Good New Frontier I appreciate candour in your posts. I hope you did not feel I was as you so quaintly put it "dog piling" you. I was simply clarifying it was always the intent to only keep this single thread and update it each week. I may not have been clear enough in the initial post. Gentle Persons A commitment was made to ensure transparency of purpose and membership. I appreciate that wasted threads have permeated OWF. To that end only this thread, not weekly new threads will be updated. In addition I tried to be as specific as possible in the thread title “Realm of The Rose, Official Member and Applicant list". While some others may see merit in cute and misleading titles I felt specificity would eliminate the need for those with little interest in this information from the requirement to open this thread for viewing. I am pleased that many have chosen to view it and thus the value of the effort to keep it updated is manifest. It is not the norm for milestones for the OBR to be publicly broadcast nor do we tend towards the public accolades of hail threads. So I do beg the indulgence of Digiterra where we make a weekly update of a members list of nations that might well have prevented ill will for other alliances if this expediency had been followed in the past. First while I would like to believe our post on CN Wiki would draw the interest and admiration of all, we are all aware that few if any visit that spot for any alliances unless looking for something specific. It is true that even the OWF lacks full coverage by all nations. It is however the venue most suited to dissemination of public information, thus, so there is no confusion or misunderstanding weekly postings of our membership and applicants will be here for all to see. Gentle Persons Do not feel you must try to keep up with Noble (DAC)Syzygy one of the most knowledgeable in the game when it comes to game mechanics. The truth is the ratio of tech to infrastructure also depends on what it is you seek to achieve. As was stated if you are building up a cash reserve as a newer nation and wish to engage in tech trading then your ratio of tech to infra will by necessity remain smaller. If you are attempting to militarize as was stated by the Noble (DAC)Syzygy then you will wish to pump up your tech. To enhance your economics you would put more effort and money into infra structure as this will also speed your improvement purchases. Like wonders it is your goal that should determine your purchases. There is no magic formula or I am certain my Gramlins friends would already have broken that code. Disrespectful, pornographic, racist, sexist or derogatory posting on RotR forums or any of the IRC channels that the OBR/Blackwater/RotR oversees or any public forum such as the OWF. 5. Failure to live up to agree upon terms for trades, tech or donation deals. 6. Recruitment for outside organizations of RotR members or Aligned nations of recognized alliances. 7. Failure to notify RotR of past conflicts or potential outstanding issues with other nations or alliances. 8. General behaviour showing disrespect for RotR, Blackwater or OBR members or keeping of the RotR rules. 10. Aid, donation or trade to any non-RotR, Blackwater or OBR nation that is engaged in a current conflict or whose alliance is engaged in a current conflict or who is on an official ZI or enemies list unless expressly authorized in advance by the OBR designated rep after providing legitimate reason and details of the current conflict. Penalties All violations will be determined for severity and punishment by the designated OBR appointed judge. Penalties include. 1. For minor first time offences, penance of addition work may be assigned. 2. Repeat minor offences or slightly more serious violations may result in temporary suspension of rights including trading or deal inclusion. 3. More serious violations will result in permanent expulsion. 4. Offences bringing harm to RotR, Blackwater or OBR members or reputation will result in military punishment up to reduction of a nation to zero infrastructure and permanent ban from dealings with RotR, Blackwater and OBR. 5. All serious violation sanctions may, after 45 days, be reviewed upon petition to The Knights Council of OBR for recommendation to our Liege Lady for her gracious leniency. Administrative Policy 1. All Member nation names and ruler names of RotR will be posted on the OWF weekly. 2. All applicants will be posted for a period of one week on OWF for any nation or alliance to bring valid compliant before acceptance as member. 3. An advisory council of will be invited to be convened to provide advice on RotR member activities that have been seen to violate the spirit of the RotR or OBR policy or treaty. 4. Any complaint about the actions of a RotR member will be responded to within 48 hours of official receipt in writing on the RotR board. Summary judgment will be provided within 48 hours after that time publicly on the RotR board. Should the nation bearing the complaint not make themselves available within the first 48 hours following the formal complaint, Immediate suspension of rights shall occur not to be reinstated until sufficient evidence or recompense is presented to the satisfaction of OBR and hopefully the complainant to renew the members rights. 5. Any attack on any member in good standing as posted publicly on the OWF shall be construed as an attack on Blackwater and OBR and shall be dealt with as such. 6. All RotR members will be required to formally check in on the boards at least weekly and are encouraged to check the forum every two days for notices. 7. The board will contain a post for tech, trade and donation opportunities. A forum for outside deals may be open if there is sufficient interest or need but all outside aid, trade, and tech or donation deals must be approved in advance. 8. All members will be required and permitted to place either within their AA the RotR or Realm of the Rose designation.

