  1. OOC: I love it when people cross OOC/IC lines IC: Implied meaning or not, Rakata has said what it needs to say. We request international observers to ignore the petty comments and reckless words being thrown around, and work towards both the congratulation of Promised Land and Rakata as well as the continued dialogue between peaceful nations.
  2. We'd like to point out we've never claimed that the United Netherlands attempted to expand upon their borders. Check your facts, as was stated.
  3. We're a fairly market liberal state, with a non intereference foreign policy. We're lead by an elected legislature and executive branch.
  4. Rakata merely chuckles at this latest incarnation of the many faces of the States General. Rakata offers to send it's psychologists to the United Netherlands to aid in the diagnosis of their leader with Paranoid Schizophrenia and Multiple Personality Disorder.
  5. Rakata is concerned with the increasingly erratic actions of the Dutch government, and we inquire if there is a third party issuing commands to the government in Netherlands? Where have the commitments to peaceful dialogue, cooperation and mutual friendship gone? We respect and recognize the cancellation of our embassies, and removal of our diplomats from Netherlands, and will comply fully. Our ambassadors are already en route to Rakatan soil. Be it known that at any point in the future, even should a new government arise in the united Netherlands, the Dutch will need to work very hard to replace the irresponsible decisions made with these events, if they ever wish to resume diplomatic relations with Rakata.
  6. Signed for the Rakatan Imperium President yuthura Ban Prime Minister Marius Galek Foreign Minister Jona Falange
  7. "I think this is all for now, I would like to return to Rakata via car if that is ok? " Galek said.
  8. Nodding in agreement, Galek replied, "We agree with the document. Please send it to your leadership for signatures ,and announce it at your liesure." Galek said.
  9. Rakata fires the question back, but rephrases it: What's the point in issuing statements before you read the treaty language?
  10. Rakata is saddened to see that because the Netherlands is paying the consequences for it's reckless actions and wanton abandonment of their declarations of neutrality, they are willing to ostracize themselves even further. As you know, the Treaty of Antwerp did not stipulate that the Imperium was under any obligation whatsoever and that we are not inclined to support any aggressive war, for any reason. This decision was not made lightly, and if the Dutch feel that conflict over flimsy casus belli's are justification enough for them, then we do not stand in their way. We merely will not associate with them on any level as demonstrated by this recent announcement. Further discussion of this is closed, and the ministry will no longer respond to any parties regarding this event.
  11. According to this thread, I will now be transferred sovereignty as far as the map is concerned, of the following land:
  12. Rakata again urges calm and pleads for the nations of Europe to see reason. Why must there be war in a world where peace is so badly needed? We are saddened to see the Normans in this conflict, but are pleased that they are merely acting in a defensive measure.
  13. Handing a copy of the treaty of lehon, Galek offered, "Simply add in your nations requirments for the land, and we shall announce the acquisition of these lands to the world." He finished.
  14. Be it known, This day August 20th, 2009 AD, The Rakatan Imperium hereby gives notice of the suspension and subsequent review by Parliament of the Treaty of Lehon. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was given today on this suspension: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is deeply saddened, as we were with our Dutch comrades, by the Norman decision to take part in this engagement against the HRE. We realize that the lines of clarity and truth have been muddied and blurred by both sides of this conflict. We are committed to the peaceful resolution of all conflicts, and hope to see that our Norman colleagues will reverse their decision. Until then, we have submitted the treaty in question to the Parliamentary committee on foreign relations for review. It has been placed on indefinite suspension until such a point as the committee can determine the future of Norman-Rakatan relations.
  15. "We'd like to take that a step further and offer a Friendship treaty with a Free trade economic clause. We have signed others in the past, and we'd like to do the same here. It would go a long way to solidify our continued cooperatio nand budding friendship." Galek said.
  16. Special Report Amidst the conflagration in Europe, the Parliament has unanimously approved legislation to change the Rakatan standard to a new, more cultural symbol. The flag has been redrawn to show the imperial heritage of the country, as well as the diverse cultural boundaries of the nation.
  17. Rakata condemns this campaign of aggression in the strongest manner possible. We had hoped that war would not come once again to Europe so soon, but alas, we are disappointed. We still urge all parties to work together to come to a diplomatic solution, and offer our services alongside Molokia's as a mediator. We also pledge our forces as a peacekeeping contingent if any nation deems it acceptable.
  18. Rakata acknowledges this, and is saddened by this information.
  19. Passing by a particularly beautiful area of land, the Prime Minister stopped speaking to admire the natural beuaty. It made him miss his home even more. Looking back at Wallace, Galek replied. "We are willing to pay a monetary compensation, as well as give a tax exempt status to any PL firms operating within our lands. We are also willing to sign a lease agreement on the land to make the sufficient payments you deem appropriate. In short, what are you asking for it?" Galek said with a grin.
  20. The foreign ministry of Rakata inquires if this means that Dutch soldiers will no longer be actively participating in the Bavarian campaign?
  21. OOC: Least of which is the logistical nightmare associated with the transfer of supplies with little or no notice...
  22. After reviewing the research, an independent think tank has been forwarded the results of the climate and ice studies and the results are quite interesting. Much of the rumors related to global climate change and CO2 emissions seem to have been rather off base. The ice appears to be at a stable depth and thickness in most areas around the settlement. Whether this is true around the continent remains to be seen however. It is clear that further study is certainly warranted. In other areas, Rakatan and Norman civilians were seen playing a friendly match of ice soccer, with the Rakatan team narrowly losing to the Normans in a heated but friendly spirit. Afterwards, the Rakatan district hosted a party at the HQ of the Rakatan delegation. Vodka, fish and other foodstuffs were readily available.
  23. "I'd be willing to accept joint ownership, however I would like to own the non tribal land that is not affiliated to the city itself. this is to allow the possibility of rakatan settlers founding new towns and villages in the arable land. I would also like international recognition of that land as Rakatan, however the ownership of Darwin will be joint." Galek said. OOC: Basically, I want to be able to go to the claim's thread and list this new map I posted above as my new territory.
  24. Rakata is disgusted with the combination of rhetoric on both sides. this war represents a failure to communicate and understand differing viewpoints. We are reminded of the wording of the HRE's inital claim to these lands. It claimed to want them peacefully, or not at all. We are deeply disappointed that Europe seems once again on the brink of a third war in the last month.
