Razgriz 2K9
Fortunately, they had not rushed through the doors, despite the anticipated surprise it should have given the defenders. At one door, the first man through had died, and at another, the woman who'd tested the defense was wounded, but fortunately for The Guild, nothing further was sustained. Fortunately, they had one of the advantages that came with being the force that advanced—they could use weapons from captured or killed enemies. To get an exact fix on the defending turrets, one of the oldest tricks in the book was used—mirrors. A small reflecting device was edged carefully past the edge of the hole, and the reflection used to aim grenades up and over the armor on the guns, to land just behind the persons manning the turrets. If those didn't work, they'd use a rocket or two to simply blast the turrets to smithereens. Any turret they were fortunate enough to capture whole, however, would be used against the enemy... A message would arrive at the home of the local mafia. The Guild is willing to support campaign to your benefit with propaganda, funds, etc. We will even throw in a shipment of free weapons. We simply ask the right to steal from whom we wish, with no more repercussions from law enforcement than you would allow to be drawn to yourselves, and to recruit from the local civilians. If agree to this, you may also supply a list of individuals whom you do not wish us to steal from, and we in turn promise to leave them alone, and to refrain from any feuds with you or any other organizations to whom you are allied. I am also amenable to a meeting, if that is what you wish. Please indicate your wishes clearly in your reply. Signed, Nighthawk At the bottom was the seal of The Guild. And attached to the message would be an anonymous address they could send any reply to, be it via messenger or simply another note. The Candidates and the Mafiya each sent one of their aides to the adress listed to meet with the Guild.
Subtleknifewielder
The Candidates and the Mafiya each sent one of their aides to the adress listed to meet with the Guild. They would be met by a pair of guards, in the stereotypical sunglasses and suits outfit, and escorted inside. The interior of the building was not as lavish as the outside might suggest, rather being more functional than decorational. "Welcome, my friends," said the man sitting at the table, a hawk-faced man who smiled and stood as they approached. He offered his hand to each of them in turn, should they wish to shake it. Razgriz 2K9
The Candidate's aide, Stefan Daletski, and the Mafiya's aide, a female named Leonida Bagration, respectively shook hands with one another as well as the Guild's contact. Leonida was the first to speak, "Thank you for the welcome, I assume you are Mr. Nighthawk, am I correct?" The Candidate's aide added about the welcome, "Same here." Subtleknifewielder
"Thank you for the welcome, I assume you are Mr. Nighthawk, am I correct?" He nodded. "Indeed," he said. In his voice was the barest hint of an Australian accent. "Please, have a seat," he said, waiting to sit until all his guests had done so before sitting himself. "Now, it has come to my attention that campaigning for elections has begun. The Guild does not wish to put a candidate of its own into office. However, we recognize the benefits coming from having friends in high places."
Razgriz 2K9
OOC: Yay, Real Life. IC: The Candidate's aide looked at Mr. Nighthawk saying, "You seem like a mysterious kind of person, but why would your organization want to help our party in getting a Prime Minister in office? The Mafiya's aide said, "What he's trying to say is, if you side with our guys and his guys, we'll make sure that your people's are elected to the top dog's position, right?" "As I said, The Guild does not wish to actually put forth a candidate for public office. In our line of work, it's better not to be in the limelight," he stated dryly. "Thieves don't work their best in broad daylight. Oh, rest assured, that is all we are, thieves, when it comes down to it." "The benefits? Every once in a while our plans don't work out the way we intend, and our operatives are end up being pursued by the local authorities. We want assurances that should this happen, and if you are capable of it, that you would call off or misdirect the searches. If you can promise us this, we can provide funds, and possibly even propaganda support." He looked at the Mafia's aide. "And we have some supplies you could use, free of charge, as well." He wasn't sure how much the canndidate and their aide knew about their ]Mafia supporters. OOC: No problem. Razgriz 2K9
With that thought in mind, as well as the thought of bringing much needed funds (for the Candidates and Federal Government) and arms (for the Mafiya) they both agreed. The Candidate's aide saying, "We accept your conditions then. We hope to do business with you guys in the future."

Subtleknifewielder
The Guild Darina Compared to the transfer of funds to fuel the successful campaign for Prime Minister, the transfer of a portion of the captured weaponry to the local mafia was a cinch. But in no way had they turned over every scrap of captured weaponry. There were other potential buyers, and they had to make up any losses incurred by selling what they had. The Principality, right next door, was looked at with an appraising eye, and a messenger sent to negotiate a possible sale. Subtleknifewielder
OOC: you'll have to bear with me. i have no idea what these things really cost, and i don;t know a lot of varieties. IC: The local leaders perused the list. "Let's see what our inventory is," Nighthawk stated firmly, "before we reply." He looked at the list "Disregard anything on here that isn't a weapon (excepting ammunition), as that is all we offered, and all they asked for." Some time later, the reply was sent. All prices were in Hanseatic marks, the local currency. Sidearms: Desert Eagles: 200 (cost per unit: 800) M191: 50 (Cost per unit: 400) M9: 150 (700) Beretta 92FS: 100 (750) Total Cost for these: 360,000 The rest of the list was along the same vein. The Assault Rifles altogether came to 1 million, and 800,000 for the sniper rifles. The Explosives cost the Principality 100,000 In total the price was 2260000 Hanseatic Marks. this comprehensive list was sent back, along with a meeting place--an unoccupied warehouse on the border of their organizations' respective territories.
