Large Demonstration in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires - Following the war in Europe a large group of 100,000 men and women have assembled to hold a peaceful demonstration within the streets of Buenos Aires. Their purpose? Asking the Empress to withdraw from all current conflict zones. The nation having been under mobilized state for years in their opinion can not handle many more wars. The demonstrations have so far remained peaceful with no intervention by the police having been needed. While this shows the nation is tired of war the war in Europe has 70% of the Imperials behind them with groups from all sections of society and the lowest ranks staying dedicated to their allies.

In response the Press Secretary of Imperial Affairs has stated the Empress understands their case but must defend the friends of the Empire, it is however expected financial compensation will become available for the families of those deployed for a long time.

First Elections Since the Disbandment of the Republic

Buenos Aires - In line with a more open approach to the population the Empress in her weekly address of the people has announced the creation of a 3rd Council, the Assembly of People. The new Assembly will take over from the Advisory Council and vote on issues involving the internal affairs of the nation. The Advisory Council is being renamed to the Imperial Council and maintains the authority to turn down laws proposed by the Assembly and in a majority vote can call for the removal of any Government official, with the exception of the Empress. While this opens up a more open nation to the people the Empress still maintains sole authority over the Foreign Affairs and Military in addition to having a veto on everything the Assembly or Council do. The first election is set for the 25th of November. All citizens above the age of 21 are allowed to vote.

Imperial Bank of the Phoenix Issues New Currency

Buenos Aires - Months after the forming of the Empire the Imperial Bank has announced the new design for the Imperial Dollar, while completely different in looks the currency is still backed at the same exchange rate with the economy of the Empire. The old Imperial Dollar can be exchanged at all banks or used to pay for the next year, after this year the old dollar officially will be declared worthless and no longer backed by the Imperial Bank. Santiago - In a large coordinated operation between the Provincial and Imperial Police Departments over 50 raids in various complexes of Imperial companies have been held to enforce the Imperial Act Against Animal Testing passed 2 years ago. Over 400 people have been arrested and thousands of animals have been found. According to Animal Protection hundreds of animals in such a state they could do nothing but end their lives. The others are treated in animal shelters and will be evaluated. Important Foreign Policy Announcement

After reviewing our current positions on Foreign Policy and actions within the International World as of late, the Phoenix Empire hereby officially bans all trade with the Eurasian Union(nations on the day of this announcement, future members will be reviewed), ships flying the flag of a member nation will not be allowed within the EEZ and citizens entering Imperial territory will be arrested, should they prove to be soldiers executed. All aircraft will be shot down without warning. Likewise Imperial citizens are banned from traveling to the members of the Eurasian Union and Imperial Aircraft will avoid its territory. Deutschland will not face the same actions. Being under a Joint Administration these measures do not affect the city of La Paz.

Imperial Department of Defense Opens Strategic Research Wing

San Luis - After years of construction the SRW has been officially finished, this enormous complex with wings being build throughout the Empire feature the most advanced equipment to create technology Imperial Soldiers can use in combat. It has already managed to create the technology for multi-megaton warheads currently a 1.2 megaton version is planned to be implemented throughout the arsenal. In addition the complex has developed improvements on weapons and armor making the soldiers several times more efficient. Several Classified researches are currently being developed.

Aesir Industries a part of the SRW headquartered in Buenos Aires had completed research on a new combat armor to be implemented within all divisions of the Marine Corps and Army. This new suit would feature several advantages over the old one. Featuring a Satellite uplink that shows all information relevant to the soldier, full protection equal to a NBC suit and increased protection against small arms would make it a strong foe against enemies. The look of it alone would already scare enemies. Above all these defensive measures the suit would provide greater ease and improve the physical strength of the soldier using a build in Exoskeleton. A sidearm was conveniently placed at the right leg should the soldier get out of ammo with the main rifle. The Fenris Combat Armor Suit was designated as Level 2 Export making it available to allies with at least a MDoAP.

OOC: Well that would count for the highly special and above human like capablities. While this suit offers some more protection and a bit of ease in regards to weight a good bullet will still hit and the armor itself is from basic materials current day nations could maintain. The only expensive part would be the build in computer but seeing the US is currently developing a similar system and with my tech year at 2020 it should be payable.

