  1. Right now it's impossible to find rulings, and everyone and their mother is posting long arguments, or useless "witty" remarks, or alarmist statements. It's absurd.

I propose that two rules be implemented, based off of how rules are implemented.
    1. GM's Hall is a no discussion thread, where only the involved parties post their case and, if requested by a GM, clarification of their case. Then a clear ruling should be posted, and that is the end of it. Requests for spy rolls also go in the hall.

    2. Should a disagreement with the ruling happen, the disagreeing party starts a discussion thread on a specific ruling. After a minimum of two weeks, which would give time for even the least active players to see the thread, a poll would be held on the ruling. Only a 75% community majority would null the ruling.

Of course we could just scream "no we don't need more rules" and continue the circus that is the current GM's Hall.

I agree with Chicago and Lynneth. I really like your first point but not really the second one. I mean we already vote in the GMs and have constant elections. We don't need to have a referendum on every single ruling. This isn't California :P

  2. Seeing as Aegis is a key element in real-life ballistic missile defence I believe fleets should be able to fall under SDI coverage as well as actual territory. Deployed ground and air force is a bit more iffy, I would say sufficiently large formations could have ballistic missile defences however smaller groups definitely couldn't.

"Captain, why do you think they waited to deploy us until now to Alaska and British Columbia? Tikal and Cascadia seem to be taking care of law and order fairly well." The captain's first mate kept watch of the radar but otherwise didn't have much to be doing at the moment. The captain checked his watch and their bearings. He looked up to his first mate, "Now that we've finished up with the Cornhuskers, I think the president and the governor believes we owe it to Tikal to help out with North American affairs since we have fallen a bit behind. I'm sure the Tikalian soldiers up in Alaska are just about frozen right now along with the Cascadians, we can provide some much needed relief."

The first mate was watching the door as well. He saw a white tailored navy uniform and immediately stood up and saluted. "Admiral on deck!" The captain, first mate, and other officers did the same. "At ease laddies. What's our position? I told the governor I'd break radio silence once we deploy the guardsmen to the beaches." Everyone relaxed but the captain and first mate remained standing while the others quickly went back to their jobs and watching their instruments.  "Our ETA to launch point is thirty minutes sir. We'll be deploying to Anchorage first, as you know. Additional orders?"

The admiral nodded, "Signal the other ships to begin preparing for launch. I'll get on coms personally." Edward grabbed the bridge microphone and clicked it on. "Attention sailors and soldiers of the PFS Sam Houston Aircraft Carrier, this is Admiral Edward Teach. All TNG ground-force units are to prepare for beachhead landing. Be in your designated areas in fifteen minutes. Your mission today will help save the lives of thousands of Alaskans and Canadians who need medical supplies, food, water and the establishment of law and order. Show them some Texan hospitality while you're at it. Admiral out."

Sailors on the FPS Sam Houston signaled to adjacent ships to prepare for the beachhead landing. One-thousand six-hundred and eighty soldiers boarded the Amphibious Assault Vehicles loaded onto the San Antonio Class Amphibious Transport Docks. The AAVs launched straight from the ships into the water. Meanwhile, each San Antonio ship had two LCACs capable of carrying six LAV-25s which transported another three-hundred and sixty troops to shore. The remaining four-hundred and sixty troops would be airdropped by the V-22 Ospreys on each of the San Antonios. The fleet was within a reasonable range for the aircraft carrier to have a reasonable effect if needed. When the first wave of men made it to the beaches they would set up defensive positions and establish contact with the fleet. At that point, Admiral Teach contacted the governor and updated him on "Operation Salmon". Governor Sparks would make sure the Secretary of State of Texas would relay the information back to Oklahoma for the president to know.

Once the men were on land, Tikal and Cascadia would be alerted that the Texans had made landfall and would begin their humanitarian mission. Medical supplies, food, and water stored on different ships of the fleet would be brought to shore by helicopter. Once everything was considered safe, a small flotilla consisting of the San Antonio Class ships and a few frigates would head back to Hawaii to pick up more supplies and troops. As this had happened, the twenty-thousand reinforcements from Texas would be on their way from Tikal to Port Niihau in Hawaii.

    Director and Mister Minister,

Under the authority of the President and Congress of The Plains Federation, Governor Anthony Sparks has deployed the Texas National Guard to assist Tikal and Cascadia in establishing an American protectorate for new nations to arise in Alaska and the other relevant Canadian provinces on the Pacific Coast. I apologize that we are a little late in coming to the show, but we are going to come in a large force in a supportive role. I am sure the environment up there is rough and your men are tired; the Texans will be happy to assist in any way they can. I just wanted to give both the Tikalian and Cascadian governments a heads up. Expect the deployments to come sometime today.

Please let me know if there are any problems,

The Texas Maritime National Guard successfully deployed its fleet to the TNG base, Port Ni'hau in Hawaii along with 2,500 soldiers of the Texas Army National Guard. The General of The Texas Army National Guard would contact the armed forces of the Principality of Tikal and request them to let 20,000 soldiers of the Texas Army National Guard through who will be travelling to the Port Ni'hau and then be deployed to the Pacific Coast.

