  1. I'd say you win when you accomplish your goal/s, whatever it/they might be.
  2. You hear that? It's the Darkness calling you...
  3. That's what she said. If you join in the next 20 minutes, you'll get free cookies for two months!
  4. I hope that "too hard to die" statement also applies to this new friendship. (:
  5. This is for tech raiding advice, not about morals over the subject.

    50/3M

I usually go for the standard 3/100 deals, but now I need some extra cash. I have 3 free slots. Just send the money if you are interested. (:
  10. He may not save that much, but improvement swapping is already profitable at his level. I'm at 1400 infra, and improvement swapping is paying up.
  11. May this friendship last forever. o/ Asgaard Doxa Sparta!
  12. A tech seller always has 50 tech. Once the buyer accepts, you replace it. 20 extra tech is a waste of money.
  13. Good Luck there. Also, say hi to Konvict. (:
  14. I don't think you have a risk of your nation being sanctioned unless you do something really bad. For example, in the black sphere, there are only 4 currently sanctioned nations. I can't remember the total number of black nations, but last time I checked we were a lot. It's not like the senate is going to start embargoes out of boredom. Anyway, I think I'm talking about things that have little to do with the original post. I'm not telling that being grey is bad, in fact, if find your alliance to be an interesting concept, it's just that I don't see a real benefit of staying out of the color teams. Perhaps because my nation is young and the happiness bonus of team trades means a lot to me at this point (6 out of 27.5 happiness, 2/9 of my nation's total happiness). Going back to the Pms problem, I'm afraid the only possible solution would be adding a PM filter where you can choose to not get any PMs including in the title or in its content some words selected by the player (like "trade", "br", "guild", etc.). I don't know if this possibility has already been discussed on the suggestions forum, but at the moment, I can't think of a viable way to stop getting a ton of daily pms while staying on the grey team.

  16. Yeah, I think there's a Starcraft themed one somewhere around here.
  17. Please note that staying on peace mode will cause a happiness penalty to your people after some days. About the alliance, I'd suggest that you first check the available ones and start asking about them until you find one that suits you. Creating a new alliance is hard, and even harder if you are new to the game, as you won't have many friends or be popular enough for people to join your alliance just because of that. Also, small, non-neutral alliances usually are being tech raided the whole time unless thay have treaties with other alliances. I'm not trying to discourage you; I find small and new alliances to be sexy, just take it slow, learn the game and then make your way through it. (:
  18. They're like easy preys, I guess. Most people find a grey nation when looking for a trade partner and think "great, he has the combo that I need and even better; he's not in a color sphere, I'll just tell him about color teams and make him switch to mine." The same goes for unalligned nations; as everyone will get a recruitement pm from time to time, they will surely keep getting 10 daily invitations until they join an alliance or at least type something up in the AA field. I don't blame them for thinking like that as there's no logic in limiting yourself and not taking the color happiness bonuses on purpose (and yes, I read all the claims about the aliance trying to stay "neutral"). Only by checking every grey nation that you're going to pm you'd see that some have old nations, are in trade guilds and part of an alliance called Grey Council. Then it starts making sense and you'd avoid sending them a pm. But if you're just massing pms, grey nations usually mean new nations.
  19. Yes, you make a new nation, start messing around with the options and suddently you have 20 PMs offering you money to join an alliance, mostly trash and a couple semi personalized that seem to be more organized and more serious than the others, Sparta was the first of those alliances to send you the message, so you open it first (that's what happened to me). You remember the movie, your history lessons and those techno remixes on YouTube, then go and read again the message... it's not that bad, huh? Let's give it a try. What? You have to create an account in a forum? Come on, this is just a stupid browser game. Well... let's do it. 45 days after that you're here, in the CN forums, reading all the nights about past and current events, trying to learn about everything that you have missed all these years when you don't even knew that this game existed. Then you go an refresh your nation's page, double check when your tech deals are expiring and send a couple of pms. Sparta got me involved in this game. When I first joined I did it because you don't need that much time (take Ogame as a comparison) and seems to be pretty slow. Perfect for someone with a full daily schedule. Now I'm looking for time to log in whenever I can to see what's going on, reply on the forums and in game. Believe me, a mainstream movie would never make me get involved like this. You may join an alliance because you like it's name, it's logo or because it has Britney Spears as its queen, but nobody stays in a !@#$ty alliance just because of a name/theme/logo. Also, the purpose of this thread is to say which alliance(s) you think are over/underrated. Even if Sparta was a terrible alliance as you said, there's no problem if a Spartan gives his opinion on the matter.
  20. I read the whole thread. I'm with the ones telling that while everyone (in every sphere) gets that kind of messages, not having a color (or being grey, if you want) will make you have like 10 times more messages than people in a team. Using the same example as in my last post; everyone has a chance to be kicked by some drunk guy while passing him by, but you're more likely to be kicked if you have the "kick me" thing sticked to your back.
