1. You were the best leader an alliance could have. Rest In Peace forever.
 2.
Nothing. Remember we didn't care that they raided the GGA AA. We simply didn't like them claiming it as their own for the purpose of raiding it. They're free to do as the like now that they've backed down from their policy.
Thank you for the clarification, it is much appreciated and understandable.
 3. So I wonder what happens now...\m/ is all over former GGA nations like flies on manure right now.
 4. I'm not sure if I should hail this or howl in protest. So I will scratch my head and go about my business GGA 4 always
 5.
...Like my mother always said, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it all." If you're going to break with motherly advice, at least save it for threads like GGA, where at least most people will join in with you.
Moral relativism at its finest... Members of GUN, as someone who just lost their home as well, I empathize with you and hope for nothing but the best while you forge your new paths in the coming months.
 6.
That quote was hard to forget.. Silverhawk was the one who posted that right?
Oooooo yeah, and then promptly left the alliance and stuck us all with the fun afterbirth.
 7.
People realized that's what GGA was like when they, or rather NPO, was still winning wars. Most of the world will remember GGA by the quote about why they don't need WRC's for a reason.
The funny thing about your statement flak, and what I frankly have never understood is that despite many community members and Alliance charters recognizing "free speech" for there membership on the OWF, irresponsible statements, such as the one that you are recalling, are perceived to be doctrinal or policy of the alliance in general, despite being made in the context of "free speech," and not from an Alliance government representative. Forgive me, that thought is a bit choppy, but I remember the post that you are referring to very well (as I was MoC at the time and monitoring the OWF more closely) and it was not made by anyone that could even be remotely considered part of our government structure. It was, in fact, made by someone that was more of a dissident member, even at the time the statement was made. I take issue with the your inference that this was implemented policy. With other more homogenized alliances paying lip service to the concept of free speech, one of our members posts something based solely on their own opinion, and it became our cross to bear for the remainder of our alliance's lifetime.
 8.
With the return of JB into the ranks of the GGA, even if it was to retire, one might say the fire was destined to get out of control. This is not the time and place to discuss that though. It is a time for sadness for the disbandment of the Grand Global Alliance, an alliance many amongst us once called home and it is the place to wish the best of luck to those in the GGA at the end in finding a new home. Leave the bickering somewhere else or even better: get a private room on IRC.
I agree with Andre. I respect all of you guys that tried to keep her alive during the last few months, but let's let her go in peace please.
 9.
I know full well the history, both ancient and recent. I'm speaking from my personal point of view. I never got to cross swords with them, and that was one of the last things I really wanted to do on Planet Bob. So I suppose you could say blinded by hate. Not really blinded, but yeah, my statement is personal and although hate is a strong word, it's not far off. There are other alliances and other atrocities, yes. None that have affected me and mine so closely and dearly, though.
In an additional point of irony, if you had gotten your desired conflict, those you would have crossed swords with would almost certainly not be the ones that, in your personal point of view, committed said atrocities
 10.
I wonder if this topic will get the Thread of the year award...
hey that would mean we hold that two years in a row! Always think positively...
 11.
Good riddance. There may have been a lot of history but most of it was spent as arrogant sycophants or lame ducks still desperate to be relevant. There is no GGA legacy. Good luck to all the members who are left although I wouldn't surprised if another GGA crops up in the future when someone like JB gets bored. I don't remember it exactly but I'll never forget that "we don't need WRC's as we're protected by NPO's" quote. I suppose that's the GGA legacy.
Despite your insipid naivety, there is a GGA legacy. Many of our own detractors have acknowledged this. We certainly had our low points, no one can argue that. But for better or for worse we helped shape the ebb and flow of this world, and I am proud of so many of our members that have gone on to do great things in other Alliances.
 12.
