1. I'm looking to move to a new alliance, however, I have some requirements which must be met: - Must be large enough that my 46.8k NS will not be among the upper tier. - Must have tech sellers. - Must have a forum. - Must not have activity requirements (I am not active on a daily basis). - Must be willing to accept that I will remain on the yellow team and will retain my existing trade circle. - Must not actively pursue conflict. If your alliance satisfies any of these requirements, please contact me. This is a rare opportunity, as it has been about a decade since I've been open to recruitment. I was first recruited by The Brain, and have stuck with a group of fellow Brain alumni over the years, which brought me to FAN. Much of the group that I followed here is no longer active, so my ties to FAN are now minimal beyond my trade circle. My primary concern now is to arrange tech deals. EDIT: I've opted to join Alpha Wolves.
2. I've been with you guys how many years now, and I'm still getting the "iAn" treatment? It's iOn guys. lol! o7
3. Lavish vacations, booze, loose women, general debauchery... I thought that's what being a politician was all about! I wouldn't use the term fondling though... Too tame for my tastes. :awesome: Senate seat or not, the people of Tiberia are happy enough with all of our... Well, maybe that's best left to the imagination... :smug:
4. It is only on the rarest and greatest of occasions that I choose to grace these halls with my presence. 1 million NS? Bah... I'm only here for the party. Happy 50th Freelancer! :awesome:
5. Please... You grouped me with them before I had even indicated any intention of leaving Prototype. You treated me as "one of them" - as little more than a number. As I said to you in the PM I sent to you, I had planned on leaving on pleasant terms, but you took that option away. Just to clarify for any interested observers, here is the main point of contention in what SirWilliam seems to be implying has been my "unreasonable" interactions with him... This right here is the most blatant example of the issue I was pointing out in my message to you, but judging from your entire response, you seem too dense to understand it. My issue is that you automatically grouped me with them - while I was still under your AA no less. I expect to be treated as an individual, not as a number. I am casting this judgement not as a member of The Survivors, but as Octavion - as an individual. If you can demonstrate any fault in MY OWN actions, then I will apologize for my harsh words, but frankly, that won't be happening, because you and I both know there is no fault to be found in my actions.
6. Sorry Olacnog. I filled the last slot late last night. Thanks anyway for your interest.
7. Yeah, no problem Lex. Thanks anyway for your interest. I still have 2 slots open for anyone interested.
8. Unfortunately, I cannot deal with you at this time Lex, as there is a Black Team sanction against your nation. I've sent aid offers to everyone else who has posted here or contacted me. Still 3 slots left.
9. 6 slots available. Buying 3/50. You want them long-term, post here.
10. I would just like to say that it's been a pleasure to have been a member of The Brain for much of the past 4 years. It saddens me to see the end of my first and current home here in CN, but all things must come to an end. I'd like to wish the best of luck in the future to my fellow neurons!
