1.
You are... one of MK's lapdog?
Not really I'm not a large fan of mushrooms on my pizza Really, The Brain holds little beef with anyone in the 'Verse besides those who have decided it would be a wonderful idea to play the fool to us and our interests. Even so, we prefer to take the long view and let their just comeuppance occur naturally - this is the natural state, after all! There's little story here. GATO was attacked, we exercised our option. When we release our generous terms of [s]endearment[/s] [s]capitulation[/s] return to normality to the adventuring hitchhikers we have declared a Kinetic Military Action upon, it will likely involve bottles of Midnight Hobo, a premium brand of hootch. Really, we're one-of-a-kind, and we find the Spanish Cat to be rather fly.
 2.
Instead of helping us convince CSN to drop the reps demand for DT you instead made your own peace deal, posted a big "F U Maroon" and left for Black.
Let me see if I can find the wayback machine..... .... ... .. . There it is. I remember now. I seem to recall our absurd surrender terms were something in the range of 50,000 of the fattest, most succulent techno beats available to the 'Verse at large, and promptly got dropped by the rest of you folks in response. We set sail for the Black sphere, and somehow didn't get attacked for being the giant, raging <censored> the 'Verse knows The Brain to be. I suppose they found bigger raging <censored> to deal with. Would you happen to have an idea of who they are? I might have an idea or two. I don't think I'll need to share that epiphany until well after the fallout from the atomic bug-zappers settle. tl;dr NOURISH US WITH YOUR SORROW
 3.
Well I think the person that will replace him, will be suited for the job.
We'll see. I'm fairly confident that the new boss will be the same as the old boss. So to speak.
 4.
And we have a new gov, new opinions, and a new perspective. So it's old news.
I admit, I laughed.
 5.
Why would I send someone over to your forums after all you guys have done?
Gosh, because going into a war we had no interest in on your behalf was so vile. But this does let me know what the thought processes are over there. Thank you for that.
 6. Does this mean we'll get someone in to say hello at The Brain forums, or is it business as usual and we'll just get the fingers in the ears, the "la la la la la" and I'll go back to watching the clock until the action show comes on? (I won't be holding my breath)
 7.
I still don't get why Brain left Chestnut.
It was the capstone to a series of events involving war, communication (or the lack thereof), and the desire to be entertaining while we did something that most probably just don't care about. In plain language? We didn't like where the signatories were going, and the signatories certainly didn't seem to want us there. Any error in communication was never followed up on and no lines were reopened. Really, it's better this way.
 8. It's been, like, twenty minutes since the last message from: and It was a time of great turmoil... This is a tale of two lands. One was large, proud, powerful. They went for the eyes, Boo. Look at where it got us. The other was small, but their acumen in many a subject was...unrivaled. A candid snapshot of Shane-o They were separated by...a gulf. Perhaps filled with water, perhaps with golf balls. Really, it isn't integral to this story. They wanted this gulf to be crossed, you see. Their women were beside themselves with grief. Truth be told, I think she's kinda pissed we didn't do this before now And so they came to the one man who could undertake this journey. That's right. They came to me. Xiao's body double in a dramatic re-enactment I said to myself, "Self, what better way to cross a gulf of [s]water[/s] [s]golf balls[/s] immeasurable sorrow?" So I wrote...a treaty. This treaty, here. (And there was much rejoicing.) With as much ado as I can muster on half a case of summer ale, I present this treaty of Peace, Intelligence and Aid, thereby combining the power, stature and respect that the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization commands with the class, wit, and administration savvy of The Brain*.
