Royal Cochin Navy has commenced the laying of a new set of SOSUS underwater surveillance systems. The new network of SOSUS would essentially be an extension of the existing Cochin -Arctican SOSUS. Three new lines, RCNB St. Paul to Cocos Keeling Islands, Cocos Keeling Islands to Male and Cocos Keeling Islands to Port Blair is being laid out. The hydrographic surveys have determined an optimum track for the laying of cables along a course that would take it strictly in Cochin controlled and International waters. The laying of this nearly 5000 nautical Miles of undersea cables is expected to take around 2 years by the Auxiliary Support Fleet's fleet of six Cable Laying Ships. Each of the three lines would be laid simultaneously with two Cable laying ships devoted full time per stretch supported by logistics support from the three naval bases and Diego Garcia.

As per the Project Gold Shield the first squadron of ADRIS Stealth bombers have been replaced with more advanced photonic circuit variants. The new ADRIS bombers have also been given better ceramic engines with extremely reduced thermal signature with adaptive thermal masking and super cruise. Metallic components have been reduced to almost zero with most of the body being made of hardened carbon fiber and composite materials.

All the ADRIS and ASPER squadrons are being replaced under this monumental project with the decommissioned bombers liable to be used for training and target practice.

Section 323 has created a special task force for developing and testing Cyber Warfare capabilities against a specific target. The so called Project Baldur is composed of the best programmers, hackers and crackers of Section 323 and are assisted by special advisers from National Intelligence Agency. A dedicated facility has been built at Androth Island in Lakshadweep Archipelago for the field testing of Project Baldur's various results. Project Baldr, in its research offices at Koratty Infopark, an obscure IT Special Economic Zone in Kerala, has been provided some of the fastest super computers and databanks ever developed by Tratum Infosystems, the global supercomputing leader. Their task is simple, to find ways to cripple, debilitate and ultimately destroy from within a specific potential enemy of the Kingdom.

The expanded Cochin SOSUS network has also been commissioned after three years of intensive calibration of the new line. As this expansion of Cochin's SOSUS defenses are completed the SOSUS Command has embarked upon a periodic redesigning of the SOSUS networks.

As part of this the entire SOSUS line would be upgraded with an additional layer of 3 Dimensional Aquatic Security Systems. Basically a tethered low tension cable designed to undulate from the bottom of the ocean to the surface, these light weight polymer cables would provide signal reception capability across multiple thermal layers of the ocean. Composed of numerous miniatuare sonar receptacles these tentacle like strands would be tethered to the ocean floor by the weight of its Operating Base while the long strand itself would act as an ELF transmitter and also its buoyant top would always be at the surface of the seas capable of transmitting to Cochin's COMSAT networks. The flexible structural design means that the 3DASS would have a great degree of flexibility when meeting with ocean currents while also retaining structural strength to not get sheared off by the stress of ocean currents. The polymer design is such that though it has its metallic components it would not become a threat to Marine ecosystem. Millions of these extremely cheap 3DASS systems have been manufactured and would be distributed along the course of the existing SOSUS lines and in other vulnerable ocean channels by the Cable Laying Ships of Auxiliary Support Fleet during routine maintenance. The 3DASS system is also being designed to be a canister deployed system to assist the Aerial ASW units of Royal Cochin Navy. Each of these fiber like 3DASS system is 5km long. Initially the 3DASS systems would be deployed every 5 NM offset at random distances from the SOSUS lines so that even if they are tracked the SOSUS lines would prove harder to track.

With the nation approaching war, Strategic Command has gone to DEFCON ONE alert with all strategic defensive and offensive units on full War time alert. With the potential enemies being high technology nations, the Cyber Warfare Policy is fully enacted and Section 323 is readying the nation's networks to be protected. The multi tiered defense mechanisms in existence would any way prevent any Trojan horses from affecting the systems. However in the eventuality of a deblitating electronic or cyber warfare attack that does get through the defenses Section 323 officers all over the nation are also checking and rechecking the multiple redundancies and safeguards built into the systems. At the same time Section 323 and NIA is preparing for offensive operations.

Strategic Reconnaissance Agency has informed the CSRO about the priority designation it needs on satellite launches. In case of satellite attacks on SRA assets currently in orbit, which anyway have triple redundancy, the massive stocks of launch rockets at various Space Launch Centers across the nation are being prepared to make up the loss of reconnaissance assets. Meanwhile Strategic Command Squadron of Royal Cochin Air Force and the various Strategic Offensive trained units across RCAF are being prepped for possible counter attacks on enemy satellite assets. Central Asia is even otherwise covered pretty well by SRA but now additional satellite assets are being launched over Afghanistan and Kazakhstan territories to monitor advance of potentially hostile troop movements.
