  1. lumber saves me a lot more on bills than cattle can make for me so lumbers is 4th above cattle. It may be less effective for younger nations but once you break 6000 infra it is a must have. Lumber keeps growing in effectiveness. As I grow to 15000 infra I would imagine it will save me double the amount cattle makes for me. My bills are 8.58 million and most of it is infra upkeep. My lumber saves me 1.3 million dollars in bills alone despite savings on infra purchasing. As I grow this grows faster than cattle can make for me. Cattle makes me only 1 million dollars
  2. No you already bought the citizen boosting wonders which makes border walls less effective. The more of them you have the less effective border walls are. It is because the - 2% is bigger hit if you boosted your citizens up with lots of resources and wonders that increase citizens. Therefore more wonders you buy the less useful a border wall is. Also more infra you have the less useful a border wall is.
  3. first you have wonders that boost citizens so you are taking a big hit each border wall as you have a lot of citizens. Next after 3rd border wall they usually start hurting more than helping. Don't buy all 5 but 1 or 2 or maybe 3. Find which is helpful it varies according to what your nation has for improvements and wonders and resources. 1 is all that helps me.
  4. Yep I tested it out and going to the option to buy nukes I gained the 1 happiness back. But the 7.50 - 2.00 is 5.50 you are loosing. Which gives me a lot of money. I can buy and launch nukes as I need of course that doesn't help if multiple nations attack. But just gotta hope others can join in and buy a nuke and launch one on the others. Of course now SDI even makes it harder for a nuke to work.
  5. When I was smaller I used 3 but soon I was loosing money and so now I only use 1. The loss of 2 percent of 143k people is larger than the 2 happiness gives now I own a lot of wonders. The wonders boosted my income for each citizen a lot. I do need the 1 to keep my environment clean but once I buy the wonder that cleans environments I won't even need it. Now they don't help with global radiation at all they soon won't help me. There is no way to swap these out to profit from them. Basically 2 happiness is 2.40 so I have 143753 cits thus 345k approx 2 percent citizen is 2800 citizens but I make 140.62 per which means around 390k but if my environment is hurting I clean it up I get another 10 citizens and .4 happiness which gives me 75k Numbers aren't exact but it did give me about 25k extra. And I lost about 45k when I bought my second one which didn't clean the environment.
  6. Lumber definitely not useless it is very cost saving on bills. While marble is sorta useless. I don't use it I get it only once in a while when I am ready to buy infra. I find me a person who has marble/alum and pay them to trade with me after saving 300 to 500 million and then buy up infra. Wheat fish lumber and iron are extremely useful. I have done tests to see which resourse get me the most and I have to rank them in this order 1 iron 2 fish 3 wheat 4 lumber 5 cattle 6 uranium 7 pigs 8 water 9 spice with fast food 10 sugar 11 gems 12 wine Now I ranked them in making money not saving me buying power. With the first 12 mentioned I make 20.2 million a day and will soon be higher with more wonders. The combo to get affluent population now comes very close to this with affluent population giving 5 percent citizens and fine jewelry giving more happiness. The other way to go is savings of course that means rubber oil etc to get construction automobile asphalt steel etc and you save a ton on bills at my level but I prefer to make tons of cash for war time. Money is all that really matters if you end up in bill lock then you can't do anything. Even in anarchy I make several million dollars profit over bills and can buy a nuke and launch attacks with these 12 resources.
  7. Using uranium for nukes also prevents you from the 7.50 cents bonus to economy. Uranium does have a -1 happiness ontop of the negative economy effects.
  8. Yes you are right there is a turning point but I am well past it. I make 450 per citizen. The only thing is it is really easy for anyone to go past 450 per citizen.
  9. NRL raised me up more than any other wonder. 5 percent more citizens is more money for me than 5 happiness. One reason I don't have border walls. I make over 20 million a day.
  10. Actually I think you go into anarchy if you dismiss over half your on hand soldiers even though it is more than 20 percent of your citizens. I am definitely sure you get a 50 percent loss in tax collecting and it didn't go away after government change not immediately. I think I only waited one day. I don't know if waiting longer helps. I do know tank swapping doesn't put you into anarchy and is a lot of savings.
  11. Yes doing tank swaps is well worth it. But soldiers really isn't all that if you have barracks. You get only 10.00 per soldier at most and you do get anarchy if you go under 20 percent. You do have a huge negative effect it is anarchy and last time I got into anarchy I didn't loose the half off my collecting until I finally collected. I even waited a few days and it never went away though I wasn't in anarchy.
  12. You definitely should do large jumps after 8000. The wonders you own make a huge difference on when to stop. If you have all the money making ones then you shouldn't need to stop. The best trick is doing 20 day labor camp / wonder purchasing. What do I mean? You get enough money and set up so you have 20 days til your next wonder purchase and you pay bills only for 20 days drop the labor camp and buy a wonder that increases your money and then collect taxes. This will give you that boost of the wonder for 19 days you never even owned it. Then you collect for 2 more days and buy back labor camps. Then do a 8 day labor camp swap so you can do another 20 day labor camp swap and wonder purchase.

  14. Oil Rubber and Coal are very useful resources when getting steel construction asphalt and auto. They save you more money than many others can make you. This is even more so as you get higher in infra. Lead Gold and Fur definitely are weak. Fast Food for me at 8359.9 infra is huge at making money. With all national wonders you make more with 1% citizens than you make with 1 hap or 2.00. Each citizen makes so much with all the additional happiness boost from all the wonders. At early stages Fast Food helps with more improvements but isn't as good as gems but that changes later. Cattle is always good with 5% cits. Thus Fast Food is relevant to what you have. Improvements always varies. Like if you aren't making a lot of money early on you may want stadiums over banks. Banks are only useful if you make a lot. You should go 3 schools and 2 univ so you can do tech deals at early stages though.
