1.
Interesting to actually see how deep Ram's delusion goes.... And one final factual point, we definitely did break the letter of the Lux treaty, and TOP were justifiably angry about that. I was under the impression that that had been explained, apologised for and was no longer an issue after the discussions on the matter shortly after Karma, though. And yes, we did it for the right reasons, as I think most in TOP would now acknowledge, as most in the IRON front of Karma acknowledged that we did what we did regarding peace terms for the right reasons.
And if I remember correctly it was Matthew PK who came to our joint forum to explain that he understood that we were upset that their obligations had been breached but that you in Gremlins felt you had no choice and that you thought you were doing the right thing. He and other Gramlins were also at pains to emphasis that they were still our close friends and that we should not take their move as in any way a sign that they were moving away from that friendship.... I think that most of you who said those things at the time truly believed it. But in hindsight Ram had much different ideas for both our alliances. And now I see Ram is desperate to try to rewrite history in order to try to save some semblence of respect.
 2.
I failed to foresee how many people would be swayed by the lies and misinformation opposing the realities of what we're demanding. I failed to foresee that people would actually ignore my repeated explanations of the process we are demanding and pretend that their process was somehow more valid... and that so many people would actually be taken by it! I failed to foresee how many GRE members would run away because they feared for their infra or got hurt by the OWF opinion (not all of them meet these criteria, but many do!)
The thing you failed to see was that your explanations made no sense, that you failed to understand that following Ram was a disaster in slow motion, that you were destroying a once proud and respected alliance and that many of your fellow Gramlins did see what you did not.
 3. What would I do if I was leader of an alliance that had taken over the world? Keeping true to my Europa Universalis Paradoxian spirit, I would release all nations and start playing again. After all a world conquest is really quite boring.
 4.
You are not the police (InterBob? Bobland Yard?), so it is simply not possible for any one to "turn themself in" to you. And you are not superior in any way to IRON/DAWN, so take off the hair shirt, climb down from your pillar, have some water to calm your feverish brains, and come to your senses. Or continue the self flagellation, I am pretty far beyond really caring for you at this point. But have a nice summer
I liked the bit about the hairshirt. Nice touch.
 5.
You may or may not recall that the "final" breakdown of our relationship was among my posts outlining that regardless of the outcome that I would not attack my friends in TOP. I can't recall who exactly was in my .gov at the time but I quite literally told them to go ahead and draft up the court-martial documents for my to sign if there was an intended war. Despite my devotion to our relationship I was met with accusations of being a back-stabber, a coward and a puppet. Note that these accusations did not specifically come from you, but by a collective lack of defense I (and others) perceived them to be endorsed. Even so, at the onset of this war I discussed it with KG again at length. Now, I still have a great affection for many friends in TOP and a great respect for some people in IRON (in fact, I have praised MM in this very thread) but that is quite irrelevant to the nature of our demands here. I feel no pressure to be loyal to any idea I consider unjust; oath or not. Those that know me understand this. Those that assert the opposite either don't know me or are simply taking jabs. I'm sorry that you feel that I'm dumbing anything down. I'm happy to be very descriptive if you're interested in discussion. I feel that I've demonstrated that dedication. However, to paraphrase Ertyy, if any of you want to actually discuss this matter progressively you will stop the accusations that Ram does my thinking for me.
Matthew, I do remember the stance you took about not attacking TOP. I recall your posts as being very compelling. That is why I am confused that you would be a part of what is now going on. Rather more than a part. You have been the main spokesperson for trying to justify what Gre has been up to. I give the benefit of the doubt to you that all of this was not your idea but that you are defending a decision Ram made. I just can't square the circle of the memory of the poster in our forums that I remember and what has now come of you and Gre generally.
 6.
have you actually talked to Ram yet? he is active, a decent orator, and far from charismatic. he is mostly abrasive, abusive, and snide. his ego is far to huge for him to contain, especially whenever he opens his mouth. he was abrasive, abusive, and snide all throughout my time in Gremlins to anyone he spoke with. never once could i ever describe Ram as being in any way charismatic.