My Dear Friends and Family: Today is a truly sad day for the Grand Global Alliance. I have long feared that this day was coming. I have served proudly as a member of the Grand Global Alliance for the last three years until very recently. The one thing I have come to realize is that their is a point in time where you look at a given situation and wonder if the cause is staring at you through the mirror. Believe me when I said that I have had many such moments over the course of the last three years, but now I have a bit to say to quite a few people. I was always of the belief that the Grand Global Alliance needed to separate itself from the New Pacific Order. I believed that there was a sovereignty infringement which had to be rectified. I sold my ideas by stating that if we leave NPO there will be others who will be friendly to the Grand Global Alliance. No new friends other then MASH stood up. I was sadly mistaken. What we have seen over the course of the last two years is the decline of a major world power due to the inactivity and ineptness of the government, starting with myself. Dementual of the Grand Global Alliance Dementual, I thank you for trying everything possible to resurrect this alliance. You have done all that you can and you should not fault yourself for not being able to save what couldn't be saved. Byron Orpheus of the Grand Global Alliance Byron, your term as Regent has been an interesting one, while I have no doubt that you tried everything that you could to save this alliance, I can only say that your behavior in #gga is certainly not reflective of the respectful spirit of the GGA that we have had in the past. The GGA has always had critics, we have always tried to rise above it. Jonathan Brookbank of the Grand Global Alliance The person I thought had the name recognition to make the GGA succeed. Sometimes I am wrong. Thanks for trying...it was beyond all help. Bilrow of the New Pacific Order Bilrow, I don't know if you remember, but you are the one that recruited me Bilrow. I am sorry for any offense that I have caused you and I am sorry that my policies have helped to lead the GGA where it is today. You are and always will be the founding "father" of the GGA for better or worse. We were once friends, I am sorry that we are not anymore. One day perhaps, we will speak again. Moo-Cows of the New Pacific Order Moo-Cows, I sold you short way to early before I realized that we were both being manipulated. I should have encouraged the GGA to stand in the defense or the Order rather then to find new friends. While I do feel you were a bit over-bearing at some points, it cannot be denied that you were only trying to help. I shall always consider you a friend for that reason, regardless of what you think of me. Cornelius of the Viridian Entente Cornelius, when you were Lord of the Entente you became my protector as I tried to implement these far reaching reforms that probably led us to this point anyway. I thank you for your commitment to green unity and your willingness to befriend me. It will always be remembered. Sognatore of Phoenix Rising My policy regarding the New Pacific Order, along with a few other things, caused you to leave. I am sorry that this was the path that had to be taken and I am sorry you had to leave your CN home. You have dedicated much time and effort to the well-being of the Grand Global Alliance and I am confident that history will be very kind to your past in the Grand Global Alliance. Thanks for being a friend to me back then. Andre27 of Phoenix Rising Andre27, I am sorry for couping you. There is no other way to describe that. Perhaps one time you may be able to forgive me, but until then, good luck...and god speed. Qaianna of Phoenix Rising Qaianna, the powerhouse in the waning days of the Triumvirate, I should have given you more of a chance. I am sorry friend. Degenerate108 of Cerebus Degenerate, we haven't talked in months. I am sorry that you felt the need to leave. You were a sounding board for me for a long time and never hesitated to tell me when I was wrong. Thank you for that. Good luck in Cerebus. KungFuHamster of Phoenix Rising Another excellent triumvir that came into my line of fire. I apologize for what happened to you and take full responsibility. I hope your home in PhoenixRising has been far kinder then the one you had here. So with all of that said, please understand that this is a personal statement, and does not represent the government position of the Green Old Party or it's government. If anyone has any questions my coldfront nick is ShanePrice{GOP], thank you all for a great run. Fortuna Fortes Juvat!!!!
An honorable send off Shane. I'm proud to have served under your command.
 13. Best member-hunting PM I have received so far...
Kittyquel: I am the SoFA for ICAN. I am a girl. :3 That is all.
14.
Lezrahi walked through the congregation of citizens who were there to witness the final announcement of the Grand Global Alliance. Though he, himself, knew that it had likely been a long time coming, his expression was solemn, not bearing any semblance of amusement. When he came to the front row of the spectators, he witnessed the one called Partisan at the podium, expressing his saddening news. He waited until he was finished. He said nothing, but stepped forward. He reached into one of his pockets, and when his hand came out, it was holding a chain with a sort of charm at the end of it that glinted in the sunlight. He laid it down gently upon the podium. He looked at Partisan briefly, nodded, turned, and silently walked away, beginning his long trek back to his perch on the mountain.
Quite poetic for remaining silent.
 15.
To those GGA'ers who lasted to the very end - you guys were either absolutely nuts or the most loyal people on Planet Bob. I'd like to believe it's the latter. Good luck finding new homes and I hope you remain on Green.
It's definitely a little of both my friend
 16.
Speaking as a general member of VE, I take no joy in this. Despite the paranoia and hatred of VE demonstrated in the recent logs, the logs before that, and every relative OWF thread in recent memory, I have assumed this to be the opinion of a few in power and not the general membership. Believe me, the feeling was not mutual. The feeling in VE is not all lolGGA either. There is a sadness in seeing a once-prosperous green alliance fall from grace. I wish the best to those loyal GGAers who find themselves without their longtime home. Good luck.
Very classy, thanks for the support mosfunky. I always like you guys in VE.
