  1. Pretty much every alliance will offer some form of aid and all but the smallest will be able to set you up in trade circles and tech deals. I would advise having a look around here and seeing what people you like and what alliances their part of, and have a look in the 'Player Created Alliances' forum where alliances advertise for members. Also, there's no obligation to registering on a forum so have a look at a load and see which set-ups/communities appeal to you. Good luck!
  2. I can confidently say that if you don't fancy being part of an alliance but want to be protected by awesome forces and want shedloads of money for selling tech, then CTC is the place.

The issue was answered in the post above mine, I was merely trying to explain to the OP why someone without an in-depth knowledge of the Berber people may find it acceptable to describe them as they have been (and pretty much proved how it can happen with my mis-information, although I was sure North Africa was considered part of 'old Arabia', not of course what we consider the 'Arabian Penninsula' today). I guess by using information such as the CIA world factbook (if admin does actually do that) as a reference to describe places/people terms are bound to be used that help Americans understand them better rather than being 100% accurate to people of those areas. EDIT: Very impressive research by the way
  5. This. While the smiley icon may not change past it's current one the numeric value of happiness (alternatively highlight the area to the right of the icon with the cursor) will go much higher. Happiness is very important.
  6. You have an empty trade slot, did you lose a couple of population-boosting resources overnight?
  7. To elaborate a bit: 1. Costs go up the more you buy. The big increases are at the infra jump points, so make sure that you read up on those before you hit 1k infra. 2. Marble, lumber, iron and aluminium will all reduce the cost of infra, as will building factories. 3. The harbour is the most important, which you have. You don't need the school or police HQ yet, after the harbour and foreign ministry it's generally accepted that the next improvements should be 5 factories, 5 banks and 5 stadiums (although the order varies). You have the rest.

  10. You're in MHA, they have comprehensive nation building guides, trade circle programs and a tech market. Assuming you aren't ghosting spend a bit of time looking at their guides on their forum. Once you've got the basics down like what trades to get, what order to build improvements, which governments positions to select etc. and started selling tech you'll be laughing.
  11. Just to confirm something that I've noticed, the 10 days it takes for an aid slot to clear is 10 days from the offer rather than acceptance? If I received an aid offer on day 1 and didn't accept until day 3, the aid would still expire on day 10 (8 days after acceptance)?
  12. Resource effects don't stack, so you'd only get the benefit of the first gold. Any further golds would be a waste of trade slots.

  14. To the OP, it's worth noting that there's a difference between 'Arab/Berber', as you quoted it, and 'Arab-Berber' as the game quotes it. 'Arab/Berber' could also be read as 'Arab or Berber', which would suggest that the two are one and the same and why this may have offended. However, the game calls the ethnicity 'Arab-Berber', which could be read as the Berber sub-division of the Arab ethnic group. There is a separate Arab option for ethnicity so there is no doubt that admin has identified a difference between Arab and Berber (or Arab-Berber), just that the research done refers to the Berber ethnic group as 'Arab-Berber' so that is the phrase that is used (probably because the area inhabited by Berbers is part of what is traditionally known as Arabia).
  15. I would read that as $2.00 for each of the resources (so it would stack), but I guess only admin or someone who actually has it can confirm.

  17. No glitch, just unlikely. Just select the same again. That event isn't too bad.
  18. I would say you and your friends need to play the game for at least six months, perhaps each of you joining a different type of alliance (large, small, aggressive, peaceful, etc.). Learn the game and learn the politics. Get someone on your side who can do graphics and someone who can design and run a forum. Make contacts and friends so that your alliance can get a protectorate agreement when it starts.

I've been lucky, my nation is 11 days old and I've has 3 events - one negative (drought, -10% land), one positive (airport renovation, income +$1.00) and one with both possibilities (consumer spending down, happiness +1 and income +$2.00). Even if they're overly negative I like events, they add to the game even if they are a hinderance.