11. Holy crap! I didn't realize I had so many old friends in Olympus. Good luck guys!
12. Well, it was fun while it lasted. I didn't know my yellow cakes would give him food poisoning...
13. I don't always grace these halls with my presence (a fact one can easily ascertain from my post count, this making 35 posts in 39 months), but when I do, I really don't know what I'm babbling about here... Psstt... Tucker... A hand if you will? You're good at this babbling !@#$ right? Cause I have no clue what the $%&@ I'm babbling about! Anyhow, ever the showman, I strive to provide lulz for the viewing public on the rare occasion that I am awakened from my slumber. Luckily for all of you, today is one such occasion. I was originally only going to share my shenanigans with the rest of The Brain, which for some reason tolerates my random and erratic activity levels - traits unbecoming of a neuron. Perhaps it is my audacious and whimsical nature that cements for me a place within The Brain, but I digress. The point is, I have been awakened by the one who calls himself Scorn - a befitting name, as I look upon this pitiful insect with a look of scorn for his Delusions of Grandeur upon my face. As such, I've decided to share my shenanigans with all of you, on the off chance that one amongst you might crack a smile, smirk wryly at my handiwork, or maybe even, dare I suggest it, laugh. I should think to question the sobriety of one whom should fall into the latter category though, but would you not also were you to see someone laughing in a vat of malt liquor? Oh my... Again with the babbling... I think I'll stop here for now, and leave you with the miraculous gift of my shenanigans. Maybe one day, you too can be like me, and know a life of peace, solitude, and endless lulz outside of the confines of this world some like to call the internet. I was kinda hoping GATO would DoW on me since you promised a big surprise. It turned out to be an election announcement instead. For shame. I will content myself with eliminating the Brains shiny infrastructure in multiple new locations. Ahh, joy. If your long range plan is to reduce my nation to rubble you will find that it only exposes younger and weaker nations to potent doses of rhetoric and warfare. Scorn Delusions Intact P.S. I realize I am premature on addressing a few of you as radiation recipients, but radiation is a gift that gives to neighbors without bias. GRL is not going to recover for a long time to come. P.P.S. If you would like to catch up on our correspondence Freelancer can share my previous missives with you.

To: Scorn From: Octavion Date: 7/3/2012 1:03:57 AM Subject: RE: Expectations Message: I love the smell of napalm in the morning! You've come up a bit short. It may be that this relationship will be fiery and short-lived, but I expected there would be some give and take. I'm a bit of a sadist, so a nice hard smack will really go a long way.
15.
I recognize this declaration of war with one of my own. Delusions of Grandeur hereby declares war on the Brain for infringing upon my protectorate.
Oi... You just had to wake me from my slumber didn't you... Imma have to glass you for that...
16.
I'm in with Iron and Lumber, but I can only do it on Maroon, not Black.
I apologize, but I merged the circle with another similar one on Black, and we're full up already.
17.
tl;dr Summarize each point into a sentence. If you can't, then it's rambling.
Are you seriously that ignorant? To stick with the topic at hand, I agree with what's been suggested so far, with the exception of making the wonders like the Moon/Mars ones in terms of having an expiration date. Personally, I think the wonders are fine as is, and have little to nothing to do with the issue. Eventually there are no wonders left to buy, except the Moon/Mars ones as they expire, so there is essentially a cap in place on wonders. The wonders are sufficiently expensive and time consuming to acquire so as to present a reasonable and realistic goal for new players. Tech is an issue though. I agree that the current 3 for 50/100 system effectively creates an advantage for older players that is impossible to overcome. Furthermore, as the population declines and ages, it becomes increasingly more difficult to find tech sellers, further exacerbating the tech issue. As tech becomes more difficult to acquire, the perceived gap between newer and older players widens and becomes even more difficult to overcome, leading players to give up early on. It's a vicious cycle, and placing a soft cap on tech - by making it more difficult to acquire the more of it you have - would likely be a highly effective solution to the issue. Here's another idea regarding tech that I thought I'd throw out there. How about, beyond a certain amount of tech (9000? lol), nations are no longer able to receive tech from other nations via trade, but must purchase any new tech via the available purchase screen. Since the cost of purchasing tech via this route grows as you acquire more, this would slow the rate at which a nation can acquire tech over time. Now, I joking suggested 9000, but this amount is sufficiently high that it does not affect other aspects of the game, such as wonders, and is sufficiently low that it would immediately affect a reasonably large number of players (about 650, or 4% of the population).

19.
Congrats to the new guys at government and your stats Forever forward you guys
Thanks Eumir! Been a while since we talked - since before the collapse of UNSC I think.
20. Now I'm not looking to re-roll, as my current nation is 682 days old, but I am very interested in hearing some opinions regarding trades. First of all, if a new nation were to start off with my resources (wine and gems) would you recommend a re-roll? I know I've found it very difficult to maintain a trade circle, and yet I would think that they would be very useful and desirable resources for an economy-based trade circle. Second, what bonus resources would you target with a wine and gems combo (with a uranium trade)?