I agree with your analysis. That is why it is truly one of the great mysteries to me that Gramlins, with all its fail safes build into its constitution allowed him to ever take over the alliance. When comparing Ram to the rest of the Gramlins (before he took over) it was like the old Seasame Street song - "One of these things just doesnt belong".
 7.
I don't necessarily personally agree with the ESA amendment, but there is absolutely no reason why all of the signatories couldn't agree to amend it.
When the Gramlins and TOP were still very close it was a mystery to me why anyone in the gramlins was giving Ram the time of day. The rest of you seemed like such intelligent logical types and then every now and then Ram would post something that made everyone go . Matthew, I have got to believe that you see the logical problem with this position. If that is so I have got to wonder why you are dumbing down to suit the policies of Ram and why you people have let him lead you to disaster. These are more or less the same questions I had for you before the great schism between our alliances as Ram was taking over. I hope one day, when this is all over and you dont feel any pressure to be loyal to Ram, you will give me an answer.
 8.
The nation of Canuck was unaware of the patent rights of crazy canuck and humble offers $1, 0.01 tech, and 1 soldier as payment for the use of the work Canuck. Alas...the transaction could not proceed as we've received this message from your delegates. We have taken that the royalty payment is to be waived. Have a nice day.
Well played. I give you licence to continue using the word Canuck in consideration for making me laugh.
 9.
One can possess a certain base intelligence level but still be completely delusional to the point where they become stupid.
You make a good point. I suppose that the greater the delusion the more intelligence is required to create such a warped world.
 10. Also, so as to avoid any confusion of me not enforcing my patent rights to the words Canuckistan or Canuck (I give you guys licence to freely use crazy) I must protest. CanucksDynasty, ss much as your Avatar meets with the approval of the citizens of the great nation of CrazyCanuckistan we think that some kind of royalty is payable for the partial use of our nation's name.
 11.
OK, we got it bro. Athens could declare tomorrow if it wanted. Right, got it.
Good. Glad you see it. But do you see the larger point. Logan put it rather well. I dont know why people dont just admit that this was an over-reaction on the one side since the other side has already done all that is reasonably possible to apologize for what at most was an error in judgment. Why is it necessary to keep rattling the sabres and keep an open ended threat alive? What is accomplished by that?
 12. Speaking of a legal infractions. I do believe I have a patent as well as moral rights to the word Canuckistan.
 13.
We always keep our options open.
I have no doubt about that. I was just surprised the other poster didnt recognize the open ended nature of the message that this had been "resolved" for now.
 14.
I believe... HUH? ... is an appropriate response.
Ok, its really rather a simple issue of english comprehension. What do the words
if we wanted a war badly enough, we wouldn't have problems starting one. I am glad that THIS situation is over, for now.
mean to you? One readily available interpretation is that the capitalization of the word THIS and the addition of the menacing modifier at the end "for now" means that "this" is not the only issue and the words "for now" certainly means that he is keeping his options open. Add to that the reference to the fact that this poster believes he has no problems starting wars and you have a post in which it certainly looks like war in the future is not being ruled out.
 15.
my change in demeanor was due to Ramirus's pms.
Perfectly understandable. Earlier in the thread Matt said that RAM was a lot of things but stupid wasnt one of them. I agree to a point. But I wonder if RAM has any recognition of the negative effect he has on others. I wonder if he has any self awareness as to just how poisonous a CN personality he has. If I can trace when things started going wrong between TOP and Gramlins I point directly to the emergence of RAM within their alliance. Now I suppose that distructive CN personality has played itself out to its logical conclusion. As I said early, it is sad to see when I think about how great an alliance Gramlins once were.
 16.