 17. A Eulogy from a Native Son In early November of 2006 I formed my nation by recommendation from a friend. By that same friend, the same day that I formed, I applied to join the Grand Global Alliance. This was a couple months after the infamous coup that greatly altered the path of the alliance from an alliance standing in contrary to the world’s superpower to an alliance standing in support of them. It was not until the first shots were fired in GW3 that I began to fully understand the nature of Planet Bob. I was handed a sound military defeat by a younger (and smaller) Delta1212 of the RIA. That didn’t matter because I now bled for my alliance. It was in this fire that I became engaged with the GGA and its leadership. I was now a committed member of the Grand Global Alliance. Because of our political connections, we found ourselves on the winning side of the conflict. Though more so impressive, other members like myself began to become engaged. We became a close knit family during these golden times for the GGA. Truth be told, it never set right with me what we did to Viridia in the coming months. This was my first experience with what is known as a “Gang Bang,” and I hated it. I hated seeing an alliance grossly outnumbered and brought to its knees. I never took any joy from this victory... Our close knit family carried on, spending evenings with each other in our private channels and swiftly becoming friends. This ended for me the day that Bilrow left if only for the simple fact that he provided a certain adhesive to our government structure that kept us together. Many tried after him, but were simply never able to replicate this. We now come to the present day; the GGA survived a catastrophic (though not entirely undeserved) loss in the Karma conflict. A persistent attrition of large member states and government leadership followed. Regardless, the GGA had been my home, I swore an oath to defend and represent her. Despite the internal and external failings, I was not going to leave my broken home. The Grand Global Alliance has a history on this planet. We were created shortly after the world formed and we were created out of the clay of the world. We were a source of controversy from day one, and we wore that badge proudly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the past leaders, movers and shakers that helped the Grand Global Alliance through its many trials and tribulations. May she finally get the rest she so deserves. In accordance with her Celtic roots, I say goodbye to my home with this traditional Irish blessing: May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. May God be with you and bless you; May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortune, Rich in blessings, May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward. May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home And may the hand of a friend always be near. May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the skies above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hearts that love you.
 18. So when can we expect the reformation, reconciliation and revenge of the NAAC?
 19.
It's still redundant, not because of any overlap with UJW, but because it's nothing more than a statement of "We won't attack you unless we have a reason to attack you." Which most alliances don't need a doctrine for!
...by your own arguments then this would be considered more of an extrapolation on an otherwise universally inferred policy and less of a redundancy. There is little wrong with putting something like that to pen and paper.
 20.
Your sovereign needs to read up on the UJA then: from: http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/UJA These "new" Emerald Doctrine does not state anything not already stated in the UJA. Once again i wish the best for the GGA, but stop trying to invent the wheel or try to take credit for treaties predating the current administration.
Andre whilst I do not disagree with you, the UJW article that you site stipulates "The undersigned alliances." Although treaties are indeed make up a large part of an alliance's foreign policy agenda, a doctrinal executive order is certainly mutually exclusive and not necessarily redundant.
 21.
As a member of the alliance, though not government, I think I should say this. He is the MOFA, he is our public face. Make of that what you will, it's entirely understandable if someone takes what he says to be official stance. Personally, I would have preferred more democratic reform. Anyone who was on the alliance forums can attest to that.
Anyone who posts here can be interpreted to be a "public face." The point I make is that the political weight of the alliance should not be considered behind a statement unless it is marked as official. This is common parliamentary decorum and I am simply asking for that to be held in respect.
 22.
Well....Bryon's voice is an official voice of the FA of the GGA, since he is the MoFA, so thats fun...guess not everyone wants to make friends with those in the past.
KFH, there are numerous examples of people on this forum making similar statements that are not promulgated into official government declarations. That is Byron's opinion in that particular matter and not all of us share that position, nor is it reinforced in any official GGA documentation. In any case, no where is it stated that the MOFA provides official representation of the GGA on the OWF and that the statements made by such individual should be construed as doctrinal. Thanks for the noting that though so I can provide a little clarification.
 23.
So, from a spirit of great unity and healing for those who left to rats and shame on the same page of the thread? Care to choose which it is?
There are many among us who cherish the bonds of friendship that we have created with our former family members. I for one am grateful to anyone that has put in service to this great alliance. Whatever there reasons for leaving were there own and I will always hold them in highest regard. Love ya Momo.
 24.
Revisionist history is something funny to mention from someone who rolls with people that compare your coup to that of the coup of Prodigal Chieftain, and portray Jonathan Brookbank as some kind of freedom fighter. Something that has kind of irritated me about the recent themes of announcements and CN wiki entries from this version of the Grand Global Alliance (such as this announcemnt) is the portrayal of your devotion towards the green team, and how the past leaders of the Grand Global Alliance were oppressive to green. Look back at your history and remember which of your current leaders did nothing to stop a Grand Global Alliance monopoly on green that you guys retrospectively speak out against (hint: it was Brookbank). Also remember who ended Dilrow and helped establish the United Jungle Accords (hint: Myself, Sognatore, Bilrow, etc.). Just bear that in mind every time you write about your devotion to green and our oppression on it. That being said, I wish a happy birthday to the Grand Global Alliance. Even though this alliance only carries the name Grand Global Alliance and not its history, it's nice to remember the old alliance that a lot of us put a good deal of time and effort into on what would have been its fourth birthday.
DJ, good to see you my friend. It brings back memories. History will always be in the realm of the subjective as it can be events can be bent and re-interpreted to fit the agenda of the one citing it. I have nothing against what you say except in regards to "this alliance only carries the name Grand Global Alliance and not its history." I will have to respectfully disagree as there are those of us who have remained during the many different iterations of the Grand Alliance and have found a home there despite the ebb and flow of personalities and power struggles at the top. We are the member nations of the Grand Global Alliance and as such we carry its history. Thank you for the time and tremendous effort that you put in during your tenure as a leader. You will always be, in my book, one of the pivotal ones. I happen to share the same birthday as the my GGA, and I wish us both another bright year ahead.
