The Patriarch would be sent a gift basket filled with Italian breads, a short letter from Pope Anthony thanking him for his recognition of Christ's Church, and a statement that 4,000,000 lira would be sent along with an adviser from the Vatican Bank to restore any damaged or unmaintained parts of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception - the largest Catholic Church in the Western Hemisphere (located in Washington D.C.).

06[12:09] * Denard walks through the halls of the Vatican and admires some of the priceless pieces of art and historical items that he can only imagine to be irreplaceable.
06[12:10] * Denard as he has presented his passport that identifies him as a citizen of the Kingdom of Axum and his identity card identifying him as a Colonel inthe Kingdom's military he wonders how long it will take to get officially noticed by the Vatican's security force.
06[12:13] * PopeAnthony the Polizia del Vaticano takes notice of his military accreditation and gives notice to the Swiss Guard who send two fashionably dressed guards to Denard. A large crowd still rumbles and cheers in St. Peter's Basilica the Pope finishes a speech to Italians and new citizens of the Vatican alike. "Mister, Denard is it?" said one of the guardsmen.
06[12:13] * Denard replies, "Yes."
06[12:14] * PopeAnthony "Are you on a diplomatic mission to the Vatican today, or enjoying the city?" A procession of Swiss Guardsmen does an honor march after the Pope finishes speaking and loud church bells can be heard ringing in celebration.
06[12:16] * Denard stops to listen to the ringing bells. As he listens he looks thoughtful for a moment. When he's ready to reply he says, "Where I come from church bells aren't something we hear a lot of. They are around, just not many of them. An Imam's call to prayer doesn't have that same inspirational tone to them. I suppose you can I'm here in a capacity best described as unofficial and that I would unofficially request you take me to your leader, please."
06[12:21] * PopeAnthony the Swiss Guardsmen weren't sure whether to be friendly or apprehensive towards the gentleman. "I'll send word higher up signore, but I can not guarantee you an audience with His Holiness or anyone else..." The large bells in the church's of the Vatican and around in Rome would chime again and again while word slowly progressed up from the head of the
06[12:23] * PopeAnthony Pope's Swiss Guard to the Secretary of State, eventually to the Pope. When told that an African was here to see him, a Christian who was in the military, Pope Anthony decided to hear what he had to say. After being thoroughly searched for weapons and electronic devices he would be escorted into the largest Catholic Church in the world -
06[12:24] * PopeAnthony St. Peter's Basilica. By now it was empty of people but still filled with life and hundreds of years of hope, souls, and faith. And one bishop, the Bishop of Rome. "What brings you to the House of God, my friend?" Pope Anthony thanked the Swiss Guardsmen who stepped back far enough so that the two could converse.
06[12:26] * Denard replies, "I've been asked by my King to make a personal visit to you. I am the head of the Somalian Christian Church, a branch of the Coptic family of the Christian community. My King being one of the Kingdom's many liberal Muslims feels it important to speak quietly with you on a matter that concerns him.
06[12:28] * Denard He wonders what intentions the Church has towards the Catholics of Africa. He being a liberal Muslim freely endorses the rights of all his citizens and those beholden to him for their sustance to the right of freedom of religious choice. The Kingdom and Legion before it, might not be admirers of the Catholic church, but the larger principles of freedom outweigh the problems of the past."
06[12:28] * PopeAnthony "I always have time for Christian leaders from anywhere in the world - Catholic or not. What is the matter my son?" the young Pope sat in a pew and allowed Denard to come into. The massive structure around them was overwhelming but soothing at the same time - perhaps it was the presence of God instead that gave such a feeling.
06[12:32] * PopeAnthony "It is the mission of this Church to spread the Word of God and charity to as many people as we possibly can. The clergy here in Vatican City are already drawing up plans for mission projects throughout Africa. I hope to appoint more bishops and construct new Parish in the African continent. With your King's blessing, our first new act in Africa could be
06[12:35] * PopeAnthony to construct a cathedral in a more Catholic part of your homeland. As a sign of good faith, I want to start helping the poor in your country as soon as we can. It is truly an act of God that we are not being judged by the past actions of others by your King - a very understanding and wise man he must be."
06[12:37] * Denard thinks for a moment before answering. "I think my King has something else in mind. What he wishes to offer is the personal protection for your men of faith. Meaning, no matter where they go in Africa, they'll have the backing of the Kingdom behind them. Now this might not be mighty as the backing of our lord god, but I promise you, the men of our Legions are mighty in their own way. However....
