Thoughts on the TIO-OO situation.

Ok I am bored so I figured I would explain to the world what happened in the TIO-OO situation Thursday from my point of view. Now that it is all over it doesn't much matter now, but it's Saturday and I'm waiting for my opponents in GATO's next elections to so something bad about me so I can respond. Why not have a drama filled blog post while I'm waiting. Anyway here is the story:

The night before I had talked to TheRec, an old friend of mine, about how Athens and TIO had been harassing them. I promised to ask Athens and TIO about it in the morning. I also talked to Randalla ,a close friend of mine over at AzN, about the situation just to make sure TheRec wasn't painting Athens and TIO as super awful guys. Randy seemed to have a problem with how Athens and TIO was treating OO, but from the way she talked it didn't seem that bad.

The next day before I got a chance to talk to anyone I was informed by Chimera that IAA may go to war soon. After asking for details I learned TIO was going to DoW if they didn't get an apology from OO for the incident we all know about now. I told Chimera not to let anything happen that I could get an apology from OO (I didn't want to fight good friends, and I didn't want to go to war over something that trivial) GATO would gladly follow IAA into war no matter what. Considering IAA died for us in 1-vision we will do anything to repay that debt.

I informed TheRec that we needed to set up a meeting between OO and TIO/IAA, and so we did. Since there is some slight confusion as to why I was there (someone last night said GATO was stupid, because we played into TIO's hands.) I was requested to come there by TheRec and play mediator. We had everything solved and figured out until Ezequiel came into the room started throwing insults around and said they weren't apologizing and left.

Athens immediately started working to keep the ultimatum from going up. I was actually surprised at how sincere they were with not wanting war over something this dumb. For all of you peeps that thinks Athens are nothing but mindless war mongers who are controlled by MK you are completely wrong. I continued talking to Outsiderz over at TSCE (an OO ally), TheRec, and Randalla.

Finally Eze came to his senses and done what I had suggested all along (just post you were sorry if what was said was taken out of context), and Omni saved the world from war that would split Super-Grievances. (that's how I would like to think anyway)

So what have we learned today? Super-Grievances owes Omni it's life. Athens are very good allies and are not mindless barbarians. IAA and GATO love each other extremely. And finally Omni has friends everywhere.

So quick question. If it would have went down. Worst CB ever?

OO has an MDP with AzN. If you know anything about AzN they are very close to superfriends. Now, we all know AzN would have went in. RoK and AzN are tight (I think the MA treaty was signed because of one person). If AzN was getting beat down in the face of overwhelming odds would RoK go in?

maybe

I was talking to a few people before negotiations who kept claiming if TIO would post a DoW most everyone but AzN would have dropped their treaties. I knew that that wouldn't be the case considering I talked with those people everyday.

Although we all know treaties don't matter as much as they once did. Those not treatied who fully sided with OO in this incident very well could have joined in the fray.

As for the explanation of the events that unfolded, it's all quite sad. For Athens and TIO to get that upset over a "yo momma" joke is completely melodramatic and unnecessary. True there have been worse CB's over the past few years, but very few. While it's nice that a 3rd party stepped in to diffuse the situation, it should never have been as big of a deal as it was and Athens/TIO should be ashamed to have taken it as far as they did. Much respect to my friends Ezequiel/TheRec for eating their pride to stave off war over something so ridiculous. If nothing else, I can thank Athens/TIO for making me visit #cn-octava that evening so that I could get to know OO and in turn make some new friends. B-)

I'm not convinced that a war between TIO and OO would have caused an SF-CnG war.

We all know what would have really happened if TIO would have went ahead with a Dow and OO didn't back down is something similar to the blue balls war. It would have gone on for a few days, then RoK would have demanded IAA and Athens etc to stop the war, because they didn't want AzN left out to dry. Then TIO/IAA/Athens would have peaced out so there wasn't some huge split. I still like to think of myself as The Savior of Super-Greivances though. :smug:

You have to understand the history between the two parties to understand why such a shoddy CB would even be thought of. Also TIO seems to have a fondness for going to war. I'll leave it there as to not bad mouth anyone.

I can't speak for anyone else but I'll be damned if I go to war with MK over some little alliances whose full names I don't even know getting their panties in a bunch of IRC insults.

I did not go into the channel and start throwing insults, I'll grab logs if you'd like.

Let me state this clearly... You are not the one who made me make the apology. The two who convinced me were Masterfod and Dajobo, they deserve what ever credit you're taking.

Please don't go around saying 'I did this', 'I did that' OR 'I know this' when you weren't involved but for a few minutes of irrelevant conversation.

Ezequiel.

I have logs too Zeke. As I said, I'm not going to slam anyone in this blog. I wrote it because I was bored. If you want to argue with me you know the channels I visit.

You weren't even in the first 3/4 of negotiations, and when you came in you tried to hardball because you thought all of SF would back you.

No, TIO definitely isn't blameless, not even I am and I was probably one of the few who wanted peace even without an apology (I had no say in that matter though) But you still acted shamefully and should just give up trying to place everything on TIO/Athens (Athens being pretty much the only one in this situation in the right)

I was indeed in the first of the 'negotiations' as I was also in the last of them. Rec was messaging me before, during, and after the 'negotiations'. When did I ever state, or even imply, that I was counting on my allies to back me let alone SF?

I had nothing to do with the start of this, Skippy brought up his mom in our channel not me.

Quit whining it was our channel...it was our channel.... We all get the CB was !@#$, but when you try and say you defused the situation and others didn't do anything you are a complete liar.

I never said I tried to defuse the situation. I'm simply saying you did very little, if any, to do so.

The thing is that we tried, TheRec was the only one from OO who did. To be quite frank if I was in OO I would be calling for your resignation right now.

I would have already couped him honestly.

Hai Omni!

If anyone wants more information for the sake of their own morbid curiosity, I'll be happy to answer questions in private. Otherwise, I'm content to let this entire outrageously ridiculous mess finally settle down.

I hear you Randy. :D

Also, I was currently making another blog post to drown this one out.