Good Admin The most bizarre event happened today. After collecting taxes earlier in the day I came back two find to lovely recruiting messages. The reason. When I logged back on my nation had been punted to peace mode and my AA had been dropped. There is NO ONE else that has ever had my password so unless I have been hacked there is a bug. I have restored my AA but I am stuck in peace mode. Gentle Persons If I may place a simple thought into play here. We are debating whether Tech goes out of date and thus becomes obsolete. If the argument was taking place in isolation I might be able to see the merits of that argument but I do favour the opposite opinion. However this debate should not be taken in isolation. The same argument legitimately and frankly more validly applies to many other facets of the game system. In RL dread that comparison military equipment including nukes goes obsolete very fast and no modern army would continue to have Yak 9 or P-51s even in reserve. Bridges, roads and water works are in constant need of replacement and upgrade. Working land left to seed loses its value. Now it could be argued that the daily bills paid are keeping these things up to date. Thus the most logical argument would be to add a daily cost for technology and land not to have them become obsolete. Now please Oh Great Admin this is NOT a call for those to be added but simply stating that the argument for making tech, specifically, obsolete simply does not make logical sense. Gentle Persons I am somewhat amused to see the terms "abused the system" gratuitously thrown about. I am one who has used the system to the fullest extent of my knowledge. I do not keep my military at the bare minimum as would be most economically efficient , I do not keep my military sort of ready. I keep a full military complement because there is more to the game than economics or NS. My military will remain at its premium value that avoids the majority of Happiness penalties but at the highest level because apparently unlike some I have no prescience as to the time someone may choose to attack me. I used the NS bonus to buy nukes as soon as possible, since I was willing to pay the economic price of maximum vigilance by having at all times maximum military I have no guilt. Would I have preferred maintaining a higher NS for paying the economic price for maintaining a higher military yes. I believe that was more realistic. The world changed just as it does in RL. Happened when I had concentrated on building up tech and that changed, now it happened to military. I would have liked that what I planned met no changes ,no interruptions no flys in the ointment but to quote a great line form a movie. "You're Marines now. You adapt. You overcome. You improvise. Let's move. " The rules have changed so we change with them. The abuse of a bug is one thing using the system that is set out for us is simply prudent. GPA and Gramlins did it their way they take the good with the bad and respect to them for doing so. Remember the first time somebody showed you "castling' or "en Passant" in Chess boy did that rot your socks but you learned and the game changed and got better for you. Good Persons If I may support the indications by Admin of a reduction of the attack Range. I am relatively new at 200 days but certainly feel that this along with the NS changes will tighten up the landscape and add some flavour to the combats that are fought. I am not certain I agree that Armed forces should be quite so heavily discounted as they were but I play the system as it is not was. A reduction of the attack spread would if we ever see a "fair" fight again require a new level of Strategic planning which in my view would be welcome. I would suggest even an 80% to 120% spread would not be out of order as we have seen significant reductions in Military NS modifiers. Respectfully Page Hime Themis

Good Dvmai You question is more than economics. Leaving collection of for more days than required to collect the bonus does nothing for the economics. In addition if specific events or purchases are upcoming then waiting to collect when your bonus will be better makes economic sense. The risk of waiting to collect is an unexpected loss of a trade partner, war or negative event. Politically the lack of collection appears to be inactivity making you appear a better target for a raid or war. I personally when I do not have a specific event coming up collect every second day. as I max out the interest bonus at that time. This is also effected by your choice of Defcon and Threat level as they may only be changed every day and you may wish not to put yourself at risk as often with a lowered defcon level. Gentle Persons Much depends upon your resources and the global radiation level effects it as well(for the environment bonus). I for example am at my best with 5 border walls. Seti has the right idea. There is no set best level for everyone. Start at 0 and build one at a time until the tax level decreases and then delete the last one. The cost will be made up by better efficiency. Gentle Persons I am aghast that Noble Syzygy the wise (rare to be up one on him) did not immediately point out the obvious reason. Border walls were built thus reducing your population. As a new player I have looked around at various individual tech selling offers. What I would like to know from the more experienced players is which alliances are known for honesty and the ability to mount bigger tech sales? I really do not want this to become a flame site for those who have had a bad deal. I am looking for positive references from those who have bought and arranged bigger tech deals. I know you all love your alliances but "We are the best "posts do not really help either. The older nations would be the most useful posters. Please lets show courtesy to others.