The Globally-Conscious, Smart-Money Agreement Preamble Article 1 - Non-Aggression No member nation of either signatory alliance may attack a member nation of the other signatory alliance. Any violation of this will result in immediate reparations equivalent to the damages done. Refusal of the violating nation to pay reparations can result in severe punishment from the alliance they are affiliated with, and the reparations will be paid by another nation of the aggressive alliance. Both alliances also agree to peace between each other until a point in time when this pact is cancelled with just cause. Fair Game Clause - It should be understood that any nation who is 'ghosting' either affiliation is hereby considered 'Fair Game' and will be subjected to side bets as to which organization fills the offender's dance card first - and who reaches the coveted 'Stone Age' milestone of no infrastructure left within their demense. Article 2 - Optional Defense War happens. If one signatory is under attack, it should be understood by the global community that this document provides casus belli for the other signatory to get involved in the conflict should they desire such an outcome. Neither signatory expects the other's allies to get involved in the situation should it escalate, unless it is through another treaty or like document. C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker Clause - Should the global mileu shift events so that both signatories are on opposite sides of the inevitable burning of the treaty web, it should also be understood by the global community that this document provides ample enough reasoning that, for all intents and purposes, the war stops here for both parties. The signatories will not chain treaties to declare on one another. Article 3 - Intelligence Any information picked up by a signatory of one alliance that may contain information leading to hurt/danger towards to their signatory partner must be given to the government of the partner alliance as soon as the information is picked up. Any other information or intelligence picked up by one signatory alliance may be given to the other signatory government, but there is no obligation in this case and it is completely optional. Any privileged information from this relationship may not be shared without the express consent of both parties. Source Protection Clause - While it usually need not be said, both parties will take steps to protect their sources as intelligence on the scale that would injure either party has been taken as a casus belli for war. Both parties will also take steps to vet and verify this information as accurate to avoid any kerfuffle that may arise when acting on unverified intelligence. Article 4 - Aid The signatories of this document acknowledge that this is a plausible gateway to an extended transfer from one alliance to the other for the purposes of rebuilding, economic growth, the purchase of war materiel, scientific advancement, or some other combination that is yet to be decided. The only caveat to this article is that neither party can be directly involved in a conflict. Article 5 - Cancellation This treaty may be cancelled if one of the articles given in this pact is not met or one of the signatories has done something that shows ill-will towards their partner alliance. Unless both alliances agree to termination, there must be a 48 hour notice of cancellation before the termination takes complete effect. Signed for the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization: Assembly Chairman TimLee Minister of Foreign Affairs Laserwolf GATO 44th Congress Signed for The Brain The Central Nervous System mr3looc Shane-o Friar Tuckman
* Class, wit and savvy are sold as-is. Seller takes no responsibility for any liabilities that may be incurred after purchase. === In all seriousness (a rarity for me), GATO are super folks and our relations with them have been fantastic for quite some time. The treaty was a long time in coming and is only opening the door to much more in the future. We liked them enough to offer a no-questions-asked $300m marker to sweeten the deal, but they actually turned us down, showing it's not about the dongs, it's about the good times. That's something we can all get behind, and so here it is. Stay classy, Digiterra. Xiao Weng
 9. So it goes. Shine on, you crazy diamonds.
 10. Wonder if we need to do another "investigation?". Meh, probably not.
 11. It's time for another one of those messages from... It's been some time, baby. Let's take a ride on the... The Mouth of The Brain, Xiao Weng here with all the Brainy news you'd be fit to digest, and a little more about forty smooth sailors in one rough sea. Since you joined us last we'd just negotiated the sweetest of terms from the League of Small Superpowers, and we sampled only the freshest and fattest of tunes that these cats had to offer. Let me tell you, baby, it was a jamboree. But then The Brain thought to itself, "Why not expand our musical repitoire? There's a whole host of fine musicians to listen to, some of which hunger for The Brain and its per-capita purchasing power." An enterprising artist who continues to produce from beyond the grave And so we embarked on our search. Truth be told, baby, we got so into it we lost track of time. So it was a surprise to me when the Pons scratched the vinyl and said, "We've got some news." What news could that be, gentle listeners? Only the brainiest. Our little slice of soul just got a little larger. 2,000,000+ NS. Rich and smooth, like a man should drink his coffee. Five hundred nukes, because we hard. On a sadder note, we had a third of our Central Nervous System up and retire. It left us listless, fallow. We drooled a little bit on the left side. Our feet shuffled, and our Neurons kept running into walls. This had to change! And so, the rest of the Central Nervous System put their power together and decided, 'Who would be best to fill that spot?' The first two names suggested were Freelancer's and my own, gentle listeners. And it was then a great Shout was heard from the ramparts, and lo did the seas run red, and the sky grew dark. A Voice echoed from the heavens, and lo did it say, "Those two will never be in charge, do you hear me?" Suitably cowed, The Brain's leaders made their decision, but they didn't stop there. And before you ask, you know it's already gone to my head. You may also spit-take as the well-known Freelancer has the Internal Affairs spot. The Brain wants you to know that he's our watchdog, and sniffs out the bad apples in the barrel and keeps those forums tight. (In short, kids, the decisions don't lie with me or with Free. You can exhale, now. Yes, I know you were holding your breath.) The Brain also signed, as you gentle listeners should already know, a Covenant with the OBR. Think what you may of these cats, they've always been solid and it's a smart move to treat with these fine people. Really, a rose by any other name smells just as sweet, and one as fine and Black as the OBR is just rich in flavor. One final piece of news, gentle listeners, and it's a news we've alluded to all over this announcement. You see, baby, it's no secret that relations have chilled on Maroon, and not in the good way. Some misguided cats have made some questionable actions, and The Brain thought to itself, "What's the best way to respond to this?" Well, your Mouth had a few ideas regarding some transmissions and the O'Jays, but that was quickly, and rightfully nixed as the Mouth shouldn't be spitting in the heat of irrational anger, right? Right. I'm glad you agree, gentle listeners. It's been said that once you go Black, you never go back. It sounded fine enough to us Brainy cats, so we took them up on their offer. The Brain, gentle listeners, has Gone Black. This is the Mouth of The Brain, Xiao Weng, signing off. Remember, baby, all we do, we do for you, Digiterra.