We sat in on some talks that OO set up, at the request of TIO, along with GATO, IAA, OO, and some OO allies I believe. The whole situation is monumentally silly, and it's pretty wildly inaccurate to characterize me as a backer of the situation, as if I were trying to spin a war out of this. I'm not. As Rush said, if we wanted a war badly enough, we wouldn't have problems starting one. I am glad that THIS situation is over, for now.
And yet this whole thing sure looks like someone is keeping their options open.
 17. Fully agree with the folks that are making the point that context is important. Not all comments that might be infered as OOC are meant as such and perhaps some discussion before jumping to conclusions might be helpful.
 18.
They're not completely paperless. Harmlins cannot be canceled even though MHA doesn't feel the same way with Ramlins as of late.
You are probably right about Harmlins not being able to be cancelled. But of course we have seen other relationships sunder that on paper at least could not be cancelled. Watching this once great alliance unwind makes me reflect on the relationship that TOP and Gramlins once had. For a lot of this game we might as well have been in the same alliance. We shared a forum, we shared good friendships and most importantly we shared good times. A day seldom passed here when someone didnt pull out the old joke about not betraying one another because of course everyone knew that would never happen. For many it looked like a merger would be a mere formality. As I said, it is sad (and a cautionary tale) to reflect on the reality today.
 19.
Just so this doesn't get too out of hand, having him apologize to IRON was our terms for peacing out with him over our raid on his nation. Since he fulfilled them, we'll be peacing out now.
Well done. Oh and I thought the OP might be RAM (or at least someone from RAMlins) coming to his senses as well.
 20.
I'm seeing the Gramlins war policy of do not attack, only defend yourself if attacked as predictable behavior now. It's much easier to claim you were only trying to help IRON find forgiveness for our "sins" and "redemption" through contrition if you use these battlefield tactics. The crosses are nearly finished and ready to be comfortably climbed upon in the near future.
As we speak Matthew is doing his best to create some kind of logical construct which shows definitively that it was IRON who forced RAMlins into not accepting peace and all the poor RAMlins could do was hope IRON would unconditionally surrender.
 21.
All the power you receive as a result of your charter is derived from the people that make up your alliance. Without them you have no alliance, no charter, no power. Beyond that, you as someone in charge have as your top priority the protection of membership, for they are encouraged to put everything above themselves.
Thats a good point. Regardless of what an alliance calls its government structure, at the end of the day all CN alliances are a kind of democracy since their members can vote with their pixel feet and leave the alliance if they wish.
 22.
It looks bleak, that doesn't mean that we were unjust.
There are a great many adjectives one could use to describe your actions. Unjust is far down the list of rather more descriptive and accurate words that might be used. You yourself said that anyone who thought you could defeat your foe was an idiot and yet you talk about unconditional surrender. I will leave it to the good people of CN to draw their own conclusions as to what adjective they might use.
 23.
Why would he, He's so far gone now that he might as well see it through to the end When you have reduced his nation to 0 infra 0 tech and Gre are down to just him he'll probably still be demanding your unconditional surrender
I think, even then people like Matthew will come up with some twisted logic explaining that this is the "new way" of the future to achieve success in CN.
 24.
I disagree, I think this thread just made Gremlins position clearer to the population of Bob even though we've seen the same arguments at least 5 times by now. Whether the arguments made by MPK makes Gremlins position more or less irrational is for every individual present here to decide.
Fair enough. But I think Matthew is having trouble keeping his story straight regarding giving terms, not giving terms, etc. Its hard to keep irrational arguments straight in a thread that has lasted as long as this so I suppose his performance is somewhat understandable.
 25.
As for Gremlins, I think their actions are rational, but almost no one agrees with their rationale. So what you get is both sides making the same arguments all over each time since they cannot convince the other of their position. How many times have we gone circular in this thread by now?
Circular is by defintion when you end up in the same place each time. It seems to me this thread has made some progress in showing just how irrational the Gremlins position is. As with all forms of irrational behaviour some of them may not yet realize the problem but I am sure the possibility of recognition is at least closer then it was before.