OOC: Right it has filters and in general the materials mentioned will stop most gasses. In addition I redirect you to this article http://www.gizmag.com/go/3062/ . It's one of the many describing the plans that aren't that much different from this suit except the looks. Of course it wont block every single bullet or something it's just an added layer of defense.

Buenos Aires - Under a blue light showing a Defcon increase to 4 the Imperial Pentagon called for a Press conference, with recent developments most already had an idea on what was going on. Even then the speech amazed all in the room.

"Around 4 years, the total time the Imperial Defensive Armed Forces have been mobilized in one way or another either domestically or internationally. During this period we have never gone above Defcon 3 and had around 2 and a half years under Defcon 1. Today this will change, due to the lack of international conflicts that involve the Empire or any internal strife the Imperial Department of Defense hereby announces the global decrease on all levels to Defcon 4 with the exception of the PACCOM Headquarters in Miyako. In addition to this new defcon level 200,000 Soldiers as of the 6th of december will be granted 2 months of leave, this will be rotated over the next year to grant every soldier at least 4 months of free time. The Navy and Marines in the European conflict zone are currently being pulled back and are expected to be back home before the 5th to attend the festivities in regards to Sinterklaas, the Empress' Birthday and Day of the Empire. Large Construction on Mount Imperial

Río Gallegos - Today the Assembly and Imperial Council approved a relatively large plan to construct an estate on Mount Imperial(OOC: Monte Fitz Roy) as home for the Empress and small bunker underneath it to serve as a command post in times of war. The expected payment is incredibly large totalling around a billion I$ leading critics to argue corruption is pressent with overly expensive contracts. The Imperial Department of Internal Affairs has announced this amount is neccesary to create a safe place for the government to operate from should the nation ever face an invasion or Nuclear Strike.

In reality Mount Imperial would not become a simple home and command post but an autonomous and fully equipped compound. Deep under the mountain vegetation would be created and even some animals would be held to provide meat. Using large oxygen farms it would also elminate the need for constant air vents to the surface. It was estimated if finished to sustain around 100 humans for years at maximum quality and even more if supplies are rationized. The interior in itself would be nothing short of the palaces within the living areas. A dedicated computer system with direct access to nuclear missile silos would also allow remote detonation and launch of all Nuclear Weapons. The Military area featured even more security measures being in the core of the mountain and complex it would have autonomous enviromental and control systems not to forget the blast doors which once locked would not soon open themselves. Inside the military core rations and oxygen was still pressent though highly limited and for a few weeks at most. This situation was unlikely to happen due to the already pressent defenses. The bunker would have a single highly defended entrace at the base of the mountain. The main entrance would be constructed inside the estate with an elevator going through the mountain to the core. 6 Underground railways would go directly to the bunker, 2 of them connected to palaces and the last 4 to harbors and airports throughout the nation should the bunker ever be needed to be evacuated. All access ways but the main entrance could be destroyed from inside the base with Imperial authorization and the main entrance could be closed with blast doors in such a way an army could not get in. Small Nuclear Reactors inside the base would provide power though it was also linked to the nearest energy plant, a connection that could be destroyed in cases of emergency. All within the base of course was designed to be EMP proof.

Finally to demotivate any attack by air a network of radar was to be constructed featuring both high as low frequency to detect most aircraft. Connected to them would bearound 200 squared km of pure AA and SAM installations with several missile defences too. The mountain was declared a Priority 1 complex to ISIS giving it SDI coverage equal to that of the capital. Should a nuke or other explosive actually hit the bunker was constructed to be able to withstand the blast. It was argued to even be able to resist a multimegaton blast within 1.5 nautical miles, the Military core was designed to withstand a 30 megaton blast within 1-nautical-mile. The added costs of this whole project above the 1 billion would be corrected in the balances by adapting some numbers.

Arrest Warrant for Helzan

Paraíso - Today the Imperial Department of Justice issued a rather special arrest warrant, one not covering a single person but a larger group. The development comes at no surprise with being at only a few weeks before the dramatic nuclear strike happened the year before. While not shown on the copy underneath the warrant covers several thousand counts of murder, destruction of Imperial property, crimes against the enviroment and vandalism. When found guilty the maximum sentence will be a life sentence of hard labor.

This announcement has come with great joy from the Veteran's organisation and direct family of the victims. Contrary to expectations defendants will be granted a trial with jury rather than Military tribunal.