 12.
Then I have no idea why you sought or held an MDOAP with me.
Because I'm not The Brain, and The Brain wanted to hang out with CSN via Chestnut, which furthered ties with the other fun folk in the bloc...save you and yours, not that I'm complaining about it. We're no longer in, so we can kick around and do our own thing, have some fun with it, and the other retirees can send me a note once in a while to make with the witty and see how many eyes I can get to roll when we've got something to say. I'm more like a...Well, no, I am a peanut gallery member in The Brain. When I don't like someone, I will remark on it to our .gov, and they will assess the comment with all the gravity it deserves. Generally, it's very little and I'm comfortable with that. So, when something like Chestnut comes up and they ask the peanut gallery and I say "There's this guy who just sets my teeth on edge, there's something about him that's just skeezy," they'll ask if I have anything concrete and I'll say no it's just a feeling, man. So I guess it really wasn't about us seeking or holding an MDOAP with you. It was getting to build some ties with everyone else and just kind of tolerate the creepy guy in the corner who keeps on staring and making heavy breathing noises.
 13.
There hasn't really been an attempt. I was vaguely aware, although the rest of CA wasn't, that CSN had canceled on you. That you decided to withdraw and slam us so quickly since has been pretty crappy, and makes clear you didn't consider us friends, so. -shrugs-
I've never personally considered you and yours to be friends.
 14.
The nature of these questions are OCC only. Not that I'm one of importance, but in the nature of keeping the peace and honest discourse. If you remember our nice private chat a few months ago, I can forward it to you privately if you would like, what makes a difference between your desires then, which would have impacted CSN and now when CSN needed your assistance , but you want to keep your seemingly clean hands? It seems to me that the brain has played more of a huge role assisting DT in their PR attacks than I personally would feel comfortable from a treaty partner on any level, what makes you think CSN was wrong in dropping the treaty with you? I could see you being upset had you simply existed the war quietly, but (As far as I know most treaties hold a respect clause) to me it seems your exit from the war did nothing, but help fan the flames against your former ally CSN.
Regardless, they did still get our assistance. It seems us holding off the first day was a major sticking point with the Commonwealth. I'm still not sure why. Had I known that panties were going to be in this much of a bunch over this and our terms with LoSS, I would've done things differently. Hindsight and all. Suffice it to say, five years or so has more or less gone up in smoke, and neither side is talking to the other right now. I haven't seen a CSN diplomat on our forums since, oh, July of last year and our Maroonity masks were removed not too long after we gave our private notice that we were breaking off of Chestnut. What had been a fairly strong friendship from the old days, with White Nationalist Waffle-Stomps and other entertaining diversions, vanished in the span of about a week. With the way things were looking, continuing on with Maroonity wasn't a wise course of action. We more or less didn't want to feel like we were just some sort of ablative meatwall for SF and now after the stink that got raised because we didn't start the bloc tumbling in - as well as our subsequent exit - that's how we felt when the decision was made to leave Chestnut. As of right now, CSN was our link to CA. We went with it because they were there, and we found R&R, TTK, RIA to be wonderful and engaging people. I still don't personally hold much for GOD, nor do I for the Commonwealth now after the reps thing came up and the subsequent Liz thing. The only public mention I made about those reps was in our peace agreement with LoSS until after Chestnut hit. I feel like I'm starting to ramble again so I guess I'll wrap it up. Free got a note that GOD didn't have our best interests at heart. We delayed, then backed CSN, who were our pals, who then made outrageous demands of someone, which we then didn't like. We peaced out, CSN flipped, they peaced out, cancelled our MDP, we figured there was no real point to be in Chestnut anymore, the forum action response we get is 'you can't quit you're fired.' We still don't feel that GOD or CSN had any of our interests in mind and I figure all parties are more comfortable being split this way.
 15.
I honestly hope the disappearance of your members and government is all a misunderstanding and they are found unscathed.
Either way it'll be one hell of a story.