06[12:38] * Denard he worries that there will be issues regarding politics. He wants your assurances that your bishops and priests will not attempt to sway the people of Africa towards the notion that accepting foreign governments into their midst is the will of the church."
06[12:46] * PopeAnthony "The clergy of the Roman Catholic Church preach their faith and the Word of God. With such an understanding and tolerant King, I cannot see why they would sway the people away from being loyal to him. The only political ambitions of the Catholic Church in Africa are religion and charity, your King has nothing to fear of the Vatican my son - that I can
06[12:46] * PopeAnthony promise indefinitely."
06[12:48] * Denard replies, "Then your holiness has my King's personal word that should your men of faith come into trouble in Africa, he will intervene to assist them. We insist that you respect the wishes of national governments, some are more strict with their intrepetation of Allah's word than others. In the Kingdom, its very liberal and my Coptic brothers and sisters exist side by side with our Muslim brothers in peace. We've done this for decades. In other places, not so much."
06[12:51] * PopeAnthony "I will keep that in mind. Please thank your King for his tolerance and understanding. I will keep in contact you with you, Signor Denard. Is there anything else you wished to talk about?"
01[12:55] <Denard> "Very much so. The King, while very much distrusting of the Catholic Church for events of the past, wishes to establish proper relations with the Vatican through a process of reconcilliation. Further, he wishes the Vatican to embrace the Somalian Coptic Church into its bosom, his wording not mine, and allow it to join a larger community of Christians and Catholics. My King's mind is a very curious one, I must confess."
06[12:59] * PopeAnthony the Pope was somewhat taken back. He looked up and prayed for a few moments silently to himself before stating his next words. "The Somalian Coptic Church is welcomed to join the Roman Catholic Church. Of course it would take some change, but I believe it could be done... However if this would be the case, a bishop would be needed, and I believe you
06[13:00] * PopeAnthony would make the perfect person to represent the Vatican to your people if this were to be done... Do you believe you could undertake such a challenge, signor?"
01[13:02] <Denard> "I do think my King sent me for a reason. The thing to remember is that the Coptic Church of Somalia is a very conservative faith. I think what we stand to best benifit from is not assilimiation into the Catholic Church, but recognition and collaboration."
06[13:05] * PopeAnthony "Those are acceptable terms. I'm sure I could find 300 monks in a moment's notice that would be willing to go to your country and begin serving God and working with the Coptic Church. I believe we are at an understanding?" the bells once again boomed. It was now noon and the two had been talking for an hour. It was a loud, powerful sound that nearly shook
06[13:05] * PopeAnthony the walls of the Basilica.
01[13:07] <Denard> "Or perhaps we could consider including several of your more scholarly monks into the King's University project. It is a major new university, privately funded by the King, to include students from all over Africa for the studies of language, faith, medicine, engineering, and so forth."
06[13:11] * PopeAnthony "That is an excellent idea. I will direct one of my cardinals who are in charge of the affairs of the monks so that we could take part in your university. We would be honored to partake. I understand your King's view of the Holy See, does he have a specific view of the Vatican?"
01[13:13] <Denard> "He's not said much about it. I understand the issues he has seem to be more those of his father who hated Catholics to the day he died. That being said, I believe King Beckwith to be sincere in his desire to reconcile whatever issues, no matter how large or small, no matter how rational or more likely irrational. He doesn't offer this lightly, it's a major issue for him and the Kingdom if more tradional Islamic nations object to his decision."
06[13:16] * PopeAnthony "I understand," said the Holy Father with sincerity. He pulled a beaded object from his pocket and handed it to Denard. "This is my rosary. I've had it since I become pontiff a few years ago. I extend this to you, so that the Holy Mother may keep you safe on your travels home and beyond that. I'm very grateful you have come all this way to talk, signor."
01[13:19] <Denard> "Thank you for your kind gesture your holiness, I will treasure it forever. I will relay the contents of our discussion to my King and he will contact you personally in the near future. He also asked me to give you this," and he pulls out a pocket bible written in Somalian. "It is the word of god in the tongue of my people. You'll find a message from my king in it."
06[13:22] * PopeAnthony the Pope raised his right hand and made the sign of the cross before Denard, blessing him Latin before moving out of the pew and bowing before the alter. "You are always welcome in Vatican City, signor Denard. Do not be a stranger." Pope Anthony kept the small bible close to his chest and thanked Denard again before the Swiss Guard would politely show him the way out.06                                 [13:21] *Denard departs quickly as he has quite a bit to do. The Pope would find Revelations 21:5 marked by the King for Pope Anthony's consideration.
