While your opinion may be that these arguments are tired, they are not illogical by the evidence that you present. The disconnects that I see in your reasoning are as follows: 1) The core of the Karma conflict lasted a little over 3 weeks. 2) It seems to me that not offering terms to an already broken alliance could be construed as "unfair." 3) Three weeks into Karma, the strength difference was about 130 million. I believe the strength difference at this moment is around 100 million. Does that extra 30 million create the need to insert the word "massively"?
 16.
I've always thought of the GGA reputation as being rather unfortunate. Good luck and have fun.

I find it amusing that MHA members have generally been more respectful than some of those being pretty low and we didn't even DOW them. Shows you who has class.

Congrats on the free tech and land MHA. o/
Kenedian, I don't know if you planned that...but wow...the fact that those three posts were in succession just kinda sums it up. I agree with you as well...MHA is being very respectful and it is an honor to meet them in battle.
 17.
I guess this means NPO is coming in to the war to show us why you don't need WRCs . . .
^ Not to mention that gem awhile back as well...
 18.
Lol is it that GGA members are inactive or did the GGA gov prohibited their membership from viewing OWF and refrained them from posting. in order To avoid the general Embarrassment
We figured out a long time ago that feeding trolls isn't very beneficial. Plus, we are all still shaking our heads a bit from the "Dephire Post-Heard-Around-The-World" a while back...
 19.
You know, I hope one of these days you guys and girls in GGA are able to show up and earn some respect in a war. It gets tiring watching everyone fall into the mob mentality more and more. It shows true in every GGA thread as folks think it is time to be cool and see if they can toss the most snide remark your way. Maybe I just like underdogs but they make it very hard for me personally to dislike you guys. Good luck GGA.
I appreciate the kind words. Good luck to you as well.
 20. QUICK, someone find the old "CN Real World" video clip.
 21. Understand this game as quickly or as well as the heavy hitters on the OWF. Sadly, work schedule will never, ever allow me to do this
 22. Quite the diplomatic response. I applaud you sir.
 23. It's good to see that in this politically anemic time on Planet Bob we at the GGA can still inspire 25 page threads. Kinda brings a tear to my eye. <sniff>
 24. friends = woot, glad to be a part of the love train guys.
 25. If we're going to be technical..Neoconservativism was pioneered by David Horowitz... IC: Big fan of your cause and good luck with the new alliance.