Meanwhile, the Texas Maritime Fleet set sail fully armed, manned, and equipped with tanks, transport vehicles, aircraft, weapons, and humanitarian aid. The fleet would first head for Anchorage, Alaska. Other cities would follow suit. They would head towards the city in a defensive position. If anything change they would be prepared to defend themselves or alter course.

The entire first fleet of the Texas Maritime National Guard would be deployed to Port Ni'lhau in Hawaii where they would begin training exercises. By the time the first fleet made it to Hawaii, the first aircraft carrier for the Plains Federation would be set into the Pacific Ocean fully armed, manned, and ready to set sail anywhere in the world. The Nimitz Class aircraft carrier had been built thanks to the hard work of thousands of Maritime Guardsmen and a very nice grant from the Federated government.

5 San Antonio Amphibious Transport Docks were built and set to sea at Port Arthur. The day almost came to a tragic end when the ships were all nearly grounded in the sandy, sludgy bottom of the water of the short straight which connected the Sabine Lake to the Gulf of Mexico. Luckily, they made it into the Gulf without running aground but would not be able to go back up the river into the Lake again. They would head to the Port of New Orleans fully manned and armed. The Mayor of New Orleans would be notified and the Texas Government would be billed for the space the ships would take up when docked. Once room was made at the Port of Houston or the Port of Galveston, the ships would head there and wait for their first deployment, assignment, or training exercise.

The Admiral of The Texas Maritime National Guard sent a classified message directly to the Governor's Office that the Sabine River which connects the Gulf of Mexico to the Sabine Lake needs to be dredged for the national security of the Plains Federation and to allow Port Arthur to actually be viable to construct warships.

The Church of Sleepy Hollow has declared its intent to further research in astronomy and naval navigation. The Baron approved an observatory to be built on the Ishpatina Ridge which is the highest point in Sleepy Hollow at 2,274 feet above the ground level. NASA pledged to assist the isolationist State in designing and setting up its telescopes. Baron Dusk has pledged Sleepy Hollow will pay for all of the associated costs.

  8. Howdy Partner (England),

Tell Scotland we said hey. We were grounded a while back during the midterm elections but now I think foreign policy isn't really a big deal to the people so going to your island for the party sounds pretty awesome. If Ireland or the Germans are coming I hope you ask them to bring the girls. We'll send that guy that runs Texas and someone from the State Department. See you there.

P.S. I think Louisiana wants to be your friend or something, I don't know. They just said to say hi. Kinda weird..

The General The Texas Army National Guard activated 3,000 guardsmen that would assist the Texas Maritime National Guard in transporting the materials to Alaska and Greenland. The Admiral of The Texas Maritime National Guard directed seven Zar Class Corvettes to escort storage vessels to Greenland and Alaska along with the few thousand National Guardsmen who would construct their own air, army, and naval facilities at the Tikalian bases. While the Texas National Guard did not have large naval ships at the time, the facilities would be accommodated to house such ships for when the Maritime Guard built it them later.

To The Directorate of Diplomacy of The Principality of Tikal

    Director,

We would be happy to take the alternative. The Texas National Guard has volunteered to take up the task of building additional structures in your facilities so that we can operate them as joint facilities. I'm assuming the presence of the Air National Guard wont be a problem once airstrips and hangers are built. The Maritime National Guard will also come in once the appropriate naval facilities are constructed. I'll make sure that the Texas National Guard stays in constant contact with the Tikalian armed forces. In the mean time, expect large shipments to be headed towards the facilities from us.

    Director,

In order to keep our stellar track record of military cooperation and active diplomacy I wanted to ask if the Tikalian government had an interest in allowing the Federation armed forces to establish military facilities in Greenland and Alaska to reinforce every American's stance that colonialism is not acceptable. Let me know if you had anything else in mind or would like to talk further on the matter.

  12. I don't remember the last time we had a mapmaker that was an idiot. Lynneth is always neutral. Cent isn't biased when it matters. Mogar is Mogar but I think "idiot" would be a step above the occasional ignorance or blinding hatred he has.

That's why the mapmaker gets these special privileges. A generally not stupid non-elected public official.

As requested by Governor Sparks, the Texas Maritime National Guard has constructed three Horizon-Class frigates to better protect the Plains Federation, Texas, maritime trade, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Texas Nationalists Hold Rally in San Antonio

Nationalist Party holds a peaceful independence rally, 1,000 demonstrators strong.

After suffering huge losses in the midterm elections, the Nationalist Party funded an "Independence Rally" in San Antonio outside of the Alamo. Over one-thousand supporters showed up for the movement with onlookers coming in the afternoon after national media attention.

The Nationalist Party has continued its stance that session ought to be done peacefully and within the law. The more radical leaders who were calling for revolution were voted out at the midterm but remain an outspoken voice in the Texas political sphere. Governor Spark's Office did not support nor condemn the protest; only stating that "All Americans have the right so express themselves peacefully."

The Nationalist Party remains the smallest political party in Texas after continued prosperity under Governor Anthony Sparks and Reese Administration.
