And GR is our longest standing MDP ally. Long ago, they came to our aid in our darkest hour and stuck their necks out for us when no one else would. We still remember that. There's a lot of love at CCC for GR, and the overwhelming consensus among us was that there really wasn't any way we could sit back and not honor our treaty.

Question concerning the Wonder: Mining Industry Consortium -- Increases population income by $2.00 for the resources Coal, Lead, Oil, Uranium that your nation has access to. So does that mean that if I'm importing all 4 of those resources, that (in addition to trashing my environment), I'm pulling in a total of $8.00 bonus for having this Wonder? Or just the base $2.00? Another way to ask this question: does the bonus income increase stack? Or is it just one flat rate that stays the same, no matter if I'm importing just one of these resources, or all of them?

I guess I would tend to disagree about Tech expiring, simply because the new technology is built upon the old technology. The wheel may be old technology, but we haven't lost that knowledge, and there's a lot we build upon that. Same could even be said for old computers. Sure, OS9 and Windows 95 are obsolete, but there's a lot of current home computing technology that wouldn't have existed without them. And how old is Unix? 1969 was when it first emerged in its primordial form, but the operating systems built from it are still going strong. Yes, many particular devices become obsolete, but the ideas behind them become the foundation of what's invented tomorrow -- so in that aspect, good, basic, useful technologies never really fade away.

If this update opens the door to more Improvements that improve Happiness, Population Income, or Environment, then it may not end up so bad... still, the fact that I instantly lost around 16-17 points of Happiness instantly was a bit of an unhappy shock... (edit: this has been restored with the update of the update....) Buying a fifth Border Wall increased my happiness significantly (5 points total), but the population loss still made it a big negative hit on my income, so it'll be getting torn down soon... But at least I'm not in bill-lock! And if that's the case, then maybe this has, in a left-handed way, made me more powerful than my peers....

Just to let the OP know he isn't alone, I've had similar results math-wise. The first 4 Borders Walls have brought an increase in tax profits, but the fifth one decreased my income and was just a big negative overall. I tore it down. They were the last Improvements on my list to purchase (other than Guerrilla Camps, which aren't on my shopping list at all). I don't foresee me rebuilding that fifth Border Wall unless Admin changes its stats, or I start importing a lot of environmentally damaging Trade goods.

Even smarter, in that once you buy the spies, you don't have to pay for any upkeep on them.
